Archive: 27 posts

When lbp2 comes out whould you update all your levels and make them better.
I will update my titanic with the sackbots. and if they add any other cool things I will add that if necessary, and if I feel that it would make it look better.

Probably not. I may add some visual touch ups and fix some bugs (you know their will be some), but thats all. I may also remake Act of Giving, if I manage to get LBP2 before Christmas.2010-05-15 04:43:00

I don't have any good levels

But I'm working on revamping my style! Only publishing quality.

Yes, absolutely! Voice overs, custom music, direct control seat for Hacker and Starfighter sequences, possibly even a bigger thermo space: WIN!2010-05-15 10:54:00

They will be updated automatically with better lighting and such. ^.^

I fully intend to move on from platformers, so probably won't edit my old levels.

I won't update my levels, but I may re-create them just to see how awesome LBP2 is.. and how much I have improved 2010-05-15 11:34:00

I doubt it as I'll be too busy learning all the new stuff for ages and then will probably want to make something totally new. Depends how many levels we can publish too.2010-05-15 12:02:00

I have tried maybe a dozen times to update my crystal cave in autumn level to the way it was meant to be, without any sort of success. That will absolutely be one of the first things I do.2010-05-15 12:56:00

I probably won't. If I do, it'll just be minor touch-ups here and there. I don't have a lot of levels, though: just three that I would call real levels: two of them are part one of their respective trilogies...that I never got around to making the other levels for. Actually I have parts two and three made for one of them, but they're waiting until I can get a perfect mech working; I'll probably rebuild them from scratch in lbp2, though, or just abandon them and make a new mech level from scratch. The other trilogy has been on hold while I've had creator's block, but sackbots might be just the incentive I need to get back to work on it.

I'll probably take some of my levels down when lbp2 comes out. There won't be much use for my spaceship level when even the most basic ship in lbp2 will be so much better, and there won't be any need for most of my tech demos when we have better solutions.

I probably won't. I will simply make new levels. I am happy with what I made in LBP1 and I wish to leave those levels as "LBP1 levels".2010-05-18 10:07:00

Haven't made any levels for LBP but I'm about a third done with a really great one, BOOM,BOOM Canyon. I've also started creating a level to finish in LBP2. Also I have a question how can I get one of you guys to beta test BOOM,BOOM Canyon ? Would any of you do that for me? I would really appreciate that. I know that question is off topic but just one comment letting me know would be nice. (:2010-05-18 12:45:00

Well... I won't be updating any of my levels actually, aside from works-in-progress like SackMech. What I will be doing is making sequels to my levels in LBP2 using the new fancy tools and materials. I'm already thinking of how I could go about using the new tools to make a sequel to Strikewing and The Incredible Time Box.2010-05-18 13:04:00

I might upgrade my TV levels, especially if it makes the screen clearer, but generally I'd prefer to make completely new levels, just to learn the new systems.2010-05-18 14:57:00

Im gonna upgrade my Mega Extraordinary Series with Sackbots and DCSs if they do what I hope they can.
Also, if they are adding a non-suicide teleport method i'll re-configure the time machine.

im not even sure if i will keep my lbp1 levels
non of my lbp levels were very good, the only good ones were a few mini games.
my glitch&tricks level got 20k plays, but i feel it was famous for the wrong reasons :S
i would prefer a new start, a fresh one

but i might keep some of my old levels and update them, depends.

I would suggest though,
to not redo your levels first, give lbp2 a few months, get used to it all and create a few other levels first.
this way your lbp2 revamp wont look like crap a few months after you released it,
and if its worth redoing, its worth doing right!

Maybe, but since I have no "good levels" maybe not!

I tell you what is fun though. Looking at your level with a different background. It doesn't suit but is really fun to see it in different lighting n'all.

I have part one done of my Dream Catcher story - and will need a few more levels to compete part 2,3 (and maybe 4). But I feel like if I build them now, they'll already be outdated.

So, my problem is - do I even start building new levels, or just wait for LBP2 to come out???

i only have one published level with 1.8k plays. I have not been able to build a new one because i cant think of an idea. The hardest part of a level for me is actually thinking what to make. Anyhow i will delete my level as it is about 10 months old and i will start a brand new fresh start with LBP2. howether i will keep the level on my create moon because it is my LBP history and it helps me see how i can improve. I also help people with their levels a lot. i like helping people make a better community with fun and vibrant levels. With lbp2 i will start a few projects and that will give me something to do. I will also complete the story 100% first to get all the stuff. play some community levels for inspiration. And get started. so i will hopefully be starting my first project around 2-3 weeks of having lbp2. But hey... The story looks fantastic and so does everything else. I went off topic quite a bit then 2010-05-19 10:39:00

I'd keep them because they show how you changed through your years.

thank you very much I will put a new background into effect.

I can't wait to see them.

I'd wait till LBP2

actualy you did not go off topic because updating your level will require most likely a lot of new stuff.

Same hear I hope LBP2 will double the amount of levels. That would be so cool.
