Movie levels?
Archive: 26 posts
I thought this was kind of interesting to bring up. With the full motion cutscenes and all the new camera angles, do you think it would be possible to make a level or series of levels playthrough like a silent cartoon? I think it would be cool not only to think of it as a platform for games but a platform for animation as well. | 2010-05-17 01:35:00 Author: Jaquan1254 Posts: 49 |
Probably. Probably. YAAY!!! SACKPERSON=ME! | 2010-05-17 01:47:00 Author: JspOt Posts: 3607 |
This does sound like a possible LittleBigPlanet 2 trend, but one that takes more skill than shark survivals. We can only wait and see for sure. P.S. I'm in a race to beat ya JspOt!! | 2010-05-17 01:52:00 Author: RJA00000 Posts: 387 |
To be honest, I'd really like to see remakes of classic movies. Whether made with sackbots or materials, It'd be great to see them in LBP. Not only that, but you could make quality original movies yourself. | 2010-05-17 01:53:00 Author: Darth Posts: 186 |
It's not just possible, it says on their site http://www.littlebigplanet.com/2 That with the new cinema tool that allow you to pan, sweep, etc. That you can create music videos, Short Films or entire movies! exciting stuff indeed, now more professional like cutscenes. | 2010-05-17 02:00:00 Author: Maxi Posts: 1176 |
"You no longer have to be an academy award winning film maker to build great game cinematics (although it will help it has to be said.) New cinematic tools make it pretty darn simple to wheel in a couple of cameras into your level, choose the angles, zoom in, make it pan, sweep, fade out, or other technically named camera moves, and then string them all together to tell a story... With these tools there?s no need to stop at cut scenes either; combine the new cameras with Sackbots and you could create music videos, short films or even entire movies. You?re going to be a box office smash." Quote on the site under the subject, Cinematic Masterpieces | 2010-05-17 02:03:00 Author: Maxi Posts: 1176 |
...why just silent movies when we can record sounds? | 2010-05-17 02:17:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
You could do that but I think it would much more interesting with sackboy making his expressions to speak for him. By silent I meant no voice by the way. | 2010-05-17 02:26:00 Author: Jaquan1254 Posts: 49 |
We could do serials like a weekly show and whatnot | 2010-05-17 02:27:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
We could do serials like a weekly show and whatnot Hehe, don't think this is easy thing to do ;] But surly there will be some people who could handle it I suppose there will be even category "Stories" | 2010-05-17 02:49:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Group Projects maybe? | 2010-05-17 02:54:00 Author: Jaquan1254 Posts: 49 |
I know what you were saying, but I just meant that both options are available, not saying silent is bad, but both are options | 2010-05-17 02:55:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
What pops into my head first is to record yourself playing your own levels to help the ones who are stuck. | 2010-05-17 20:35:00 Author: Chamion B Posts: 124 |
scary movies for me. Im so recreating a chamber where people get taken if they are bad to be eaten by zombies; sackbots FTW http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3362/4613095106_315e067704_o.jpg | 2010-05-17 20:39:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |
Well personally this will be a lot better than using magic mouths for e.g Teaser Trailers for a level... | 2010-05-17 21:15:00 Author: DaSackBoy Posts: 606 |
Problem is, there will likely be a rush of badly made movies x.x Although it wouldn't be a "movie" level, i'd love to try and make some of the cutscenes from FFXIII. The sheer amount of camera changes would make for a pretty cool scene :] | 2010-05-17 21:15:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |
I'm going to try to make a remake of Child's Play in cuddly sackboy form. | 2010-05-17 23:02:00 Author: Jaquan1254 Posts: 49 |
Group Projects maybe? There no group projects after given 4-player editing? | 2010-05-17 23:12:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
I'd like to recreate cut scenes from movies (Star Wars, Avatar, Indiana Jones, ect) with sack bots and make them into viewable levels. | 2010-05-18 03:56:00 Author: gamerpon Posts: 49 |
Not only a silent cartoon, but full animated movies since you can record voices and put them in your level. | 2010-05-18 04:38:00 Author: AbstractSam Posts: 332 |

I'm more interested in the extent of the feature. I hope it's robust enough to accommodate all of the expectations. | 2010-06-06 08:29:00 Author: DarkDedede Posts: 672 |
Voice acting. I think in the EDGE article (or somewhere else, check "What we know so far" or even Sackcast no. 16) Mm said you can't use pre-made records and take them to LBP2 (I might be wrong, but I have a stubborn memory of reading/hearing that). Say that you record a clip in-game. Can you send it to other players by any mean? And so arised the profession of Voice Actors. I know I'll need them... if none of your connections doesn't have quite the voice you want... you're doomed to the B-cast forever... If you slap the Sound Object to a block, make an object of it and send it to the director COULD work... but we know so little. Or I know so little. It's not completely off-topic, if you look closely there will be revealed a small path! | 2010-06-06 19:15:00 Author: Unknown User |
