I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but to clear up some info about the planet, it looks like the theme and materials change to match the theme of the level selected: 0:34-37, the planet changes from wood to neon when the neon zone is highlighted... oh and ZOMG I CANTZ WAYTT!!! | 2010-05-10 16:59:00 Author: RobbieT_4 Posts: 77 |

By the way, I was just wondering, what about the copyright issue ? Since we'll be able to record our own sounds, no problem about that ? | 2010-05-10 17:13:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
Right, A Couple Of Things: If There Is No Steven Fry, I Will Be Pi**ed. And Although All Of These New Tools Are Nice And Things, What If It Overcomplicates The Gameplay And Makes The Game Less Accessible To The Wide Audience LBP1 Has? What Do You Guys Think? | 2010-05-10 17:21:00 Author: Skeggers Posts: 583 |
@Oddmania Yeah, i was wondering about that too... I got the impression that the recordings came as sound objects rather than music players so you couldn't record background music... or could you??? | 2010-05-10 17:21:00 Author: RobbieT_4 Posts: 77 |
I guess its a chance your level can get moderated if it contains copyright stuff. | 2010-05-10 17:22:00 Author: Fredrik94 Posts: 342 |
The music in the trailer plus the LittleBigPlanet atmosphere gives me a sickly sweet feeling. It's as if I'm living in a fake world inside a real one which is really exiting, but not as realistic, complicated, or challenging as the real world. I want to stay in it forever, but the longer I stay the more distant reality seems. I'm afraid to stop playing in this LittleBigWorld because I'm afraid of waking up inside a real Pod where I will be dumped into a sewer and no Morpheus will be there to rescue me. If I could change the name of the song, I'd change it to "Lovely World of Addiction". Sorry if I depressed anyone. CAN'T WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS! | 2010-05-10 17:27:00 Author: MMLgamer Posts: 183 |
@Oddmania Yeah, i was wondering about that too... I got the impression that the recordings came as sound objects rather than music players so you couldn't record background music... or could you??? Well actually I guess we'll just need to record a song and then put it as a sound, the end result would be the same. But Mm may limit the sounds duration, to avoid the use of songs. Anyway, I think a moderation would be the easiest way, even though playing each and every level to see if the creator is using a licensed song might be a bit annoying. | 2010-05-10 17:51:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |

From the LBP2 official site: "A powerful new set of tools awaits you, tools that vastly widen the scope of possibility, and that hand you the power to create WHOLE GAMES. Through a familiar but revamped Popit, you can bring your characters to life, compose your own music, direct cinematic masterpieces, wire controllers directly in to your contraptions, connect easy to use switches, microchips and circuit boards to build epic bosses, vehicles, machines, and puzzles. I sent this Alex Evans interview to Cartman to hopefully add to the thread... enjoy. http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/littlebigplanet2/video/6261830/little-big-planet-2-alex-evans-interview A little bit more detailed explanation of how things "work" in LBP2 as well as where MM got the inspiration to do some of things they are in LBP2. | 2010-05-10 18:09:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |

@MMLgamer : Yeah, we can create our own music but I was just thinking about licensed songs. What if we record them ? Ive been thinking about that imagine how crazy everything will get, i mean whats the point in making a music inspired level if all you have to do is record a song and just play to hear it as it is? | 2010-05-10 18:39:00 Author: Bloo_boy Posts: 1019 |

Ive been thinking about that imagine how crazy everything will get, i mean whats the point in making a music inspired level if all you have to do is record a song and just play to hear it as it is? think of it as why do people keep posting bomb survival levels even though they know how annoying and cancerous it is to the community? same with h4h basically the music thing will happen, one way or another....all we can do is think up a good way to make it work for us....or to lessen it | 2010-05-10 18:50:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |

Yeah, I also noticed it and hoped for it in the old thread. Francis' interview @ vg247. has an interesting part about the refinement of the engine and the back compatibility. I wonder how aweesome will be when everybody will go back to play old classic levels and our very own level. Anyway no one noticed how fan driven is the trailer. I really love the connection that MM and the community has built. I would like to know how proud the MM dudes just feel reading all our excitement. They really deserve it. We love you guys. There are only so many cheeses, but we have a big list of well over 100, so we wouldn't abandon the cheese list just like that - besides, when we ship a patch we all eat the cheese that we name it after, we'd definitely need some kind of tasty replacement. The more I see, the more abitious it sounds. I have no doubt that it's going to be a great game, It is MM. But is it going to live up to all the hype surrounding the new, more complex mechanisms? | 2010-05-10 19:21:00 Author: Skeggers Posts: 583 |

