The Incredibly Annoying Bug that Ruins Creating!

Archive: 8 posts

You know that funny bug that happens sometimes in grid mode, like when you build something with the grid, then build something without the grid, then go back to the grid, the grid changes, and it's no longer the same as it was, so your original creation on the grid now looks as if it is slightly to the right, or left, (or up or down) of the grid spaces. DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT I MEAN? It ruined a whole level for me, because I don't know how it happens, or how to fix it?

Do you know how to fix it? Or avoid it in the first place? Because it's ruining the fun of creating!

If you do know what I mean, and how to fix it, please reply to this thread, or PM me pronto!

When this happens, just grab the offending object with the cursor (While in grid) and move it. It'll automatically re-align to the grid.2010-05-20 20:30:00

That doesn't always work, most of the time it doesn't.

I find it really annoying too, and I don't believe there's anything you can do about it if what Starchy said doesn't work, the best idea, is to build something all in one, don't go off grid mode, don't pause, don't take your eyes off the screen for 1 second. (Slight over exaggeration...)

Really? It's always worked for me, at least I think it has...

Hmm...It could work...2010-05-20 21:49:00

The grid resets whenever you reset popit, but gets stuck whenever you select an object that's NEARLY aligned to the grid but actually isn't. You can test if an object is aligned to the grid by taking out a fresh piece of square material from the popit, turning grid mode on and pressing triangle around the edges (if you hear the delete click on any edge, it's not properly aligned). If you have an object that isn't aligned to grid mode that you want to realign:

Turn OFF grid mode.
Select the object and move it away from where you think the grid is (this takes a bit of guesswork).
turn ON grid mode, select the object, and line it up once again as Starchy says.

Hope this helps!

[Spot on Stuff]

Took the words out of my mouth.

What Holguin has described is exactly what I do in this scenario.

Hmm. Didn't know that worked.

I very rarely have this problem, but for very simple shapes, I'd often just corner edit the vertices back onto the grid, otherwise you might find that move/copy/paste or capture/delete/replace also lets you put a copy of the object back into grid alignment.
