World Project (Clockwork Chronicles)

Hey everyone!

I got an new idea!
I'm calling it "world Project" for the moment.
My idea is making a huge level series of maybe 20 levels or less. I'm gonna publish the levels under a new account (no name for it yet). Now you think, why is it called "world project"? It's because it's going to be levels in different areas in the world, like one level where your in England and one your in Australia etc etc. How will I be able to create 20 levels by my self?
It will not only be by me it will be by Members on LBPC! So the members who joins this project is going to make 1 level each (Online creating is allowed ), except me I'm gonna make 2 levels (The introduction level and 1 normal level).
So it will be like sackboy travels around the world.You can make any country in the world to a level.
The levels are going to have a lot of gameplay, obstacles, and be neat . It doesn't need to be full levels it can be survival challenges or mini games as well.
So If you think this sound interesting or have any questions, feel free to ask in this thread.
Currently:Full (no more request, only if you want to OC with someone)
People don't get mad if you don't get into this project.

Story: It's the night before festival in Little Bigton, all the sackpeople are waiting for the clock to strike Midnight so the festivities can begin!
It's 11:59 and everyone is getting really excited..! When suddenly, a figure is seen at the top of the clock tower! He smashes through the face of the clock and steals the (number of countries) Relics and scatters them all over the world! Without them the clock cannot work, and without the clock, time stops in Little Bigton! Everyone freezes in time, except for 1 sackperson...
This sackperson must retrieve all the relics from around the world in order to free Little Bigton from its Frozen State!



You set foot in Ireland on your quest to find the relic(not sure what it could be yet). You stumble on a pot of gold and then a leprachaun pops up saying "eh... your not supposed to find that.. get em lads!" The pot of gold is hoisted upwards and then the camera zooms out to reveal their transportation. A rainbow projector mixed with a bit of clouds and steampunk that looks hand crafted and packed with a few leprachauns. They don't just send out rainbows though, they have a rainbow death ray! You have to dodge the beams which blow the lush green fields to pieces. Once you get far enough across the screen another leprachaun pulls you down to cover. They tell you about these corrupt leprachauns not even willing to give away their pots of gold. You have to help the other leprachauns to take the bad ones out because they are ruining their image and the leprachauns have caught wind of where the relic is being kept. So you head into their base which is again filled with that hand crafted look and it's like a processing plant for gold with pots being filled and moved around in the background. Maybe testing new tech who knows really could add anything for obstacles here. A pub with drunken leprachauns. You have to assemble some parts to make a custom rainbow projector capable of taking out the enemy leprachauns but also then taking you to the relic. You land on the enemy ship and since there's more to it now will have to be small enough. A mini boss fight just even. The enemy ship falls apart when either youve landed on it and fought or just plain shot the crap out of it XD. They thank you and then reveal where the relic is, it's at the top of this mountain. A wrecked church and graveyard inhabited by one priest. There is banshees and other creatures from Irish folklore about. The relic is in the church. The crazy priest is protecting it and all the creatures are sick to death of him, a twist on them they are not evil(to you anyhow). So they want you to take care of him, of course offering a little help and the relic will be yours. The church is in ruins and adds a bit of platforming. Followed by possibly priest boss.

Ireland may as well throw in some leprachauns I can see it now lol Is there a story to it that spans all the levels or just randomness? I think it would be interesting to have something that they all have in common theme wise. Maybe your searching for something, you might never find it. Well I haven't thought about anywhere but Ireland. I was thinking just some crazy over the top laprachaun thing lol You stumble on a pot of gold and then a leprachaun pops up saying "eh... your not supposed to find that.. get em lads!" The pot of gold is hoisted upwards and then the camera zooms out to reveal their transportation. A rainbow projector mixed with a bit of clouds and steampunk that looks hand crafted and packed with a few leprachauns. They don't just send out rainbows though, they have a rainbow death ray! You have to dodge the beams which blow the lush green fields to pieces. Once you get far enough across the screen another leprachaun pulls you down to cover. They tell you about these corrupt leprachauns not even willing to give away their pots of gold. You have to help the other leprachauns to take the bad ones out because they are ruining their image. So you head into their base which is again filled with that hand crafted look and it's like a processing plant for gold with pots being filled and moved around in the background. Maybe testing new tech who knows really could add anything for obstacles here. A pub with drunken leprachauns. You have to assemble some parts to make a custom rainbow projector so you can take on the bad laprachauns in an epic battle. You fly up and maybe return fire before jumping down onto the enemy ship. Their ship could be any size, I guess thermo limits but filled with obstacles and eventually leprachaun boss. Kill it and the place falls apart you fall but get caught by your friend leprachauns. Cheering and joy commences then maybe you black out, you wake up on the opening scenes field again but it's back in one piece. There's a rainbow but no gold. You wonder if it was a dream. Then you spot a bank machine randomly sitting in the middle of a field, you like ok.. you decide sure what the hell I may as well check my balance and it pops up saying 9999999 or whatever the maxed value is (maybe one of those first person effects of a bank machine and digits/menus that change). Leprachaun head pops out from behind machine then goes back, the machine then gets eaten by the ground after the first person scene finishes. Your ecstatic not sure how this could be illustrated but I'm sure there is a way. Then you go to the scoreboard and there's leprachauns hidden around the place looking at you. maybe so well hidden they are almost transparent, like illusions or something.

