There will (probaly) be GRAVITY!!! 8D

in the official trailer look at the popit when it's on global settings... gravity! Although I might have been looking at sackbot settings then... but anyway now we can be excited for something other than an "escape the stone breaker level on a bird made of glass and run away from the sharks that have lasers on their head and grapple the random objects" level...![]() | 2010-05-11 20:14:00 Author: octopus_567 ![]() Posts: 116 |
sounds awsome ![]() | 2010-05-11 20:18:00 Author: flamingemu ![]() Posts: 1872 |
There's definitely gravity, unless they remove it for some reason (Which is quite possible, by the way). But yeah, chances are, we're going to have gravity! ![]() This will improve space levels so much! And, I wonder what happens to water in low gravity... | 2010-05-11 20:25:00 Author: Doopz ![]() Posts: 5592 |
Doesn't everyone know this already? Most people say the way the races are gonna work is camera trickery and making the gravity be the opposite of the camera direction so it looks flat. | 2010-05-11 20:26:00 Author: Psibat ![]() Posts: 27 |
Maybe in negative gravity the game would go upside down or you would go upwards...![]() | 2010-05-11 20:27:00 Author: octopus_567 ![]() Posts: 116 |
This is exactly how the racing works. | 2010-05-11 20:30:00 Author: SmellyBadger ![]() Posts: 23 |

I can see that working, if you see my sig you can see the background flat as you suggested | 2010-05-11 20:30:00 Author: flamingemu ![]() Posts: 1872 |
I can see that working, if you see my sig you can see the background flat as you suggested Erm I'm not sure you understood what I mean. The ACTUAL background in the pic looks the right way up, the ground they are driving on is probably just a flat plane (the sort you'd use to make a home made background) and has got gravity on it as opposed to up and down. It's hard to describe. I'm sure I've seen it described somewhere. CRAP CRAP CRAP MISREAD IGNORE ALL OF THE ABOVE I THOUGHT YOU SAID CAN'T But yeah the idea still stands Also sorry (This talks about other stuff too but it does mention how it might work) http://playstationinformer.wordpress.com/2010/05/11/littlebigplanet-2-can-flip-objects-and-theyll-auto-scale/ | 2010-05-11 20:50:00 Author: Psibat ![]() Posts: 27 |
The problem with using gravity for races is: the positioning of the sack. Unless there's something we haven't been told about yet it SHOULD look like the sackboy is sitting on his back. | 2010-05-11 21:57:00 Author: octopus_567 ![]() Posts: 116 |
What i'm not sure on is how the rat legs move, because in lbp1 that wouldn't be possible :/ | 2010-05-11 22:25:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
Ooops, sorry about the double post ;p | 2010-05-11 22:36:00 Author: Asbestos101 ![]() Posts: 1114 |
EDIT : Things can't rotate on the Z axis (ie towards the camera) so maybe the legs are just covered in fur moving up and down? I thought they were moving up and down after I learnt about the camera angles. Or who knows, maybe they'll add rotation like that too? Or I'm wrong all togethor | 2010-05-11 22:46:00 Author: Psibat ![]() Posts: 27 |

Look closely at the trailer at the go kart bit and rat race bit... they are sitting on their bum ![]() | 2010-05-12 01:56:00 Author: ryryryan ![]() Posts: 3767 |
