Top-Down View?

Archive: 8 posts

It does seem like it on the picture. Although people are saying that its just the vertical view of the actual game. I'm not sure, look at the moutain, it goes up (The pic on the top-right corner). I don't think that layers can fade into eachother? Or can they?

Yeah, I've been thinking about that too.. :/
There is also a point where the Sackgirl is riding the wasp thing, and the screen flips into top down view and turns into an arcade style space invaders clone :/

Well, maybe its just something to do with that gravity setting. I guess it is!2010-05-10 18:49:00

There's an interview with Alex Evans where he specifically says top down. I doubt he meant doing it by tricks. If the camera is as good as it sounds perhaps you can just rotate it all the way above your sackperson.2010-05-10 19:06:00

It does very much look as though you can rotate the camera around it's own axis, in the video. Based upon the orientation of the sackperson's vehicle.

It could be that the room is revolving, but idk.

It's just done on a vertical wall using gravity I'd guess. If you watch the rat race on the trailer, you'll see a background on the right hand side.2010-05-10 19:20:00

The camera has not moved - as shindol says, you can see the background behind the rats and it's in the same orientation as it usually is. It's just the gravity that's been changed. Having said that, I don't know how the detailed profiles of the mountain, or the slopes achieved by the layering, have been done. I guess that's another thing that we can look forward to being explained to us by Stephen Fry ...2010-05-10 23:49:00
