Wow, six months to go and ive already got an idea in my head?

Hello everyone, with the amazingly useful sackbot AI system COming up in LBP2, i have an idea in my head, that i may be able to pull off, it has Been done before, but with the sackbot AI, i am confident that this will be MUCH better than the ones we have now. Well enough of me blabbering, heres what i am planning to do!: Left 4 Death: an multiplayer zombie shooting fest! Fight off an endless amount of ai sackbots *aka"the horde" To compete for the highscore and achieve TOTAL LEVEL DOMINATION!!

Or, choose the multiplayer- versus mode, to face off against two other friends: Two as the survivalists, and 2 as randomized special infected!
Dont worry, youll still be fighting for your life, as you have two real players, and A horde of infected sackbots, bent of eating your stuffing inside your little burlap body! PLAY as one of 6 special infected!:

The Gutbuster: an unstable mas of quivering acid, it shot at a few times, this zombie will explode! Killing anyone who ends up near the acidic explosion!

The Pouncer! Sneak around the rooftops, stalking your prey, when the time is right,Use your superjump ability to fly through the air, Shocking (literally)any survivor that dares to set foot in your path!


The Spewer! Spew out deadly naucious acid wherever that are any survivalists, to instantly melt them in to a quivering pulp!

The Pulveriser: VERY strong zombie with massive arms, can easily kill a survivor within a hit or two (very rare to get as a special infected)

The Ram! Use your monumentally big arm to charge at survivors 5x the speed of any other zombie! IF used correctly, this attack can squish your victim's stuffing out

The Phsyco! Crazier than most zombies, you are able to run VERY fast, and can kill survivors and break through doors twice as fast!If you see a survivor, quicly run up to them and pull them into any death inducing threat possible! (speed while dragging is halfed, as if it was a normal zombie)

Now that all THATS over with, i can get down to buisness! Implying that i can randomly emit different controll seats and zombies with a death indicator, and possibly a repawn delay, the randomized effect of the 2VS2 is very well possible, however the whole multiplayer 2vs2 thing, all depends if thier is somehow a way that a can get eachplayer to have their own camera.

And almost all of the following playable infected's are a possiblity (that i know of)

Pouncer, using some altered AI on the sackbot to make the superjump, along with any nesssary logic needed to execute the pounce, along with A healthbar HUD, and electrified hands to give the pouncing illusion

Spewer: If i can make sackbots emit things, then ill be able to make the spitter use its spit ability when R1 is pressed.

Gutbuster (working name) Will be able to work, if i can emit the acid, (horrible gas or electricity, and some bombs, carefully hidden on the Sackbot.

The Ram And Pulverizer: The guys will work if i can electrfy the limbs on the Pulverizer's fists, and resize limb sizes. And if i can record a custom animation on the SACKBOT ai with the arms on him, for the attack.

The pshyco is perfectly fine, as long as i can electrify certain parts of the limbs (hands, in this case) and make the AI sackbot tweaked to run faster. Give me ANY feedback, and if possible, some proof if some of my ideas wont be possible so far!

P.s: Yes, this is based on Left 4 dead 2, i have an XBOX 360, sue me! ANd i wouldnt be logical to accept any other project contributers at this point, but when it gets closer to release date (maybe augest-ish?) I will start accepting any willing members! A very big thanks to any future contributor!

Yeah, The limits of sackbots sound pretty endless! (does anyone know how many sackbots can be on screen at once? perhaps the same number as creatures in the first game?2010-05-15 01:31:00

Hmm... okay, i think i may have a work around i wanted it to be hectic, and my mind is around 30-50 for hectic, but with sackbots the size of sackboys, i suppose its going to be hectic enough as it is! The problem is, if i emit 20, with a level that is made already (eg dark city) Will my level instantly overheat? i could settle for 10 on screen at once if it means to have a fancy looking level!2010-05-15 01:34:00

id say settle for 15, because if you emit them zone by zone, they arent officially "in" the level. 8 or 9 in a small room would be pretty hectic. Heck, there arent THAT many zombies in L4D untill the horde comes. If you wanted it to be horribly hectic, mix sack bots with cardboard cutouts that are well cut out. It wont lessen the experience, it will be like a background piece to your actual "agro" group of hostile sackbots.2010-05-15 01:46:00

I wonder if you can split up the screens online? Like, break off from the "community screen"?

Then you could make a stealthy shooter 2P game

that wasn't there before...lol.
about the gutbuster (which I assume is the lbp version of boomer): perhaps let it walk waaay slower than the spewer but his attack is alot more dangerous?

Yeah, thats what i was thinking as well.
Also, i will probobly make the boomer spawn slightly closer to the survivors. (the survivors will be blocked off by walls, confined in an area (it will be big, dont worry) and ill have each infected spawn in different areas, depending on what they are.
EG: Pouncer would spawn on a rooftop, several rooftops away, out of reach for the survivors to spawn camp. and the "boomer" will spawn out of range, but slightly closer to the survivors than any other special infected.

Sounds similar to my Left 4 Planet idea I was trying to build in LBP1. Got put on hiatus due to difficulty building LBP compatible cardboard zombies. (eg. Charger had one arm that intended to squash sackboy to the floor, needless to say, I had catapulting cardboard zombies flying through my level!! D: )

I could help you with it when LBP2 is out if you want?

I read some one said we can record our voices and use them as sound. if this is true I want to try and make a sackbot in to a cool boss hat will trash talk at you while you fight it.

besides that I can finally make a good mech game XD

Umm you do not know that for sure. for all we know we can put 50 in and have a highly detailed level. in some shots I seen on the vid i saw 8 sackbots and the level looked very detailed.