From Mark Healey's interview (http://www.vg247.com/2010/05/10/interview-littlebigplanet-2s-mark-healy-on-attacking-play-create-share/): There are also some little tweaks, like being able to hide things and add comments to them, so that you can remember what they do. All the obvious things that the creator out there would want, we?ve done. Hopefully we?ve also gone a lot further than that, and also added things that they didn?t realise they wanted. We'll be able to add comments to our logic and stuff to help us keep track of what they do. Not a "stop the presses" bit of news, but very nice any way. After building a complicated logic network, I look back and have absolutely no idea what half of it does | 2010-05-10 20:50:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

Okay folks, I'm breaking down the 5x new interviews and I'll post what I discover here in terms of clarifications and new details. If someone else has done this, I apologize. Here we go with interview 1, Mark Healy: He talks about lbp.me, but he doesn't give many details on the "queue.". LBP.me which automatically creates a website for your level that anyone can access and add to their queue immediately. Players will be able to go on the website to view all the levels they have made, pictures, number of views and comments... There are people out there who enjoy finding and reviewing levels, so we like to feel that we have streamlined this process. This seems to me to SUGGEST that in fact the queue you set up on lbp.me will carry over directly into the game. But no explicit confirmation of this yet. There are also some little tweaks, like being able to hide things and add comments to them, so that you can remember what they do Did you hear that? You can hide things - I imagine to make them temporarily invisible so you can see and work on what's BEHIND them. YESSS... Also, you can leave little labels on things in your level just to help you stay organized, or to maybe jot down ideas for future fixes on things. I know I for one often forget about stuff on my "to-do" list once I start working on the first thing. So this is pretty awesome. Other details: the name of the "direct control seat" will probably change. They love the Playstation Move and are "totally going to go to town" in supporting it. However, not all of this functionality will likely be there on launch day. It's something they're going to continue to expand upon. I'm expecting to see full create mode support, being able to use a Move controller like a 3D mouse. Being able to play exclusively with the Move and its "nunchuk" is a "no-brainer". They haven't incorporated it yet, but they probably will by the time the game comes out. Link-Badge details!! You can put badges in directly in to your level now. This allows you to link levels, entering directly into a new level without returning to the pod. Although this is a simple thing it’s incredibly powerful, as someone can now string together a thousand levels into one massive experience. Also, people who are good at finding good levels could create a caf? which is just full of badges of their favourite levels. Hear that everyone? I was wrong before. It's not just a linear, scoreboard-to-entryway feature. It's a fully non-linear portal system that you can use to link any levels together - even ones that aren't even your own. So you could have a "hub" world in a larger game that itself links to levels A, B, C, D, and E, depending on which badge you travel through in the level. This... is freaking WONDERFUL. Community details from Spaff and Tom: on lbp.me: Every player will have their own unique URL on the site, and then every level will have its own unique URL as well. Just having them on the web is going to make it so much easier for people to share those levels. The main feature will be to allow anyone anywhere to add those levels to their playlist. So, if you re at work and you have some suggestions you simply go on the page, add it to your queue: when you get home it’s ready to play. We’re also allowing users to embed widgets into their websites to help promote levels. That’s really exciting, because it will help people to share their levels even more. Huuuuuge! That answers my above question. You WILL have total cross-functionality between the game and the website. what you do on the site will be reflected when you turn the game on! on a possible iphone app for remotely adding levels and accessing lbp.me functions: Tom Kiss: Yeah, there’s definitely potential there. People will probably create things like this, allowing for people to get levels even when they’re on the move. on sharing microchips: Tom Kiss: The new features in LBP 2 such as the microchips will have people sharing even more. People can create these and then give them away in their levels to other users. You’ll no doubt see some pretty amazing inventions using just this feature. I just want to point out here that I don't think I've ever - EVER - seen a company listen to their community and fans and userbase as much as these guys have in implementing all this new stuff. | 2010-05-11 00:54:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |
I like this feature. One of the new features we have is QR Codes. These are digital barcodes which you can print and take with you. You can hand them to your friend, they hold them up to the PSEye and then they’ll be taken straight into the level. Once you hit the thermo max, just bung a portal in at the end and into a new one where the level simply carries on with a fresh thermo. If there's potential to carry points and information over, you could have 'x amount' of levels with a score board at the end of the last one? Probably optimistic, but could it be done...? | 2010-05-11 01:57:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |

