Magnetic Switch accepting multi colors?

Archive: 13 posts

How a bout a magnetic switch that accepts more than one color.
Would save using multiple magnetic switches combined with AND switches.

Maybe.

But you mean, OR switches?

AND switches require two inputs to one output.

OR switches can take one of any input to trigger one output

Well that could be an option too, I was thinking of just requiring both or all the colors.
It could trigger on both colors having to be present like and AND, or function with either like an OR.

Hmm interesting idea, it would be quite nice to have it 2010-05-20 20:32:00

I would think that it would be fairly simple to implement as well.

A Mag switch, which got separate colours to allow differentation between the different colours to allow close logic together, and you want to completely disregard all that and let every Mag key activate every mag switch!!

That really is completely stoopid!

Look on screens of microchip circuitry :> looking on that you can get feeling that microchip works like compressor, putting all switch elements to one point and apply there function to microchip. This means if you put mag keys with different colors in to microchip (let say green and blue) then both blue and green mag switches will react to that microchip 2010-05-20 22:40:00

Maybe you should read what he actually said rather than making two separate (and idiotic) posts attacking his idea.

He said A magnetic switch, not all of them. It's not a bad idea and has been proposed before. I think it would be cool to have a generic mag switch that can be triggered by any color key, or that can be tweaked to accept multiple colors. Really, though, there's not a whole lot we could accomplish with those that we can't already do... but it would still be a nice addition.

We would probably need a new assortment of Magne Key Colors to go with the old ones. I'd love the idea of a Mag Switch accepting (or requiring?) multiple colors. Though it wouldnt be too hard to make otherwise. Just slap many Magne Keys to your Cube of Sponge. Of course, it cannot be applied for every logic that way, and it has its limitations, and we likes our life made easy with Logic. Farewell those extra 2 pixels in the Thermo. 2010-05-24 18:39:00

Yup, I suggested this in a previous post on something (I forget what), but it's a decent idea. TBH, the generic key would probalby be enough, I just like the idea of being able to set your own subset of colours, just in case. And the OR-style function wouldn't even put any more strain on the engine than single colour mag switches

Perhaps mixed colour Mag Keys Left side red, right side blue
Red/Blue Mag Switch to accept only Red&Blue or Red, Red&Blue and Blue?
White for Universal?
Black for Useless?
