With LittleBigPlanet 2 coming out soon, do you think it would be foolish to buy the first one? Seeing as LBP2 will probably be much better than the first (IMO) Or do you think it's smarter to buy the first one before the second one? I know, kind of a stupid question, lol. Edit: Whoops, is this in the wrong forum? D=

No, I would buy it. All of the stuff in LBP1 probably won't be in LBP2. And it can kill the wait until it's release in Fall B)

Everything you do in LBP1 can be transferred over to LBP2 (supposedly, and hopefully at that). LBP2 is estimated to be about 6 months away, meaning it'll be quite the wait, especially with all this information pouring in on us and having nothing remotely like LBP to satiate creative hunger (unless you plan to get ModNation). I'd say it's worth it to spend the money on the GotY edition, as you'll also be treated to some costume pieces that will be nice to have for future LBP2 sackbots. Depends on how much money you have though, and whether or not you truly want to spend it.

By buying LBP1 (Game of the year edition if you can) you simply are more than doubling the stuff you will have to create. To me it's a no brainer, you should buy it. (if you plan on creating of course).
