Go Back to V4.0.1 ?
Archive: 16 posts
We upgraded to V4.0.3 recently, but I don't like it. Is it possible to downgrade back to v4.0.1? I've noticed a few bad things about the upgrade, and so far, no good things. You can no longer see which page of the thread you are viewing, this makes it very difficult as you have to remember which page you need to see next. 'What's New' page is looking very weird. It now shows the date the OP was posted when viewing the forum, I don't like that, it makes it look messy and crowded. The first one is the most annoying, and I'm sure the top 2 are glitches, but to be honest, if it only brought bad things, wouldn't it be easier to just downgrade? I dunno anything about that, maybe it's easier to just fix them. But if you could do one of them, ASAP, it's really annoying, sometimes I have to leave the thread and view last unread post because I don't know what page I'm on. | 2010-05-16 19:21:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |

I have to agree, it is a little annoying even though it does show it on the left hand side. It was much easier before when the next page was highlighted. I don't have issues with the other things, but not being able to see the page I'm viewing is rather annoying. Particularly when I go to first unread posts and can't tell if i'm on the last page. | 2010-05-16 19:52:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
I have to agree with all of the above, but mrv has encountered an even worse problem. He sent 2 PM's today about 11.45am and ever since then he can't post anything anywhere. Basically, there are no text boxes for him to type into. So, he can't send PM's, VM's or post on threads. I have sent a PM to CC, so hopefully he can sort it out soon. | 2010-05-16 20:02:00 Author: mrsvista Posts: 755 |

To the left of all of the page numbers is a box that says "Page X of Y". That will always reflect the page you are currently viewing. 2) Care to elaborate? A screenshot would be nice. I'm looking at the What's New page and it looks like any other page of search results I've seen. 3) I'd call this personal preference, not an issue. Regardless, would you like to see the list of things it fixed? Take a look through each (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?346486-Security-Fix-Releases-3.7.7-and-4.0.2-PL-2) of (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?346761-Security-Patch-Release-4.0.2-PL3) these (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?346897-Security-Patch-Release-4.0.2-PL4) threads (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?348372-vBulletin-4.0.3-Maintenance-Release) - they're each announcement threads with a very brief overview describing the things that were remedied in that version. I'll sum it up for you: because we upgraded, we're safer from potential hacking attempts and there are less issues, on the backend and in the foreground, that get in the way of usability. | 2010-05-16 20:23:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
http://i43.tinypic.com/2m5fr6f.png Yeah, it also shows the forum on the right under the poster name, which if it isn't a glitch, is bad info layout. EDIT: Ugh, you can barely see it. Uploading to another site. | 2010-05-16 20:30:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |

Yeah, but it was much easier before, I just can't see why they stopped the page from being highlighted. 2) Care to elaborate? A screenshot would be nice. Instead of taking a picture, take a look at this thread. https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=27090-New-posts - I think it's fixed for some people, but not me for some reason. | 2010-05-16 20:58:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |

Uploading to another site. Upon investigation, I could not reproduce this issue with any browser I have on my computer. I have the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera, and none of them displayed this rendering error. My best guess is your browser needs updating, since it is not interpreting the site's code the way it is supposed to. | 2010-05-16 21:34:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

oh, we can now see which page we're on yay! Took a little bit of investigation into why it suddenly stopped working, but yes, we've got it working again. | 2010-05-16 22:20:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Hey CC, i'm just noticing to glitches here, i can no longer select the "Settings," Profile and "Log out" buttons, its just like regular text, and the profile page, everything that was at the top left is still there, but Profile comments, and all those menuse in there are about 10 - 20 pages below with a blank-nothingness in between, but that doesn't matter that much as i can just press "End" on the Keyboard and it'll take me there. Now i know the PS3 browser its all weird and all, the "profile" button i don't really mind as i can stil click the "Welcome Silverleon" button and it'll take me to my profile, but the other 2, those are kinda useful, and i'd like to ask if there was something that could be done about it? Thank you. | 2010-05-16 22:56:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
