The video seems to have come out really dark.

Anyways, disclaimer time:
Contains difficult platforming elements performed at unforgiving camera angles.
Suggested for single player.
Seriously, i don't know how you guys manage with any more

To start with something positive I really like the design. The architectural style is just great, feels like a unique combination of the old Prince of Persia games with a little bit of ICO.

But as you could expect there is something negative too? and that is the camera
Like you said in the description the camera angles are really unforgiving. They may give you a nice view of the architecture but it makes the jumps almost impossible. I don't say that it is too hard but with this camera angles it is just unfair and frustrating cause you don't really see what Sackboy is doing.

For example, when you go left at the beginning there is this part where you have to jump down on 3 platforms and then over to a balcony. I died there like a million times before I realized that there was a grabbable thing hanging that you supposed to grab. Due to the angle of the camera and beeing already night time (dark) I did not see that

I like challenges but if they are unfair and frustrating even I won?t try forever to make it. Nevertheless
I was able to make it to the part where you grab the blue thing and then the water rises. Too bad that I accidently jumped down and so I was trapped in that room ? I only could restart the level from there. Next time I?ll give it another try cause I really enjoyed the design and I want to see the rest of it.
All the best

i was considering throwing some magic mouths in some areas to let people get a better view of what their in for. do you think something like that would help?2010-05-24 15:46:00

This would definitively improve the whole thing and would make it less of a try and error gameplay.

By the way after some frustrating moments where I was about to throw the gamepad into my new flat screen TV I finaly managed to finish the level now. Seriously this level is full of WTF moments - I mean the part with the floating bridge... so close to the end and then that

Please put more jackpoints at the longer challenges. There is nothing more frustrating than succeeding at the first 3 jumps after trying 1000 times only to die at the last one when you?re almost there ? and everything from the start again.
Too bad hardly anyone will ever see the beautiful design of the whole level ? some of the challenges could be really fun if it was not for those horrible camera angles?

Nevertheless a great job

I really like the Lost Ages series.

As the titles warn, these levels are difficult. And I'm not really a fan of these very hard levels. But I can't resist trying (and trying) to beat these levels.

One of the great attractions is the very ingenious and original obstacles. It all comes down to some tough platforming, but only after some puzzling to figure out where you have to go.

The other great draw of your Lost Ages is the atmosphere. You excell at that desolate 'Team Ico' feel. Great to explore those crumbling structures.

Excellent level, although I haven't beaten it yet...

Small stuff: In part 3, there's some water that has not been covered with gas. It's directly below the first grabable box on a string (which you have to push of the ledge for a tarzan-swing). I had tot pop to get back up.

I was masochistically awaiting this, but I will go to sleep in 2 hours and I don't want to be nervous before sleeping, since I want to dream good things, so I'll try it tomorrow. 2010-05-24 21:15:00

Okay, first of all, "GOSH IT WAS HARD!!"
but totally worth it
I was amazed by the time i spent in this level.
It was gorgeous, the emitting platforms were clever and the underwater part was really nice!
I got lost for a sec. where you see the very first bubble machine. It wasn't too clear that I had to go down with the orange light and the hole in the wall was really hard to see.

It really felt like the others Lost Ages, which is good and sometimes hard to keep while doing a sequel but you still had those vertiginous camera angles, big "leaps of faith" jumps and those black/fire grabby things were evil

Loved it even if it was challenging but you can't blame a hard level when it's so rare (I mean ORIGINAL hard levels not 10 sec survivals )
:star::star::star::star::star: and a lovely <3
I even had the 1 player top score Go me!
I was so proud to make it to the end I took a picture XD

ok i will add some mouths in there to give a bit of a heads up when i get home this evening.
(possibly earlier than normal, if our phone queues don't get any busier)

What do you guys think of the day/night cycle? does it get too dark. I wanted it to be noticeable, but i don't want it to be too frustrating.

Just tried to play it deft, and had a problem, I grabbed the first blue glass, the water rose up but not before i had jumped back onto the front layer. As far as i could tell, it breaks the level as you can't progress. Maybe activate the next spawn point once the water starts to rise?2010-05-25 00:19:00

can i just attach a switch to it? nvm i'll go try.

i dropped down after grabbing the blue thing, i just swam up and to the left around the one part of the gas that was open, felt like it was what i was supposed to do. it doesnt break the level. its just tricky for some people to figure out what to do next. i loved this one. i don't think i liked it as much as #2 but its definitely a lost ages. i like how you brought back the floaty bridge from #1 but with a twist, very cool. keep makin levels def.2010-05-26 07:34:00

I'm glad you liked it.
I do kinda feel you on the LA2 comparison.
There were a few things i was hoping to implement and ended up not doing.
Like box puzzles.
As a follower of the series, I'd like to get any input you might have for making LA4.
That goes for the rest of you guys as well.
Let me know what's working and I can try to emphasize that aspect of the level.
My theme for LA4 so far is pristine hi tech/ swampy jungle.
Again, thanks for playing!

edit: hmm lost to page 3 obscurity... that's not a good sign.
