We'll have two years of eligibility for the LBP1 crown, then 2 years of eligibility for the LBP2 crown (or somewhere thereabouts before LBP3). The LBP1 crown would get a little bit of extra cred, like an antique, but people could still vie for the new one! It'd be fine. Or they could do some "Trip Down Memory Lane" competitions, for LBP1, so that people would have to use the oldschool creation tools to create something to win an oldschool crown. Imagine dusting off the old wenches for some prehistoric logic fun? Cutting out photos of sackpeople rather than using bots.... I have no idea why I'm getting all nostalgic already :s I'm honestly not drunk this time ide like to see a more high techish crown for LBP2 I was thinking that as well for some reason... purple isn't always a girls color. | Unless, of course, they made the old crown available to all. Then it would be just like any other dlc. Right now if you see somebody with a crown, it means they did something to impress Mm (or whoever judges the contests). If they became ubiquitous, they would become meaningless. That would be really unfair to all people without a crown. Y'know some people's idea of "fair" seems really out of whack. I missed the week one shirt by like a week, but it's not like it wasn't fair. It was offered to people who bought the game within the first week and I wasn't one of them. I'm not entitled to the shirt or the cap: they're Mm's to do with as they please. Same with crowns: I've never entered any contests cuz I'm too lazy to try to finish a level in a one month time frame (or maybe I'm too ambitious and none of the stuff I do can be done in a month), and I have no desire to wear a crown. Of course, if I ever decide to make a king sackbot character in lbp2 and the crown isn't available any more, I might kick myself... but I'm not especially into medieval stuff so I don't see that happening. Back on topic, I would like to see something other than a crown but still prestigious. Like a lightsaber or something. Ok, that's random, but I would be WAY more jealous of any Jedi I ran into than a king and I would be all over those contests. Maybe they could do kingly robes and all the people with crowns could try to win 'em to have a full king outfit. It'd be like, "hey, this guy's royalty, but he's also my *****". | This is why I'm waiting for lbp2, hopefully someone generous with a crown will make a simple platformer and have a direct control seat attached to a sackbot from far away, so you could control the sackbot instead of the normal character, and the sackbot will wear a rare costume like a crown. It would be nice as a reward for people that supported them. Then they should avoid to give crowns for costume competitions. There are too many kings with a worthless kingdom... As I feel today, it feels uneven that someone has crowns without actually deserving...sorry but crowns for costumes...against, let's say...From Siberia series... And...wex doesn't have crown, nor poms, nor TOBsn08, nor jackofcourse, nor jump_button... I'm pretty sure all of them do have crowns Wex has about eleventy last time I checked I don't feel it's unfair that certain people get crowns for winning competitions... regardless of what competitions they are. Anyone can enter those competitions if they choose too, most people don't. As for just handing them out to anyone who wants them... That completely undermines the point of the crown TBH, you might as well just bung it in the store at $5 - that'd be a great way to "support" MM I seem to find crowns pointless now... It's never had a point, it's just a symbolic thing. It's a marker for what you achieved to obtain that symbol that counts. I'm not proud of having a dumb costume piece, but I am proud of the Logic Pack and of Subterranean Setbacks... If the crown is given out without there being some particular reason for it (even if that is creating a costume for a competition, or baking a cake), then it becomes nothing. Obviously I speak with sincerity and with an egoistic point of view, but yeah, I support MM from day one, and I mean economically, with pleasure and without regrets. Missing only one piece of content really feels lame for me, and yes, I would want it just for completing everything than for what it means, because I know that I didn't had the time (and lately not even the good will) to spend hours on the game. So yeah, again, as a supporter (people never did the math of how much they spent for every bit of DLC and they better don't) I wouldn't refuse a reward since both the first week shirt and the PSP shirt weren't free, and in Italy we didn't have any kind of pre-order bonuses, since people at local Gamestops stole the voucher and sold them on eBay. So yes, it's egoistic...and quite unfair towards the people that sweated to gain a crown (there's even people who won it with a cake...), but I think that supporting a game FULLY is better than making a sackboy cake...or I could just go to a tattoo shop, have a sackboy tattoo and have MM send me a code for having done a mad LBP thing... Hopefully, with LBP2 on the horizon, they will have an ingame page you can go for levels that they recommend. That seems to me to be a much bigger reward than a costume piece. | LBP.me is infinitely more valuable to me than a crown could be. I like that Mm reaches out to the community and gives individuals a shiny hat - it shows their investment in the game as a medium. But the object becomes desirable in and of itself...and Mm doesn't tell you definitively, "THIS gets you a crown." Leading eventually to a lot of hurt butts. As a creator, I'd love to be able to know who it is that seems to come by and play Lone Ninja 1 a couple times a week. Who IS that guy?! It's my least favorite level. What magic platform juice is in that thing? Imagine a level with only 50 hearts on it...but knowing EXACTLY what made those 50 people dig your stuff. | I dont cair if there is a new crown, im fine not haveing it. Its just when the person (who ever it is) is bragging about it. Eather online on a LBP site or in multyplayer. Thats when i see it as unfair. thats with anything. I was playing online and this person (i would not want to say the name if i even remember it) was wearing the Yellow Head (ace the boss for thoses who dont know) and they keep on saying "we are good at LBP and you are not" or something like that. I lost my data after i aced the boss AND the bunker. Im thinking that it should not be a crown but something difrent, like meny others. It's about the balance of power, haha. Anyway, it's not unfair for people to win competitions and have exclusive bits of DLC. It's not even really being lucky, everyone that has a crown has earnt it and it's mean to try and belittle their achievements or say it shouldn't be rewarded in such a way. That yellowhead story a few posts back is a bit saddening but you'll get that anywhere and everywhere. | I have a crown, It would be great to have somthing new to work for As said before, its not all about the crown but being pround of your achievment, which is true. but ill be honest.... the crown does look cool HOWEVER, I can also understand why many, many people would hate this. Being massive lbp fans there are lots of people who love costumes and getting rare stuff, we cant help it if this the lbp1 crown was stopped, these people would be sad, knowing the would never get it. But honestly.........they would get over it, I was sad about missing the week 1 shirt, even though I got lbp 1 on day 1. but I got over it. I would love to see Mm going down the route of the LBP PSP team (cant remember name), they have multiple rare prizes for different areas. So Mm could keep the LBP1 crown running but also introduce a loads of other rare items: Some of my ideas would be: Other Royal pieces (robe, staff and so on). | I think there should be a new Crown for LBP2, but anyone who has Platinum on LBP1 (pretty much everyone who plays LBP. It's not really very difficult) should get the old one.
