Has anyone seen this? Backwards compatapility issues

"LOL @ my compatibility spelling" Don't know if this is trustworthy or not. I hope its false. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Little-Big-Planet-2-May-Not-Be-Fully-Backwards-Compatible-with-Levels-from-the-First-Game-142386.shtml | 2010-05-19 16:09:00 Author: Unknown User |
Exploits... I don't think it will be as bad as it sounds. I just think levels with glitches that have already been patched, but are still playable (e.g anti-colour) won't be playable. Since Mm fetured a level with the bakscratch glitch in the Sackies, I'm pretty sure that won't completly dissapear. | 2010-05-19 16:13:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
That would be too bad, but sometimes you gotta roll with it! | 2010-05-19 16:15:00 Author: Aselrahc Posts: 185 |
I just think levels with glitches that have already been patched, but are still playable (e.g anti-colour) won't be playable. I really don't think that's what they are saying, and an interpretation like that is likely to cause a lot of upset, as levels that use a glitch "that has been patched" account for a very high proportion of the levels out there. MM will attempt complete backwards compatibility, but in some cases they may overlook little things here and there. They can't test everything so they can't guarantee 100%, and the chances are if they overlook something it will be some kind of glitch that they were unaware of. That, I believe, is a more reasonable interpretation of the article (which is already being discussed elsewhere). | 2010-05-19 16:50:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
i think major glitches, like theck and thack, layer glitch, anti-colour etc. will be ok. smaller ones might not be so lucky. | 2010-05-19 16:54:00 Author: trip090 Posts: 1562 |
as levels that use a glitch "that has been patched" account for a very high proportion of the levels out there. I'm not really sure how accurate this is. Maybe among advanced creators, but have you looked at cool pages lately? There's no way those guys take the time to include patched glitches. Maybe if you were to say a very high proportion of good levels. | 2010-05-19 17:18:00 Author: thekevinexpress Posts: 256 |
I'm okay with this because I think most levels will work just fine. If they don't, it's possible you can fix them in Create Mode. And if all else fails, your LBP2 levels will probably be way better | 2010-05-19 19:08:00 Author: jjmusicman Posts: 234 |
I think that I will be the only one hoping that all those weird thin/thick layer glitches and messed up textures will be removed | 2010-05-19 22:59:00 Author: Karkle Posts: 11 |
You know what they should do? They should make it so that any level that says H4H on the title becomes non-compatible with LBP2 (I'd say on the description too, but there are many that say "No H4H please" and such, so those would be non-compatible either) lol, well, niot that it would happen tho. | 2010-05-19 23:08:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
