Need help removing items en masse

Archive: 3 posts

First off, I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask this, so sorry in advance if it is. So the main obstacle in the level I'm currently working on has been spikes, but I just realized I've been using the small spikes, and would like to switch over to the larger set of spikes to reduce the thermometer. Now this poses a problem, because I haven't found a good way to go about removing the spikes currently in my level. Removing them individually will take a massive amount of time, because there's probably about upwards of 200 spikes along the floor. Additionally, if I try to lasso them with the popit it ends up selecting everything that the spikes are glued to. Does anyone have a good way to go about removing them without having to dedicate a huge amount of time to removing them, or a way to do so without having to completely rip apart my level? Thanks in advance.2010-05-11 22:28:00

Just lasso them bit by bit, you don't have to get them all at once, you can select a bunch that won't catch anything else when selected and delete them, i know its not THAT much better, but its a lot better than picking them 1 by 1, right?

Hope that helps!

(Also if the floor(s) attatched to them aren't glued to anything else you could simply un-glue that and then elect the spikes and keep the triangle pressed to delete them all.)

Lasso the whole lot of spikes. Everything they are attached to will be selected as well, but only by dotted lines. This means you can detach all spikes at once, then delete them, without affecting the rest of your level. Note: Once lassoed, don't try and move anything, because you will pull the rest of the level along with you.2010-05-12 09:05:00
