LBP 2 Qore video

i found the lbp 2 vid from qore on youtube for anyone who wants to see it

Video Information:

1. Sackboy can, at will, do flips, presumably using the right stick whilst jumping.

2. The costumes can be shaped in a variety of ways including new flat costumes.

3. You can change the length and width of a sackbots pieces.

4. You can make anything follow you whether it has moving parts or not, example given is a light.

5. Older costume pieces are brought back with some unexplained new actions. (No detail given)

6. You can change different attributes of sackbots, like how shiny, texture, etc..



Extra Information:

Some new costume pieces include a new knight helmet with some glowing armor, includes a glowing sword and shield, you can use the 3D glasses as well.

You can also change sackboys shape using different items of clothing.

There is also somewhat of a birdcage helmet.

you can collect the story mode character's costumes.(larry da vinci etc...)

There's tons of exclusive LBP2 footage there to dissect. From what I saw and heard, there was:



More video of the grappling hook in action. It appears that you can contract and expand the length of the attached electrical beam that connects you to the hook!
More video of the jump-pads, giving us a glimpse of how reactive they are and how they can be manipulated to launch Sack-boy to variable heights!
More video of (most likely) in-game levels
More video of the "tubes" in action.

yea. LBP2 creative director (name?) mentioned the 3d glitch... they KNOW about it, so i believe it will still work come LBP2. or at least old multi layer levels will work still.2010-05-13 19:08:00

Yeah, in other words, nothing new. Sorry, just awaiting more announcements. Yeah, it hasn't even been a week and I am already expecting more info.

I'm not sure flips are "at will". I think it might be a bounce pad animation. It looked like the same flip every time, which would rule out the stick control. I'll rewatch it - I have the Qore episode loaded...

UPDATE: I lied. Right after hostess says "blow our little minds", a sackgirl does a 180 spin from a running jump.

I would also agree that the grappling video counts as "new". The video in Qore specifically shows it being used as a precision-aim instrument. I guess it's implied in that one magazine still where sackboy is blagging a cupcake from off a shelf, but it was neat to see that "reel in" isn't a single button push, like in Bionic Commando.

I think the hazards moving along a track in that dark level were interesting. Were they programmed to follow that route using new logic or can they be created using the current toolset?

Also, news that I don't think many people have picked up on, we now have proper sack-tracking! The light in some of the dark levels actually follows sackboy around, and I'm pretty sure that this could be extended to work for a spotlight or gun turret or whatnot.

Wow, I've played all of those LBP levels they showed.. Even that crazy piano one with the bouncy Note up top... That's pretty cool ... This video definately gives me a better picture of what LBP2 is going to be like, there was TONS of information in it, but I'm still itching for more...2010-05-21 23:38:00
