Does anyone else feel... Old?
Archive: 27 posts
Well, here we go. The trailer made me realize what LBP was all along. It was like seeing LBP1 for the first time again. I am AMAZED. Then again, I feel like... weird. I mean, I think the transferring rom LBP1 to LBP2 could be a... problem. See, I have a spacesuit costume, which I can't wear in any multiplayer game without gettings asked a million questions about it. If the date is true, Winter 2010, I can just see it. Log on Christmas morning, "OOOOOOOH. HOOW WHERE OOOH." You know. all of the people who will just be getting LBP2 as their first LBP game. Also-- I'm so much more use to being given simple tools and having to play with them and build and construct until everything worked. I think that it's great that everything is going to be right there now, but... I now understand how old people feel. "Back when I was a young sack, we use to have to MAKE ROOM on the thermo for all of that logic!" *Small sacks gasp* LBP2 looks to be the greatest thing since Jelly on toast, and I think this game, just like its predecessor, will re-define gaming as we see it today. | 2010-05-11 02:26:00 Author: littlebigmeteor Posts: 396 |
Don't worry, you won't feel old for long.... when the tools get that much better and remove barriers, the expectations are also raised quite a bit. Which means you'll end up spending your time building more complex creations. I've been a programmer for 30 years and every time the tools get better, my job seems to get harder since the expectations get higher. | 2010-05-11 02:55:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
I remember being astounded at the create mode when I got the game on Christmas 08, now it somehow bores me. Hopefully LBP2 will clear that up. | 2010-05-11 03:07:00 Author: Arkei Posts: 1432 |
I felt the same way.. The young sacks won't ever understand the glory of LBP1. *old grandpa voice* "I remember back in the summer of '09 we used to have the grandest old time on our rocket cheetahs. You young whippershanppers with your fancy Sackbots and whatnot.." | 2010-05-11 08:53:00 Author: KablooieKablam Posts: 364 |
I feel old every day. Then again I am old so maybe that has something to do with it. ............LOL.............erm ...sorry that just got me thinking about the '4 Yorkshiremen' sketch by 'Monty Python'........LOL........."you tell young kids today that, they won't believe you"... | 2010-05-11 20:13:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |

back in my day... OMG SACKBOTS????? wow! I'm gonna have to beat all you whippersnappers before you get good! maybe this is the bad side of me; but I can't wait to beat all the LBP2'ers while playing LBP. they won't have mastered the jump yet | 2010-05-11 20:41:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |
We're, liek, the Call Of Duty vets that everyone hates because they're so ****** smug. You know, the kinda person that goes around saying: "I used to get 1000000000 kill streaks on CoD 4!!!" How I hate Call Of Duty. How I hate it. | 2010-05-11 20:42:00 Author: Skeggers Posts: 583 |
Or rather, us experienced fellows can take over the spawning and sackboys in LBP 2 and start our own cults, with the new labor force, nothing can go wrong! Muah ha- *stares* <_< >_> Anyway, at least we can train these young ones to do a better job with their first levels than we did. Heh.. | 2010-05-12 23:17:00 Author: sackish Posts: 72 |
Let me tell you little whipersnappers about an old level called "Ramp"..... | 2010-05-12 23:35:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
I feel old every day. Me too. It may be something to do with the fact I was born when the earth was still hot and bartered for my supplies with groats. Been there, done that, can't remember most of it! Console used to be a verb, now it's a noun! Icey | 2010-05-12 23:53:00 Author: IceMaiden Posts: 1057 |
we need to write the holy book of LBP1 so that sackies after us will read it and not repeat past mistakes the most important chapter being the three plagues bomb shark and poo XP | 2010-05-13 00:13:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 Posts: 1924 |
I actually am making a series of levels detailing the best of LBP's secrets so I can show them to noobs in LBP2. "I remember when we use to have to make vehicles.. with GRAB SWITCHES!" *Young sacks gasp* | 2010-05-13 00:34:00 Author: littlebigmeteor Posts: 396 |
Too bad lbp1 sackpeople can't get a model change and be a bit taller and more mature looking that lbp2 ones. Lol. We r older! | 2010-05-13 00:41:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
Back when I was a young sack, You mean I have to wear a beard? I'm only 11! Just kidding, don't worry. I know how you feel. | 2010-05-13 00:46:00 Author: JspOt Posts: 3607 |
Too bad lbp1 sackpeople can't get a model change and be a bit taller and more mature looking that lbp2 ones. Lol. We r older! That's actually a really great idea. That being said, one imagines the LBP1 costume items won't be included in LBP2; there will be new ones. So you'll be able to tell us oldtimers solely by costume choices. | 2010-05-18 21:50:00 Author: roux- Posts: 379 |

Console used to be a verb, now it's a noun! Icey Ditto, Icey! Oh, now I remember you! I traded a chicken once for your groats. Your groats were the best around! | 2010-05-19 03:11:00 Author: TheCountessZ Posts: 537 |
Hm, and I thought this was going to be a thread on our massive age gaps in members. lol On that note, yes, I do suddenly feel older being on the same forum community with those have gotten even gotten....... nevermind... probably shouldn't head in that direction. lol ^^; | 2010-05-19 03:16:00 Author: Iudicium_86 Posts: 167 |
Yeah, I'm sure anyone who gets LBP2 and plays an LBP1 level will wonder why they have to grab a separate switch to go in reverse. That "Direct Control" thinga-ma-bob is going to be so great. That alleviates a lot of hassles when creating vehicles (and eyesores). | 2010-05-19 04:31:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
I can't wait to flounce my Chinese Dragon Mask in front of the poor newbies who started with LBP2 | 2010-05-19 07:57:00 Author: KablooieKablam Posts: 364 |
Ditto, Icey! Oh, now I remember you! I traded a chicken once for your groats. Your groats were the best around! Awwww! I have great groats! That sounds hilarious! Your chickens were pretty good too Countess! Icey | 2010-05-20 10:21:00 Author: IceMaiden Posts: 1057 |
Me too. It may be something to do with the fact I was born when the earth was still hot and bartered for my supplies with groats. Been there, done that, can't remember most of it! Console used to be a verb, now it's a noun! Icey Indeed! And to 'hit the sack' meant have a nap... I remember you Icey - and TheCountessZ - back in the day with your chickens and groats. You might not remember me, though as my 'bartering method' involved a club to the back of the head. Heheh. Strangely no-one willingly bartered with our tribe... just because we hadn't yet evolved to two eyebrows. Snobs. P.S. The chickens were good... probably would've been nicer cooked. As for the groats.. not sure as we mainly just threw them at each other and grunted However, on a friendlier note - you learn not to think of it as feeling old, littlebigmeteor, but feeling 'nostalgic'. | 2010-05-20 10:58:00 Author: BabyDoll1970 Posts: 1567 |
