http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtH7AphkuYY Check it out, around the 6:13 mark. This. Will. Be. AWESOME! <3 Edit: They're Sackbots. And I am wrong. Sorry about that. =/ http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/272671-Blackfalcon/671/5/animal0064hb2_display.gif | 2010-05-14 20:19:00 Author: Blackfalcon Posts: 409 |
YES! One step closer to being able to accomplish NuclearFish's april fool CC11 challenge (The one where you make a tardis and it needed to be operated by six players) EDIT: Having seen the vid, I can now say: They're only sackbots. Not other players! =/ ah well ^^ Probably would have had even more lag with 6 players | 2010-05-14 20:23:00 Author: Weretigr Posts: 2105 |
They're Sackbots. But interesting to see them jump around though, they are really quick. :O | 2010-05-14 20:23:00 Author: Zac Posts: 165 |

Go me! http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/272671-Blackfalcon/671/5/animal0064hb2_display.gif | 2010-05-14 20:24:00 Author: Blackfalcon Posts: 409 |
MM is using the same server systems, and adding more than four people could break LBP1 levels, so it's likely that the max will still be 4. | 2010-05-14 20:29:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
I suggest that you can edit the amount of players that can play in the publish menu. That way 1 player levels can't be played by 4. Also it could go up to 6 off line and 40 online. I pulled the figure out of my head and i have no idea what limitations this could cause, | 2010-05-19 13:02:00 Author: Junkyardassissan Posts: 164 |
Sorry rather then , i meant fullstop. | 2010-05-19 13:02:00 Author: Junkyardassissan Posts: 164 |
MM is using the same server systems, and adding more than four people could break LBP1 levels, so it's likely that the max will still be 4. It's won't use same version of this servers that for sure, they may improve it to 8 players support, keep in mind they already need to do Sackbot support that for LBP world exists as players. About old levels, it's not hard to solve, just limit old levels to 4 players, but there only one problematic situation, you got 8 players in pad and you want play old level, you would need to sacrifice other 4 players So 8 players are somewhat possible | 2010-05-19 13:14:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
I feel like having 8 players would be complete chaos....sometimes it already can be with four. That being said, I would still like to try | 2010-05-20 17:58:00 Author: Unknown User |
8 players... chaos... horrifying... OMG... how dare you think of that... evil people... just use Sackbots, they lively up the place... they will rebel... woah mindflow... ... | 2010-05-20 19:05:00 Author: Unknown User |
Maybe if they enabled players spawning from diffrent checkpoints ? Then you could have deathmatches and so. | 2010-05-20 20:36:00 Author: Unknown User |
lol you can make a racing game and record your driving to the sackboy then have 4 more sackbot racers in the race. then it will feel like 8 players. Mario kart any one? :-) | 2010-05-20 20:48:00 Author: Delirium Posts: 349 |
You could have eight players but only in the same sense that Mario Party 7 allows for eight players. Two sackbots would have to be mapped to one controller with each stick controlling a separate sackbot and the shoulder buttons becoming the action buttons and grab buttons. Or perhaps the D-Pad and XO^[] buttons will move the sackbots and the sticks will be used to control the aim of the paintinator. | 2010-05-21 14:07:00 Author: MMLgamer Posts: 183 |
Maybe 4 active players, and x passive players looking at the conundrum there and chatting along? Of course, people could change easily from passive to active. | 2010-05-24 18:41:00 Author: Unknown User |
What i wanna know is how the race works... oh I cant wait to tinker with all the new tools mm's serving to us | 2010-06-02 09:11:00 Author: huntedstorm Posts: 488 |
Yes... Only Sackbots unfortunately, and well more than just 4 can be on screen at the same time. | 2010-06-02 10:17:00 Author: Stephanie_Ravens Posts: 188 |
Maybe you can set up a direct control seat to handle shared controllers? You only need an analogue stick and 3 (?) buttons to control a sack person (if we ignore powerups). You could easily have 8 players then, if using 4 pairs of players, where each player is in the same physical location. Regardless, you could definitely set up a micro-machines V3 style 8 player gameplay like that | 2010-06-02 10:28:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Hmm, I kinda like that concept rtm! The only thing that i want to know about regarding controller is about the Playstation Move, will there be a separat kind of direct-control seat? Or how will that be functioning with the new stuff in LBP2 | 2010-06-02 13:04:00 Author: Tamland Posts: 106 |
I think 4 at a time is enough. But what if we would be able to join a full game, and just watch and chat and ROFL in with them? With an easy turn-switching system, of course (Ask/offer a player to swap places with them, others can veto if one is an idiot not giving up his/her place etc.) A limit of 4 watchers, combining to an total of 8. I would like that more. | 2010-06-02 17:56:00 Author: Unknown User |

Regardless, you could definitely set up a micro-machines V3 style 8 player gameplay like that The best way to make an idea look good is to have others repeat it, so thank you for repeating the idea that I shared three posts before your post. To control sackperson, you only need a stick, a D-pad, a jump button, and a grab button all of which the Dualshock controller has two. If you leave out emotions and limb control, you can move sackbots with the D-pads, aim the paintinator with the sticks, jump with L1/R1, and grab/shoot with L2/R2. That will still leave you with the SIXAXIS tilt control to which you can map certain vehicles or moving platforms you come across during the level. EDIT: You'll probably have to create some mechanism which disables buttons on the second D-pad while opposing buttons are being pressed. For example, if you press Circle, Square won't do anything until you let go of Circle. | 2010-06-02 18:23:00 Author: MMLgamer Posts: 183 |
The best way to make an idea look good is to have others repeat it, so thank you for repeating the idea that I shared three posts before your post. Wow, somehow I completely missed that! I put it down to it being sill waay before noon when I posted Of course, the idea has been around for over a decade at least though The whole thing hinges on being able to choose how exactly to map from direct control seats to sackbots. I very much hope it can be as customisable as we are looking at it, but there is a possibility it will just be DCS -> sackbot and the controls map 1:1 | 2010-06-02 18:38:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
the option to have 8 would be cool, but i'd like to be able to do everything that i can online with my friends offline. they would have to make it an option when creating a level as to prevent the breakage of previous levels. | 2010-06-02 21:36:00 Author: monstahr Posts: 1361 |
Hmmm one simple issue :> PS3 can only support 7 controllers at ones, so in offline there would be only 7 players | 2010-06-03 14:28:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
