Arbitrary Platformer 2: Electric Boogalooroux-
Similar to before.. pure platforming fun. Jump, dodge, race, fall to your zappy death. All in a day's work for a Sackboy captured by a sadistic mastermind...

1P only please. 2P won't work very well.

Hi Roux

Really nice looking game, and I enjoyed the fact that there were no hints, but had to give up. The room where you shoot the thing in the wall to make the platforms rotate 180 degrees, did that, got the prize bubbles behind, shot at the door where the spawn point is on the right, got a '!' no idea what happened, run around for at least five mniutes shooting EVERY THING, but cant get any further door to the left wont open...., is it broke or am i doing something wrong? If i'm doing something wrong, then obviously, it isnt obvious what i have to do, so sorry, but may try again when you reply.

I apreciate this isnt a proper review, but what I saw i liked very much, just a shame I had to give up.

If you could F4F my level 'spider mech tank walker' that would be great, ta.

Did you not notice that all the spinny platforms vanished and were replaced by one big platform at the top of the stairs? The magic mouth should have showed you that.2010-05-11 19:31:00

Thats of no help what so ever. I re played it thinking maybe the game had just broke the first time around, and that I would give you the benefit of the doubt...SAME ISSUES!! Sure the magic mouth shows you there is a platform, but it has no purpose. This is MY view, and we will see if anyone else gets any further than I, but I STRONGLY suggest you rethink this part of the game.

Have you gone on that platform? Notice the gap on the area behind that, where all the score bubbles are? Go back there, go to the right. The only issue, sorry, is that you aren't paying attention to the level. Nothing there is broken.2010-05-12 19:28:00

Soundss cool, I'l get right at it now then post a review.

Okay i loved the begining where you shoot the little blocks out. your level is very clean, but now im at the part where there are a whole bunch of electric platforms and have shot everything alooooott of times and all i can get to happen is make the second platform turn up and idk how i did that :O. The objective it not clear, but im still working on it. OHHHHH okkay past it, and i see what the above person ment. i believe you should paint the door that disapears with the exclaimation mark green so its more noticable as a door. Thats what he didnt see, but i did. Okay on with the lvl! Okay now im at the part with the green hampster wheel, im stuck, i did it and made all the blue lights dance and still nothing is happening. Still working on it.
I DID IT. Okay i oddly liked this level alot, i thought it would be just another one of those clean tech clones, but despite a few errors this was really fun! A few obstacles in particular was the emmiting block thing and where you swing on green hanging circles dodging blue plasma balls!!! xD 5 stars man, i love discovering low rated levels that are 10 times better quality then some 5 star levels, and also a HEART!
Oh look i made it go up one in overall rating!

Problems so far: 2
1. When you are in this inclosed area close to the begining and have to use a sticker to make a green platform rise you up, its easy to get left behind. I placed the sticker when i was on the wrong layer and had to restart.
2. When you get to the race, you can actually walk right through the starting gate!!

If you would like to return the favor and play my level (though no one does -.o) its called "Bit Strange, a little Wicked (1 Player Adventure) v.4.0" by angiefaramarzi You can find it on the first or second page of the level showcase.

Thanks drei. I was very tired last night... I like the visual tone of your level, but the gameplay is way too precise in a few places; one pixel off and you're falling down. Will review more in depth tonight after work.

I'll fix that first problem tonight. The race gate seems to be a bug :/

Ok I played this and it was pretty good until it broke. More on that later though.

Pros
-The intro looked great with the title (though I'm not sure what a boogaloo is) and your name. I liked the lighting and effects.
-I liked the whole clean design of the level.
-The stairs that opened up to let you out were really cool, good overall level design

Cons
-I couldn't read the first magic mouth, I was reading it and something killed me, sorry I can't be more specific. And I don't think it was purposeful, no one in the world can read that fast (I read like the first two words).
-After I used the white sticker on the green block that platform started going up, but it didn't go up all the way or even enough to jump up to the next area. Seems like you need to make the platform a little smaller so it can slide up all the way.

I'd be happy to play this again if you fix that little bug. I gave it 3 stars, but that could easily go up if I can see the ending.

Boogaloo is just sort of a joke about sequels. $name 2: Electric Boogaloo is just one of those things. Google it maybe.

I'm not sure what's up with the timing on that magic mouth. I've tweaked it and tweaked it. I'll go have a word with it.

And GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I hate it when platforms stick. I'll go fix that right now, grrrr! *shakes fist at the vagaries of things moving one freaking pixel and screwing it all up*

Where the score bubbles are, yup, continue right, yup, come to a small doorway with a green floor and NO WAY OUT. I think this is what the user above meant too.

Your levels look and are great. They should be difficult, but being so complex that only you, the creator, can work it out, means that people won't play and give you the hearts and stars you really deserve for this. I mean, beyond that one confusing part, there is surely a lot of great stuff that you have taken time and effort to create, so why not give people a fair chance to see that? Looking at the stats, it does sadly appear that most people give up before reaching the end.

Two stars, hoping to give it more when I see the rest of the game. Fix these things and I am sure your rating will go way higher.

EDIT: There is nothing broken, only my eyes and my lack of understanding about switches in the game (if I were a creator myself, this level may have been more obvious).

So, played the rest, well, most of it I think, I gave up near the end because each time I died there was too much to do to get back to where I was. That's not a complaint though, it was just late so I am going to try again later (sometime between the Germany game and the England game --> World Cup).

Oh.. the place where I gave up, there were platforms to jump across and little falling balls of plasma; sometimes the little balls stopped falling down after I jumped on the first platform. Other times they didn't stop, so I'm guessing this is a glitch (makes that part of the level easier but it's a shame if this wasn't your intention).

All in all a good level. Gave it 4 stars and hearted.
