8 more gadgets/power ups

Archive: 24 posts

http://playstationinformer.wordpress.com/2010/05/09/littlebigplanet-2-other-images-from-gameinformer/

In this page from game informer, it's written that MM has the grappling hook and 7 other tools.
In other news one is the Magic (or Power? can't remember) Glove and another one is the Bag.

What do you guys think are the other five?
And how the glove and the bag will work?

I think that if you give sackboy the bag, he will be able to keep the power-ups, without the need to grasp them again.
Now if you have the paintinator and you go to the jetpack you lose the gun, while, if you have a bag, you can keep the gun and chose to use it later.
Just an idea...

I think the glove lets you grab ANYTHING. Or pick stuff up and carry it.2010-05-10 07:17:00

Maybe one of the other gadgets will be a SackBot guider, like the Paintinator, that shoots a glowing ball (again, like the paintinator) that the SackBot will try to reach by any means possible.2010-05-10 07:19:00

Are these seven MORE powerups or are they the total in the new game? Do the jetpack and paintinator count towards the grand total of eight powerups or do they not? Hmmmm...2010-05-10 07:24:00

Yes, as Outlaw-Jack said, the article said several, not seven. This is the second time I've had to correct someone on this misunderstanding.

EDIT: Just realized that the article made the mistake of saying seven instead of several. If you actually read the scan of the magazine page it says several.

Hmm, magic could be like breathing fire or shooting electricity out of your hands. Imagine that, you could make a proper Spyro or Infamous level.2010-05-10 08:27:00

Or it could be 2... We won't know for a bit more!

Meanwhile, new stuff is in! (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=26555-What-We-Know-So-Far/page4)

Maybe one of the new tools is like a magic marker which enables you do draw parts of the level in as you go, but you've only go a finite ammount of ink or time to use the design before it evapourates.

So for instance you'd have to draw in a flight of stairs or something to reach a higher platform. Now you could use the Dualshock to draw it, but it would also use the move.

Powerups we know about:

Jetpack (tethered/tetherless)
Paintinator
Scuba gear
Grappling hook

Some other powerups or power-channging thingies include the direct control seat, which lets you control pretty much anything that can have switches attached to them, including Sackbots - this means you can be stronger or bigger or immune to certain hazards. Or, the gravity/orientation of the level can be changed, so you can have a top-down view of your sackboy riding a mouse or little moon-buggy or a side-scroller turned up-scroller for things like arcade-shooters. You can also get points based on some of the new arcade formats included.

Look at that, inside the box behind the sackboy. That's DEFINITELY a powerup. It doesn't look like the grappling hook though...

There's got to be some sort of invulnerabiity powerup tbh, like the star from the Mario series. With customisable length of invulnerability, too.2010-05-11 09:19:00

Yep, it is. I've seen it in the trailer where Sackpeople were flying all over the place with them.

Oh I know the bottom image is the grappling hook, I was trying to discern if the top image was the same thing. It looks like it is. At first I thought it might have been something totally new. Nothing to see, move along!2010-05-11 09:30:00

About the bag . . .

I really hope it is something to store whatever collectibles the level creator makes for the player to collect, like say in an RPG.

If the Magic Bag IS used to store stuff, and stuff being PWRups and such, I hope there's an option to select if THIS (whatever powerup youre looking at) powerup can be moved there or not. Having an unwanted jetpack in there can really make keeping the player in bounds really nifty.2010-05-18 19:19:00

Hmm. Looks like a hi-tech can opener.

It's the Grappling Hook...

If you compare the lights on the power-up, and the screws on the side, you will see that it's the GH.
