Delay Switch Inconsistency (Vault vs. Beg. Tutorial)

| Hello! I just found your Logic Pack today and it is going to be a lifesaver. I'm going through the tutorials now at a pretty decent clip, but I've run into a bit of a problem. It's probably not a deal breaker, but I noticed that in both the landslide tutorial and the elevator tutorial you use a delay switch that is not the same as the one that is distributed in the vault. The one in the vault is 3-4 times bigger than the one in the screenshots. It's most likely the same switch turned a different way and with the screenshot taken while the piston is compressed. But either way, I am probably not the only person who could be easily unnerved mid-tutorial when I glance at the screenshot and notice our delay switches look nothing alike. Actually, now that I'm three paragraphs deep into this topic I'm not sure what I was planning on asking. I guess my concern is: will the tutorials work with the delay switch as it appears in the vault or might there be some minor issue that could cause a bigger problem? And if it won't work, how could I go about copying/editing the one from the vault to make it similar to what's in the tutorial thumbnails? | It works just the same. The only difference is the distance that the mag key covers before activating the mag key switch. The only important thing is the timing, which is consistent (to enough of a degree). Thanks for looking out, though. | 2010-05-11 02:44:00 Author: comphermc  Posts: 5338 |
| No problem! To the creators' credit I likely only noticed because everything else from the levels, to the vaults, to the written tutorials is wonderfully consistent throughout. Now that you mention it, using a delay switch that starts at full length is probably better . This way I know how much room it's going to take up before I place it.
