Sackbots will take over Sackpeople!

Sackbots might take over Sackpeople! You might be playing as a sackbot instead of a sackperson! They can do everything sackpeople can and more!

-They are made out of wood ( and other materials ( so they are can't be blown up) unless you change them to blowupable material)

-They ( probably ) are immune to hazards

-They can become bigger ( or smaller )

-They can disguise themselves

-There are an infinite amount of them

-They are Robots! :kz: ( robots always rebel )

-They can DANCE!

Do you think Sackbots will make Sackpeople obsolete or not?

Not necessarily. Surely, they will be extensively used as avatars of second skins (I know I'm making me some Power Suits! ) but they're exactly just that. For one, their presented invulnerability eliminates all challenge from the game, and if you're going to go through the trouble of making them be identical to a sackboy, you may as well just not implement them. But yes, they will be use extensively.

Also, Sackboys can also dance

No, i doubt they will be able to open pop-it. i remember watchinh an anylsis of the trailer and the square botton was the button chosen to enter/exit direct control seats (unless this thread means controlling the sackboys with another method)

Well, I'll be using them for sure.
In my L4D2 level, for example, I need to use Sackpeople with custom logic, microchips, and direct control seats on their head (for jockey control lol) and I need them to look a certain way, so you'll have to choose between 1 of 4 sackbots to beat the level

Sackboys and sackbots are the same thing. A sackboy is our sackbot. A sackbot is a sackboys sackbot.

It's confusing but sort of makes sense. At least it does to me

No, they won't, maybe for some solutions sackbots will be mostly used, but still in game mechanics player sackboy is player sackboy and he got main role in game mechanics2010-05-19 21:57:00

They can be customised but they won't truly be custom content. I still want to create characters out of the materials and animate them. Can't wait to see what people do with those bots though. Probably tear them apart and use their limbs as toothbrushes or something.2010-05-19 22:07:00

I think main propose of sackbots will be role of movie actors and NPCs for levels with story (just look on amount of levels in LBP1 that use sackstickers and think that they will be replaced with real sackcharacters )2010-05-19 22:37:00

Im pretty sure those are all only OPTIONS. And im sure MM would be smart enough to add in an option to make them vulrunable,or non vulurnable to hazards.2010-05-19 23:11:00

It will be a lot like a real video game. The Sackboy will obviously be used if the player is meant to stay alive/figure out puzzles/etc, but it would be convenient to have Sackbots for things like cutscenes.2010-05-20 03:57:00

I can't understand why people are against Sackbots, they can make a dance show for you, they can show limitless love for you, they can mimic you, they can have any expression as you, they can be controlled by you, they can populate your worlds, they can look like you or anyone else... anyone still who says they're for n00bs, do a cardboard cutout capable of ALL that and won't break the thermo in half.
And for that rebellion thing, wasn't there a theme called Neon Propaganda?

I can see people makeing levels where you play as sackbot dressed up as sackboy as a character and playing through that characters sory. RPG like and so on.
Plus think of this. you make a sackbot look like megasackman and fix him up with a blaster on his arm and set the control pod as controlled. DTA DA! megaman game play XD
