Can anyone with the Pirates of the Caribbean pack let me play the first level with them? It gets me water, and due to some financial difficulties, I can't buy it (if you want details why, send me a PM, I don't want my sob story all over the internet :/ ) Thankyou

Water is automatically uploaded into the game, not earned as a prize bubble. Oh, and since you don't have the pack, then the game will not let you use those features. Sorry to break it to yah. :S

You can't get any DLC for playing the levels with a friend who has it. That'd just be silly

I can't remember the exact details, but i know there is a way to get water. Its either play the first tutorial level from the PotC pack, or its online create with a group in which the leader has water. Now this will only add the water level settings, so you still can't adjust the water during play mode, or use other water related switches such as bubbles, water switches etc. Who knows MM maybe patched it, so this might not work anymore (or maybe they left this so people w/o money don't feel left out, I mean people w/o MGS4 can use paintballs, just not the guns)

People without MGS (I was one until a few months ago) can only use paintballs that someone else captured and made into an emitted object. As water is a global setting, it's not possible to capture in that way.

Actually, yes it is. First POTC level gives you a prize bubble with it in, which CAN be collected by anyone even those who haven't spent a penny on DLC.

I think you are very, very wrong there. Can you provide proof that someone w/out POTC DLC can go play that level, get the prize bubble, and then go on to create levels using water?

If this were true, then no one would buy DLC. It'd be like "Oh can I play your Histroy showcase level so I can get all the stuff?" It just doesn't work that way.

Exactly, Kablooie. That sort of exploit, if it even existed in the first place, would have been patched right quick. Some exploits they don't do much about, some they can't. But when it comes to significantly affecting the bottom line? Oh goodness, that stuff is fixed before you know it. That's how all software companies work. Think about it. Millions of units of LBP were sold, and continue to be sold. Every single one of those buyers is going to want all the DLC. So you multiply several million x cost of unit PLUS an ongoing microrevenue stream for as long as you want to make DLC. There is no way MM, much less Sony, is going to allow exploits that kill that revenue forecast.

With the other kits, it doesn't work that way. Before I got the monster kit, I played the level with a friend, to see what was in it, and it let me collect everything, but not use it. (Pretty annoying to see it in your pop-it, but not be able to use it...) It's not the same with water. It's a global setting, and it's not really as easy to put a lock on it. Meaning, water is the only DLC (Besides paintballs) that you can get for free. Although, you can't use any of the water tools, rendering a whole lot of uses, useless...

It's actually an oddity of the global water settings (not the global water object) that you can actually get the settings to appear in your popit, without having paid for the PotC pack, just by completing the first PotC level with someone who does own the pack. However, since the OP is attempting to encourage what is effectively gamesharing, and discussions pertaining to gamesharing are against the forum rules... Locked.