If there's potential to carry points and information over, you could have 'x amount' of levels with a score board at the end of the last one? Probably optimistic, but could it be done...? This is one of the pet peeves I had about levels in LBP1. If it's too much for one level, it would be more advantageous to be split into two. This somewhat annoying limitation will be made much less so by the new badge linking system. (*cough* LBPC spotlight levels, anyone? *cough*) This is, of course, considering the possibility that you know how to save on the thermo to begin with. That sounds... Awesome. But not everyone has a printer. Do you have a camera phone? Take a snap shot and hold it up to the Eye. It's just a black and white matrix of squares. Also, I'd think that a $10 used printer would be no object compared to the Eye, which runs for considerably more! And if worse comes to worse, grab yourself some graph paper! 16813 | 2010-05-11 02:20:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |

Anyway, there's an interesting video interview with Alex @ www.gametrailers.com. Someone should dissect it. I won't do it since I'm not English, and I could understand something unproperly. Also, according to this source http://www.gamerzines.com/ps3/news/lbp2-uses-god-of-war-iii-tech.html LBP2 uses some of God Of War 3 tech. As I said, being part of the Sony family of devs leads to sharing tech internally between studios on a more parctical basis. | 2010-05-11 10:19:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

As I said, being part of the Sony family of devs leads to sharing tech internally between studios on a more parctical basis. Big stuff I picked up on: He mentions setting up direct control and setting the x button, for example to "super jump". He expects cliques of people will spring up who devote themselves to creating RTS games, and more RPG style games "with collecting". You can now categorize your levels. And if you're browsing for levels, and you want, "action, or competition" (his examples), you can browse and find them in the "stream", which is like a news feed personally tailored to your tastes. "Stream" practically replaces Cool Levels. This is actually pretty big news. Everyone has their own Stream page which is tailor-suited to each individual. Cool concept, no? There's still a "community" button which might be like the old cool levels, but the concept of a go-to place for universal front-page levels is no longer necessary. | 2010-05-11 12:21:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |

I figured out something. If you watch the PuzzleBobble in the vid, you see something streamed from the screen on the sides? So screens, like game informer mentions outputs videos. Is it possible to record cutscenes and output them in loops on the screens/monitors? Other info Very important http://www.gamerzines.com/ps3/news/lbp2-100-backwards-compatible.html Media Molecule's Alex Evans has cast doubt over claims that every one of the two million-plus levels created for the original LittleBigPlanet will be compatible with LittleBigPlanet 2, telling EDGE that because of the "exploits people have used" the team "might not succeed" in making all of them compatible with the new game. "We may not get 100 per cent backwards compatibility," said Evans talking in this month's EDGE, "but I hope we do." that means that levels that uses glitches may not work. | 2010-05-11 12:37:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
I figured out something. If you watch the PuzzleBobble in the vid, you see something streamed from the screen on the sides? So screens, like game informer mentions outputs videos. Is it possible to record cutscenes and output them in loops on the screens/monitors? I think what you're seeing might be a pre-made backdrop for the "home-made arcade" levels. Although Alex Evans said there are new animated textures... maybe these will be editable? I'm guessing this is just how the "homemade arcade" world looks and that's the end of it. Good spot though, I hadn't noticed it before. | 2010-05-11 12:42:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |
Jeez, a guy takes a simple 5 month hiatus and we get an LBP 2. RIGHT AS I'VE FINALLY GOT TO PLAY ONLINE. But it looks awesome, can't wait! I'm drooling already. | 2010-05-11 17:33:00 Author: MegaRock35 Posts: 80 |
that means that levels that uses glitches may not work. The more reason to recreate those levels (if worth mentioning/recreating) and make them even better than before right | 2010-05-11 18:28:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
"Stream" practically replaces Cool Levels. This is actually pretty big news. Everyone has their own Stream page which is tailor-suited to each individual. Cool concept, no? Hm, it all depends on how it will work. There is a danger that it may limit the scope only to a certain type of category of levels, narrowing the search to those creations which are suited to your profile, but leaving out awesome ones that do not click with your status as a player/creator. :/ It would be a shame to be categorized as a certain type of player (for example arcade player) and therefore limited only to those or similar types of levels. But on the other hand, if general cool levels still exist (although, I hope, improved), then all is good. | 2010-05-11 18:41:00 Author: Stampy Posts: 86 |

So since objects can switch layers, does this mean we could make obstacles and move across the z axis? Also, when the da vinchi character puts the stamp in the book, how did they do that? It looked like he had it in his hand and actually stamped it? | 2010-05-11 20:13:00 Author: Jrange378 Posts: 573 |
Also, when the da vinchi character puts the stamp in the book, how did they do that? It looked like he had it in his hand and actually stamped it? Pause the video at that moment and watch closely, you'll see that the stamp is actually being moved by a piston. its so fast it looks like hes actually stamping it. | 2010-05-11 20:27:00 Author: TNSv Posts: 302 |

