PS3 / USB Stick / MP3 woes

| I'm currently trying to get my PS3 to read audio files (mp3) from a USB stick and no matter what I do, I can't actually view them, it just comes up with "no files". Now, I can copy files onto the stick from the PS3 and then view / play them. The stick itself is 16GB formatted to FAT32 (I think) and works on all of my computers (various win / *nix OS's) and in my car. I have also tried a second stick, with the same results.
