I will!!! I was one of the lucky ones who got the early code for the demo that comes out today, and I LOVED it! How about you, Fastbro? You getting it?2010-05-11 22:11:00

I love cart racing games.

I'm getting this for psp and ps3 I have the psp demo and have played around with the editor, they don't give you a lot of things to create with in the demo but it is a demo and what I did with it was fun.

I MIGHT get this game. Sadly, I just bought Monster Hunter Tri, and I don't think I'll have the money to buy it because I will probably spend that money for mandatory stuff in life.
Although, if I get just enough from saving up my money, then I'll have a slight chance....

Now I'm not sure actually... because I have to pinch a LOT of pennies to afford a PS3 with my job this summer, and if I can't get a PS3 in time for LBP2... *How could this happen to meeeeeeeeeeee....* well not really, but I will be pretty irritated. I think I'll still get it, but that will mean I'll skip Other M. Oh well, I could always homebrew my Wii and pirate it. I don't know, but count me as a "probably".

I'll be getting it for both the PSP and PS3. I may buy the PS3 copy used after a short wait, but the PSP version will be a launch day purchase.

Of course, this means that Trine, Braid, Savage Moon Hera Campaign, Echoshift, and FF7 will all be bumped down my to-play list. Again. They're all purchased and collecting dust until I can get around to them.

I'll be picking up the PSP version on day one. But the PS3 version will have to wait. There's that game about the intergalactic Italian plumber also coming at the end of the month!

How did folks get early access to the PSP demo?

I like racing games and arcades, but I tried demo today and cancel my pre-order for this game. It is some mix of Track Mania from PC and Mario-cart 64 from Nintendo 64. It has cool graphics, nice gameplay, but there is no such "drive" as we saw in MotorStorm. and in track editor mode there are so limitations in track drawing that I much disappointed. And the track length is to small IMHO. I loved only terrain deformation tool - real cool feature. So when we will get final version I firstly will read all reviews and only then maybe will buy it.2010-05-12 13:00:00

Sony sent emails containing codes. You enter in the code, and download begins. amazingflyingpoo, me, taffey, fastbro (I think), and some other people around LBPC got the codes. On the blog, they said you got it if you were subscribed to Qore. But most of us weren't, so I guess it was random...

Ah, you should! A game like this needs players to have players!!!Yes, it certainly does, especially our group around here. Perhaps if we make enough sad faces we can guilt xero into buying it.

There, how's that? Also, xero you have to get it because you're pretty close to my time zone: I'm GMT -7. Where are you Insane?

I'm pretty close too: GMT -5. So, Taffey, assuming you got the game, what time would work best to you to lose to me online? (You ARE getting the game, correct?)

Oh dear. Well... I do need more PSP games since I only have 3 (4 if you count my downloaded Final Fantasy VII, best RPG of all time btw, go get it if you don't have it). Unfortunately I agree with most of the things that the IGN review has to say, though I did seem to get used to drifting a lot quicker than that fellow did. In about 20 minutes I was drifting corners well, but of course I still over-drifted here and there, slamming into the inside walls of the turns.

Being the creative mind that I am , my heart lies with this game's track editor. The only issue is that it's hard to judge just how good it is, since you only have an extremely limited selection of items and props available in the demo. Based on what I've seen however, if I get this game I could easily spend 90% of my time making tracks and not playing them. Also, I noticed the IGN review mentioned a lack of sense of community... which would be true normally, but not if you're organizing these games via community forum here! That solves one problem.

Still... I might get this game, simply because I don't have many PSP games, and games with user-generated content are always welcome additions to my game library. We will have to see.

So who here's gonna fail the most at this? Right now it seems to be between me and Taffey, does anyone else know they're gonna suck?

If we get enough, we can start the Last Place clan.

As for good times to race.. Well, during the week I tend to have about an hour of downtime right when I get home from work, so say 6pm-7pm my time. I'm then usually available from 9pm to 11pm or midnight. The weekends always vary quite a bit, but assuming I'm not out of town for some reason (e.g., camping) then I'll be available after dinner to the wee hours of the morning - 1am or later.

I bought a UMD copy on Saturday! So far I am really enjoying it. I've already made some pretty cool wee mods but I had to win a lot of races first in order to have a good amount of customisation options to play with.

Once you're used to the controls the game is really fun!

One thing that concerns me; I haven't been able to find a way to make the track cross over itself in the create mode. I'm beginning to think this isn't possible.

I've bought it, downloaded it, and am just transferring it to my PSP.

I have HIGH hopes. It's not going to be LBP though.

I have HIGH hopes. It's not going to be LBP though.I'm with you on that one. Only 29 hours to go before it's supposed to be on the US PSN store. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they don't delay the download version like they did with LBP PSP.

The online entitlement is ONLY if you buy it preowned.

Its no LBP. But still a lot of fun. The Career mode has some excellent tracks.

Ps. I've uploaded 2 tracks. "Tiki Pass" and "Sunrise Bay"

Actually, I think it's in the US too. If you download the game from PSN, or buy it (UMD) new at a retailer, then you're fine. Don't worry about it. If you get it used, though, you'll need it to be able to go online. The download should work online for no extra fee, though. The UMD should have a code you need to enter, but then you get the entitlement for free.

I'm pretty sure this is how it works. Sony did it before with, um, some shooting game whose name happens to escape my intelligent mind at this moment when it is most needed.

*~*~*EDIT*~*~* Posted at the same time as Fastbro. He was right! And so was I!

Yep, my UMD copy came with a code to allow online access. Haven't used it yet though - I'm still working through the career mode. I don't like moving onto the next race until I've completed all three objectives for each race.

I'm disappointed that the create mode doesn't allow you to cross the track over itself (like a figure 8) or make shortcuts since the PS3 one seems to allow this. I guess I'll get over it though - it is pretty amazing to be able to make tracks of this quality in a handheld game anyway.

Fastbro, I'll download your tracks as soon as I'm near a hotspot! (I don't have wifi at home).
