I've only played the beta for about 4 hours, but I honestly think I could label this as my favourite game of all time. Do you think this is just buzz from initial playing of the game or do you think it could turn out to be genuine? It's certainly like nothing I've ever played before, that's for sure. I think because of the constant new flow of content from both players and in the form of patches it could be one of those games you can play for YEARS. EDIT: Okay, clearly I worded this wrong 'cause a lot of people seem to have taken it as if I meant "The best game that will and ever will be and if you say otherwise then you are wrong". Let's try again: Who here believes LBP could climb your current list of favourite games and become one of your current favourite games ever made?

Of all time is impossible. Because there will always be a more technically advanced, more featured, more intuitive, more polished game down the road, as the hardware allows gaming to expand further and further. However, without doubt LittleBigPlanet will be a standout and a revolutionary no matter what. Just like how Super Mario Bros., Halo, and so many others are even today still held with respect and awe as a legendary, LittleBigPlanet will be that game ten and twenty years down the road that people look back to and admire how amazing it was, and will continue to go back and play even in light of the amazing games then. (Look at how many people are playing Halo multiplayer. Seven years later.) The title of "the best game ever" can never be won, because games are continually moving forward, and the opportunity to do it better keeps opening up again and again. But as a an outstanding, shining light, in the midst of other bright lights, that is will continue to be. Now, the question is whether this game becomes what Super Mario 64 was to the 3D platformer and the game all the others down the line take as their inspiration and aspiration, and even though others may succeed it in respects, it will still be looked back on as the first, and the defining mark. Yes, I can get very philosophic when duly motivated.

Yeah, this game is definitely revolutionary. I think it is the start of Video Games 2.0, opening a flood gate of user generated games.

First, wait a couple months, then try saying the same thing again. A lot of it is due to your initial excitement. I remember when I thought Halo was the best game ever (never played online or anything, but the game was awesome when it first came out.) Now, I never play it, (mostly because my Xbox is broken, but nonetheless.) LBP does seem like an awesome game, and will stand out from the others, but no game can be the best ever.

Just seeing how desperate some people have been for merely the beta is proof enough that it's going to be very, very big, indeed. Also, my previous post still stands. Just kinda off-topic. It can never be too early, it's LittleBigPlanet. Of course it is the best game of all time!! I really hate being realsitic, but I don't think LBP is the "best game of all time". There isn't a "best game", because as The Boss said in Metal Gear Solid 3, things change with the times. Believe it or not one day when you are old and grey you will put down the PS3 controller and turn off LBP perminantly... eventually...that tends to happen with all games and with all people (unless you play runescape or world of warcraft .jk.). Then there will be a new shinier glossier game, maybe in like 30 years, that will overcome the greatness that is LittlebigPlanet. But for now i agree that it is in the top 5 best console games in the world on any platform and we should enjoy as long as we can... EDIT: Think about it this way, what would the world be like if there was NEVER EVER a better game than LittleBigPlanet.... (jut being realistic, not a pedemist lol)

Littlebigplanet will be one of the major breakthroughs in the game industry, not the greatest game of all time. I mean, as society advances, better games than LBP will come out.

Hmmmm.......I don't know.... LittleBigPlanet is definitely my most anticipated game and I loved the beta, but I also loved COD4 to the point of obsession. I mean, I've been playing COD4 everyday for a year..... Could LBP be the same? It's the first game I actually actively posted in forums for, constantly searched videos for, and generally ruined my social life with lol .
