Cooperation Caves (x2)coasterfreak1235
A level to gad over for the lucky ones who have friends playing with them. Virtually for everyone. x4 included!
Update: (minor) polishments and an x4 section! WARNING: this level can/will stress relationships between participants. This level isn't meant for those who can only achieve satisfaction by having 10,000 points more than the unportant assisters. This level is to make moments that last before the happy couple dies (a constant of 10 secs), it's about grabbing others from awkward places, its about flashy signs no one read. This level is a place to enjoy a good company and taste the bitter-sweetish taste of frustration when things go off-sync. This level has a guarantee of LOL-moments with 4, should you ever gather THAT much players for 30 minutes. It is a level to write a weird-ish introduction at LBPC. It is a level for people to play and possibly hurl a controller or two at the cat. Just do it.

About F4F..:
I'm very infrequently at the computer, due to the Almighty One what we call LBP, so apologies if the counter-feedback delays. Also, the create mode is known to attract...

A taster of the enigmatic puzzles to come. I mean, grabbing things? And PUSHING BUTTONS?!?! AND DOING THAT IN UNDERSTANDING WITH A TEAMMATE? O-m-g.

Agh! Pics don't work! Well... youre less angry when you think you missed the greatest pics ever than if you saw the worst pics ever.

I really liked your level, it had some great co-op challenges. It was quite simple gameplay but in a way it was very challenging to work well together. A word about your background and scenery, i liked how you incorperated all the decorations and stickers but i wasn't to exicted about the materials, i didn't feel like they were cave worthy. Add some more rock and those hyroglyfics should blend in a little better. Great level, great gameplay, good overall.2010-05-15 00:25:00

The level is quite fun, I played it once by myself, and another time with my brother, to widely different results of coordination The level looks rather nice, and plays well, and there are a few nice uses of mechanics. I particularly liked the part of the bomb puzzle where you pulled the thing over by swimming inside of it. I did notice these issues though:

On the very first "puzzle" with the two buttons at the entrance, the button on the left is not glued down. This made a rather amusing bouncing platform after we had passed through

The section where the players are meant to hang off each other was a bit hard to master for us, we ended up just swinging across because we kept messing with each others jumps The sign on the left side was a little annoying, as it was right in front of the area the player jumps from.

The puzzle with the water and explosives didn't work all too well to me. The flipping grab switch thing ended up killing one player, and then it stopped flipping entirely, somehow the grabswitch logic wasn't functioning properly.

Overall, it was quite fun. :star::star::star::star: for you

Thanks for the fodderback, I'll fix the spin door when I gets back in touch with my PS3 (2 days after the time of writing). And I'll create an x4 also!
And I'll gad over some materials, see if I come up with something to look at

These moments make me really glad

Hey, I finally got to play this with my friend. XD Great level, a lot better then I expected. I loved the clever idea of actually USING your partner as an OBJECT. That was really great. The visuals were great, there were a few awkward things like at the beginning when you have to swing through the chained ropes, kinda weird. DX But other then that I have no complaints. I liked it. :star::star::star::star:.

Thanks for the feedback on my level.

Overall, I was mightily impressed with this. The visuals are wonderful, very MM in their quirkiness while staying tightly within your chosen theme. The gameplay is excellent! As said above, the idea of using your playing partner as an object to get past obstacles is quite clever, and unexpected. I had only seen that in one game before, and you did it much better.

I have only two problems with this level.

1) It is too short! MOAR PLS.

2) In the semi-underwater section where you have to blow open one barricade, swim over and grab a.. grabby thing to set off the bombs to let your partner through, the person doing the grabbing always dies. That's not really fair to the player, I think, as there are no other areas in the game where you get zapped like that.

Seriously though, please do more of these. Very well done.

I did check out your other levels, and they are uniformly extremely good-looking. The only one I didn't much enjoy was Plain Platformer. It looked great, distilled platforming down to its essence (same idea as I was going for with the AP series before I realised an amusing and slightly sick story could be told), but it had two major problems. First, it was way, way too long. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the other problem; it wasn't all that much fun to play. The point of LBP is the utter madness, bouncing and careening around. With such precision platforming, fun isn't so much part of the equasion, at least not for gamers like me. Sorry.

Thanks for the review, -roux, and don't worry, it's sick and twisted brainchild is on it's way... now forcing teams to use paintinators ways they were never thought to! 2010-06-21 13:22:00
