Bolts that actually work...

Archive: 8 posts

yeah, it's old news, but it's really bugging me again. Motor Bolts still drift all over the place, and Wobble Bolts have a mind of their own. It's so disheartening when you have to dismantle hours and hours of work 'cus a bolt somewhere at the back is playing sillybeggars.

Frankly I find it even more irritating than the crashing and corrupting saves... at least there's a workaround for those.

Hidy ho Bovrillor! I agree that the bolt issue is very annoying. I've noticed that both Wobble and Motor bolts can tend to have a mind of their own (I've had Motor which are set to directional going crazy in multiple levels of mine. The issue has been with the tightness setting).

The way that I work around it when I have issues where a wobble bolt (or directionally wired Motor Bolt) is to have a regular bolt in the center, and using a piston at one of the ends to make the object rotate. The piston needs to be set to NOT stiff. I haven't really run into any drifting issues with those bolts.

You may have already known all of that, but I wanted to toss it out there in case it might help

Amazingflyingpoo's idea works very good, but unless you're like me, you would actually take the time to redo the bolts n stuff. -_-

Yeah, it's really annoying having to do a quick "replace every bolt/piston" run just before publishing your levels.

Off-topic, but alot of people seem to be copying how jeffcu ends his posts.

Well of course I redo the broken bits, I wouldn't upload a messy level. And surely anyone would be annoyed at wasting several hours of their life?

If you noticed some of my feedbacks, I usually end in
"Until we meet again,

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm copying Jeffcu, but it is more polite to end your conversation like that.
Such as the end of the format of a letter. Make sense?

Hahah, that is true, but you're tsr13!
Everybody knows if you have numbers next to your psn, you can't do sign-offs or postscripts.
*Looks at my own psn*
