Hi guys i cant wait for little big planet 2 comes out. So anyway i was on the LBP2 website and i found this http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1107/4602838271_0a45177ac1_b.jpg go to the link after reading the post any way it the source code for the lbp 2 website i found it very intresting. but i kept reading on and on and it had tips on how to make html based website, cool eh? but i got to the end of the post and i found this http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1324/4603453172_3ab0ab8f00_b.jpg best to look at this one though. If you look at it carefully you can spot when the website was made? Its says it was made in 11/13/2009 1:54:40 PM so does that mean they had the game in development for that long any ways correct me if im wrong Soverso out | 2010-05-13 08:00:00 Author: Sim725 Posts: 247 |
Well I recall hearing that they were on making the sequel before they got taken over by Sony. So yeah, they have been working on it for quite some time. Although, that date could be the date that the Tag Builder v.3 was made/last changed (see line above the date). | 2010-05-13 08:17:00 Author: mnimmo1986 Posts: 552 |
That's probably why it has such an early presumed release date (Q4, 2010). I suspected that this game had been in development for quite some time. | 2010-05-13 08:17:00 Author: KablooieKablam Posts: 364 |
Of course it's been in development for a while they don't throw games together in 5 minutes. The new web features they mentioned were talked about a year ago http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3174332 so november last year could just be the time numerous enhancements to LBP 1 had grown enough to justify making a full on sequel. | 2010-05-13 08:19:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
You forgot to include... "We use Shadowbox because it's flexible, plus it smells of freshly minted buttery potatoes" That pretty much sums up the whole site for me. Nah, anyway. It might just be from when the tag-thingie was made... We should just straight up ask Mm how long they were working on this for. | 2010-05-13 13:13:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |
A long time. Considering the fact that the grapple is clearly based off a swingshot, I'd say some of these ideas would go back as far as that R&C content that never got released. Of course, at what point they decided to push for another game, rather than DLC, is another matter as we know that LBP2 is effectively an organic development on the original engine. You could say they've been working on this for 5 years | 2010-05-13 13:32:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Mm said on twitter that they hid a crown code in that HTML! I don't know who found it. Hmph. | 2010-05-13 13:47:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
1. The game has been in development for over a year.... We can't just make a whole game overnight you know 2. That bit of code is a stats tracking thing, and contains the date that stats tracking id was made, which is the date we launched littlebigplanet.com | 2010-05-13 13:49:00 Author: Spaff_Molecule Posts: 421 |

Wow, I just looked at the source of littlebigplanet.com/2 It's the most fun I've ever had looking at code. My personal highlights were: Welcome, friendly peruser of HTML. <!-- Old school IE toolbar ignorerer --> <!-- Icons. They iconize. --> <!-- Stylesheets. They stylize. --> <!-- Javascripts. They javascriptorize. --> <!-- If this were to be enabled, you would see gridded beauty like no other. Hashgrid is the best. --> <!-- Like a mother-in-law you've never gotten on with, you simply have to bite your tongue and be nice to Internet Explorer. --> Lol. I <3 Mm. | 2010-05-14 00:03:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
