Archive: 26 posts

Now this information might excite you, but remember it can change. Plus this is not necessarily official. I found this as I was browsing Gamestop.com
I searched Little Big Planet, and a link for the second game came up! It said that Pre-Order Ships 11/23/2010
If you wish to see this for yourself, here (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=77854#)is the link!

Gamestop always puts random dates up when a game is pretty far off...

It's most likely a guess...

I doubt the would just put up a guess. And anyway, november seems like a very reasonable time for it to be coming out.

I think i saw somewhere someone saying Octiber 5th.

I hope that's correct (altho it probably isn't) since that'd would make it a pretty swell birthday gift.

EDGE said it was releasing in winter, but another source (i forget which one) said autum, so a november release date is perfectly reasonable!2010-05-12 02:21:00

Publishers are sending "placeholder dates" to stores very early. That's simply how it works. This is not the release date but just the placeholder date of Gamestop.2010-05-12 03:12:00

I hope it comes out in October, the same time as LBP. I don't know, I'd just think it would be fitting. Hopefully they don't put any more offensive-to-Muslim songs!2010-05-12 12:16:00

TBH, I think what we can take from the info available is that Sony are looking at a release in time for xmas. Beyond that, I doubt anyone (even the devs) know exactly when it will be done 2010-05-12 12:29:00

Gotta be honest here: in my experience with how the whole game development process works, even Mm doesn't know for sure exactly when they're going to release the game. A big part of being ambiguous with a game's release date is to allow for wiggle room if they need it, which this game looks like it will benefit from. Setting a game release in stone from this far away is a poor idea unless the game is nearly finished already, and I doubt Mm's done adding bits and bobs to the game as of this moment.2010-05-12 14:47:00

As much as I want quality assurance on this game, I do hope it gets released sooner rather than later. October would be fine 8D2010-05-12 16:23:00

Bahh I bet it wont be finished until next year. They delayed LBP alot, then why can't they delay LBP2? 2010-05-12 16:36:00

They did? I only remember them pushing it back to get rid of some song because a religion took it offensive. Thats all the ones I remember. But...idk It does seem like a reasonable time frame and they did say they were working on this for awhile.

Was announced at GDC in 2007 with an autumn 2007 release planned and ended up being pushed back a year.

In all honesty at this point in time and when you see placeholder dates appear in stores, publishers are knowing AT LEAST the month they target for release and many alreayd know their release date. This if not only because a well planned prod is having a release date "planned" almost from the start but also because platform holders NEED that info to create their business seasons and then create forecasts for their shareholders. Sony KNOWS what they want to release on PS3 this fall and this is why they can tell you right now "we are expecting X amount of profit or loss yada yada, etc" at the end of the fiscal year.

A release date is never set in stone 100% as, of course , stuff can happen but you can bet Media Molecule and Sony knows the date for LBP2 as we speak.
