Hi

Ok i am embarrased about this so lets get this out of the way, i am NOT a creator. Iv never been able to get my head around the create mode at all. However i gave it a bash with my brother who is better than me to make a simple level and we came to finish and were setting descriptions and names for the level etc but we cant find the place to put the picture you find after the description. You know when you click to play a level and you see the description and you then press right on the analog stick and a picture comes up on the next page... how do you add one?

Bear with me, i have confessed i am no good at creator stuff i just love to play and create costumes!!!

All you need to do is play the level from the server (not from your moon) and take a picture. Then find that picture in your popit and select the "upload" option. It will then have a little world next to it in your popit and will be added to your uploaded photos and the level's uploaded photos.

Note it may take a little bit of time to actually show up on the server, but that's normal.

Hey!

While you're in the level, find the photo you want to add.

Press square on the photo and go to upload and then you're done.

After around 20 minutes, that photo should appear in the description.

I hope that helped!

EDIT: What rtm said! lol

It actually appears almost immediately - the problem is that LBP caches the level info, so it will only appear immediately to players who first requested the level info after the picture was uploaded, which clearly the uploader is unable to do.

I'm not certain under what circumstances the level info cache is flushed whilst the game is running, but shutting down and restarting LBP will definately do it. This will also force an update on other levels stats such as hearts/plays/etc.

Actually, you can take the picture in create mode as well, for sort of a preview...2010-05-20 17:40:00

At Aya: TBH, I'd never really looked into it, I just wanted to highlight the fact that you may not see it straight away, but that's normal.... You'd think they'd think if you added media to a level that the client had cached, it would add that to the local level cache as well though.

Does that actually link it with the level on the server??? I didn't think it did.

Meh. Maybe in LBP2.

No. You can still upload the image, although it'll only be indexed by the PSN IDs of the people in the photo, and the PSN ID of the person who took the photo. I suspect this information is also stored in the JPEG EXIF block when you export a picture to the HD, which I briefly mentioned in a thread on LBW (http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/t5/General-Discussion/How-do-you-upload-a-photo-to-a-level/td-p/196445)...

Actually, looking at an exported JPG in a hex-editor, it does contain an EXIF block which could well store the ID of the level in which it was taken.

[...]

Bear in mind the EXIF spec (http://www.exif.org/Exif2-2.PDF) is a little tough to read, so I might be wrong, but upon closer examination, it looks as if it's not strictly storing the data in the EXIF header, but exploiting the 'Exit IFD pointer' to store some proprietary values just before the image data. I'd have to take a few sample pictures and compare them to figure out which values refer to which attributes.

There's obviously something there, because I can see strings like "SONY PS" and "SCE" before the image data.

...although I never bothered investigating any further, as there didn't seem to be much point.

BTW: It's nothing to worry about that you don't know how to upload pictures. It's easy to get confused when lbp has so many tools, options, and buttons. I didn't know for weeks when I first got the game.2010-05-21 22:23:00
