It has been brought to my attention that this project might just be too big for me... and by "might" I mean "is". So yeah, "The Riot" is way too big for me, and for my capabilities in this game. If you want to know what my strenghs are, there are writing and storytelling, urban architecture and style, and finally sound desing. These are pretty much the least important part of such a massive level. Well, except storytelling. Looks great! Besides building the level itself, what do you specifically need help with? Basically, I am crap at logic. People ask me why don't I want to work in the video game industry, that's why. I tried doing the Logic Pack, but I went out, and I just drag on that aspect. I mean crap, I'm building a complete 18-floors building which the player will torn out with a shootout, another shootout, blowing up a giant portion of one floor, and about two other shoutout. But I just never get to work on it. Instead, I just work on the graphic style of the billboards, on buildings both outside AND inside - yes, you actually get to "enter" some buildings using an elevator system. Maybe I just have too much ambition in my mind for such a project. And I would perfectly understand that. I am now exploring different possibilites, such as waiting for LittleBigPlanet and wait, what, six months? Or try to find some help for the level. And really, when you consider the subway station, the 18-floors government bulding, the shopping mall, the chase scene, the general chaos in the air, without all the logic that would activate every event, you can understand why I freaked out. Now, I have to re-write the entire script to really put every event in perspective, complete with every line of dialogue, because what I started last year got erased when my hard drive broke. Maybe some concept art will have to be done also, but I have to say research is complete. Kinda sad, when I look into it, that everything I worked on for so long wasn't that important to begin with. I need help... June 4th, 9:07 AM. Everything is fine...
