One Way Ticket - Re-Published!

Archive: 14 posts

I've just published the 'remix' of this level, taking in the suggestions of LBPC members... I'd love to hear what you guys think of the new version, it looks much the same but has been heavily tweaked to make it much more fun... enjoy

One Way Ticket (Survival)Bovrillor
Stay on the train and catch the falling score bubbles... it's a lot cooler than it sounds so give it a try
I wanted a bit of a break from creating huge epic levels, so for the last week I've been working on this. There's a silly amount of tech off-screen to make it all work!

Lets see some epic high scores

Sorry for poor image quality, phone + psp not a great combo!

Hi, Bovrillor! You create very cool Survival challenge with beautiful environments and very good main idea. I love its me mechanics. And right now I have top score! It is not very high, because you train became high speed express and it was very hard to jump right. And final screen is excellent too! I loved it! And I gave you 5 stars and heart for it! Thank you for this cool level!2010-05-14 14:06:00

This is a great minigame!! I mean it's really well made and great visuals. 5stars and an easy heart. I played this like 10 times lmao!

I think that it should take longer to speed up though. and maybe have bubbles come down in bunches of three. I stayed on rly long but didnt get a great score

Both ideas that occurred to me after publishing ali I did want to keep it hard though, I get bored quickly. Perhaps I'll make an easier version or something, as I kinda forgot all about the score combo bonuses!2010-05-15 10:25:00

Now your level deserves attention.
I enjoyed this level a lot, Bovrillor.

There wasn't any change to the survival.
It didn't get harder at all when you got farther.
This is the only reason I like survivals. I like having to go easy at beginning and then harder later.
This level was the same thing 'til the end.
It wasn't amusing, but I will say this level was very well made.
Although, it's not just looks, but also the intensity.

You got my attention at start, but I will admit you lost it at end.
The level does deserve better attention though, because this level was tight!
I had no problems with your level and that's a good thing.
Anyways, time for your ratings.

Length: N/A
Creativity: 4/5
Corner Editing: 4/5 (It could have been better)
Theme: 5/5
Story: N/A

Total: 13/15

That's a good score, if this were to be school, you got an A.
Therefore, you got 5 stars :star::star::star::star::star: from me.
Amuse me with your next level.

Until we meet again,
-Spark

How do you mean it didn't get harder? The train accelerates to the point where it's physically impossible to stay on it... I can't really throw any more hazards in as they would derail the train. If you have any specific suggestions for improvement, I could try and implement them...

No doubt the level could have been prettier, but I feel in a survival challenge, framerate is much more important than flashy graphics... and having the whole world revolve like that is a real drain on the PSP's resources.

I've finished my remix of the level now, the train accelerates more slowly and there are a LOT more score bubbles to allow combos, plus some audio warnings when the trees come around. Will upload tonight

Hey Bovrillor !!

I liked your survival challenge. It was well designed and looked great too. I hearted this when I played it last week but since you are re publishing it, I will look for the new version and heart it as well.

Wow this was a really inventive and fun level.I agree the score bubbles should fall faster as the train gets faster otherwise it's far too hard. Also the train seems to get extremely fast after a short time, making it near impossible to stay on which was a pity.

Overall though I loved it and gave it a big thumbs up and 5 stars (oh and a <3 too! )

This was a lot of fun! I love the idea and it was very well executed! I personally would have liked more bubbles dropping to get a good multiplier going, but it's really great the way it is. Great visuals, and I love the ending screen! A very nice survival challenge

Thanks for creating and sharing it with us

Hey there-

I loved playing this level. The visual style of this was amazing, it kept a realistic yet somewhat cartoony feel to it. Mechanics were also great, I rarely comment on mechanics for levels but this one seemed very interesting and detailed. The bubble placement is great, and the difficulty seems to rank up perfectly. I liked how at the ending you went to the firey pits below. Another reason I liked to play this level was that i got to see the superstar rare sticker.

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: and <3ed the level.

Congrats on the Spotlight Bovrillor! You read my mind even before the survival level challenge began and created an epic train-hopping masterpiece. I fell in love with it from day one and am thrilled to finally give it the attention it deserves. Great stuff! 2010-06-13 21:53:00