That's my thoughts so far. Could be a bit ambitious lol but sure why not. Would be great to get a few more Irish on board with me as I'm sure they have their own ideas of what's Irish.		2010-05-22 18:25:00

Woah , that's an awesome story for the Irish level

Yeah, but the intro level is more like the Mm one in the story mode. I'm gonna put pictures of all people that is in this project and their names in the intro level.

But your idea is a bit to simple (sorry) I want it to be more Imaginative.
Hmm I think that I want the story to be like the story in the story levels (lol). Like it start that your in sweden with a Viking and then it ends with laprachaun in Ireland, perhaps		2010-05-22 18:51:00

I'm working on something for LBW5 so I have to get that done by end of May. Also pondering watching all 6 seasons of Lost just so I can stay up and watch the finale at 5am lol Probably won't because it would take almost 5 entire days to watch not to mention the plot is not known as easy to follow now is it? ... Uhmmmm, I hope you haven't looked at my levels yet 'cause they are ehhhmmmm... crap. I didn't really take the time for them but I do take the time when it comes to projects, so again the Collab Room would be best to look at. And for the story: Sackboy could be stranded on earth. Then he has to find parts for a machine/vehicle to get back to LBP. It could be some kind of teleporter or a spaceship. As for the level I would build, it would probbably have to do something with the DeltaWorks, wich secures our land (the Netherlands) against the Mighty Sea.

Um, I think they'll be rather urban, won't they ? I think we'd need to see your first two levels, to see if it's quite cartoonish, or realistic. Sad, or funny...

One of the easiest things would be to make up a plot with a investigator as the hero, travelling around the world in search of clues.

Or maybe something with a superhero, in a urban city ? Just a rubbish thought though.

I know they're individual countries, but there are over 200 to choose from. I just think we need to get as much variety as possible.

Rhys sorry to be all all political now but Ireland is not a part of the United Kingdom, the republic(plasmavore ) anyhow which is the majority of the country. (26 out of 32 counties to be precise!) I completely get where your coming from though and totally agree about variety. Ok guys just an little update here:

We got 14 creators and 10 countries so far.
So we will soon be able to start. We just need everyone to write a story for their own country.
I hope most of us will have our stories done by the middle of June or so

I think it should be the countries we know most about or have a particular fascination with - which will increase the quality of the levels anyway!

I've got a basic idea for my level: The antagonist has taken vital parts from the train on the Trans-Siberian Railway. You have to find the parts of the train scattered around the level to fix the train so you can get to Japan.		2010-05-24 18:19:00

Basically, a bad guy steals rare Relics that remain inside the clock of a village. Without these Relics, the village is frozen. The bad guy has scattered them around the world so Sackboy gotta travel to find them. There'll be a kind of teleporter taking on the form of a piece of furniture, like a closet, or an object, changing according to the country where you are. You use the teleporter to travel through time and space (different countries, different periods) so you gotta put a teleporter at the beginning (with the checkpoint) and at the end (scoreboard).

I was just asking because the United States is particularly diverse among countries. Living in Hawai'i is a big indicator of that Of course, all countries have regions... Hell, even Hawai'i does. We have snow on our mountains.

Rhys, good idea I think Alec will officially deem Spain a picked country soon, as soon as he has checked the creators' levels to see their skills. I think someone has already volunteered to make a level in Spain, I'm not sure.
