I tried something a bit diffrent this time around.
Sky Blaster is a Top down scrolling shooter game like the old snes games. Think of this as a concept for a game I will make in lbp2 :-)


The controls are simple. Tap R1 to shoot and hold it down for the charged up wave shot.

depending how you do you will get a rank (S-D) and receive points and awards accordingly.

Fly over the sea and shoot the crafts down while listing to a custom music box from oLMCo.

Sorry for the shortness but My thermo is about to overheat. The music box from oLMCo sucks a lot of the bar:-(
If any one is good at making a megaman like music box with low thermo please let me know and I may make another pre lbp2 mission if you like the game.

Very nicely designed level. Everything is detailed down to the base area! I really like arcade like shooters on lbp. I really wanna make 1 myself (i have an idea) but cant figure out the logic lol. The movement speed in your level is kinda slow but with practice you can learn to control it. Enemies are a little tough. Theyre accurate shooters lol but I like that in these kinds of levels. Makes it challenging Gave u 5 stars and a heart. I hope you find a way to make the music box take less thermo. Would love to see atleast a 10 min version of this 2010-05-22 02:19:00

Thanks. I made it a bit slower cause I cant make the ship go all the way up the level screen using pistons like I thought I could.:-( so its a short ride. the rest(boss) was brought forward. In lbp2 maybe I can make the up scrolling longer.

In the mean time I think I'll make another and try to make it longer and more thermo friendly ^^.		2010-05-22 02:24:00

This looks amazing, love the pics and the Ship you use looks awesome, ill try this as soon as i get off LBPC, and btw i just wanna point out the great amount of Versatility you have in creating, you made Morbid Despair(Horror) not so long ago and now this (Arcade, Shooter) , great work so far .

Cool. You made an arcade style. I haven't played this kind of level since Gilgamesh's StrikeForce level. Good thing it'll be a lot easier to make this kind of level in LBP2. Looking forward to try it.2010-05-22 17:27:00

Dude I love this O_O Its so short yet addicting. But you only got 13 plays? wtf? how are people missing this? grrr stupid h4h and bob shark levels DIE!!!

just played it. amazing level. xD Nothing much I can say. I love what you've done. It was almost like taking a sneak peak into LBP 2 xD
I didn't like the icon though. DX

Excellent arcade level. The visuals are descent and it felt a bit short but the gameplay is definitely like an old school shooter game [and you even added an old school music]. It's really cool to see the charging laser feature and the ranks that really shows how good you are [I scored a rank B and I got 800 points]. it's great that you used complicated logic tools to make this awesome level but it'll be a lot easier to do in LBP2. JustinArt thanks but the logic is not a complicated as you think. its actually simple :-)

I hate that its short but its just not possible to make a top down shooter going all the way up. maybe on lbp2.