Oh gosh, I hope the neon cold war levels don't get it delayed...I don't wanna say or someone will notice it. Lets say 2 sides weren't happy. =( Judging by the number the number of jokes we make about the Cold War (I do realize it was a very serious time) It probably won't be delayed in America for that reason. We even made comedies about it during the war. For example, the movie Dr. Strangelove: or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love The Bomb. | 2010-05-11 21:13:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |

Mm has said that they've put much more effort into creating transparency effects with materials in the game, because they saw how popular these were in LBP1's community, and how much people attempted to exploit transparency and translucency effects. So it may just be another "soft" grabby-material that happens to be clear plastic bubblewrap! | 2010-05-12 01:09:00 Author: Teebonesy Posts: 1937 |

I am not sure if anyone has mentioned the switches that look like rockets yet, but they might make things fly? How does that machine fly work? Also, this doesn't look supported: http://www.meristation.com/EPORTAL_IMGS/GENERAL/juegos/PlayStation3-Plataformas/47/IMG2-cw4be3e2bb30144/littlebigplanet2_013.jpg | 2010-05-12 08:22:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |
Moley, I'm not sure, but could that ''snake'' actually be one of those catterpillars that are all fluffy? Maybe all the fluffy stuff is decorations and that is it's real look? On a side note, I think that the orb thingy with arrows might be some sort of thing that allows it to fly diagonal as well? | 2010-05-12 10:30:00 Author: Fredrik94 Posts: 342 |
It would be pretty useful. As you can see, there's a Direct Control Seat on that kind of catterpillar, so we might pilot it. This would be much handier than all the stuff we made on LBP1. | 2010-05-12 12:51:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
I wonder if we can now but motor bolts and etc. on the sides of materials, because that's how it looks for me that those cars are able to move. I don't know. | 2010-05-12 14:49:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |
Maybe. There's smoke coming from the cars, so they might be rocket-driven instead. The wheels could just be decorations, those you can already put on the sides. Would be cool if you were right, though. | 2010-05-12 16:16:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
Thank you MediaMolecule for making the best games in the world. I really like the idea of a Sackperson NPC (or also known as a Sackbot) to be chillin' around in LittleBigPlanet, it would add so much character and iconizm to a level! I like the new Grapling Hook Power-Up aswell, enabling characters to swing over and around obstacles with having to waste space on winch/piston lifts. Everything I see so far I love and would come in great use and/or manipulation. | 2010-05-12 16:28:00 Author: PoD CREW Posts: 268 |

I wouldn't be so sure. It's technically relatively easy to allow rotation during create mode, and it would make sense, considering they're letting you do top-down views. | 2010-05-13 01:30:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
I wouldn't be so sure. It's technically relatively easy to allow rotation during create mode, and it would make sense, considering they're letting you do top-down views. I agree, I guess it's not that hard to allow rotation in Create Mode. However, what if we made a springboard, or a slope with a side view ? If we could rotate it that way to get an overview, it would mean that the kart would jump towards the player playing on his PS3, getting closer to the screen. I don't know if what would be possible. Did you get what I mean ? EDIT : Actually, there's a springboard in the trailer during the kart race, so I guess it's not impossible... | 2010-05-13 08:43:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
Oh, I meant rotating Mm objects like the soda can, or the empty milk bottle from LBP1. I don't think you'll be able to rotate objects you built yourself. It would be great, but there's absolutely no evidence for it in the current images. | 2010-05-13 12:50:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
I posted about this in the other thread, but no one commented... I past it here again : Looking at that art picture, I was thinking if the pod like we know will still exist.... something to add to the first page if you can: - apparently hitting a bounce pad not only bounces sackboy...but gives him a cool flip animation that makes him look like a total ba******* - apparently the new LBP2 characters are playable (whole body included) as for if we can edit them...thats a story for another time if Mm allows it | 2010-05-14 00:41:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |

Looks thin to me. That's strange, it's way thicker than it is in LBP1. We can't see any side of LB1's thin layers. EDIT : I'm not 100% sure (this monitor is crap) but I think thats a thin layer with a beveled edge. The angle of the bevel is making it look deeper than it is. You're probably right It's definitely beveled, but there still remains the problem of knowing if it's because of the angle or not. | 2010-05-14 18:34:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |

That's strange, it's way thicker than it is in LBP1. We can't see any side of LB1's thin layers. It's most definitely due to the fact that you're looking at a nearly pitch black piece of material. However, I think you might be on to something: 17006 It certainly looks a lot thicker than a typical thin layer, from what I recall. It could also be the fact that this screen shot is from an early polished alpha, and not necessarily representative of any changes to thickness in the thin layers. | 2010-05-14 19:13:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |

I've been analyzing the LittleBigPlanet 2 Preview on Qore and I noticed that from 0:29-0:31 seconds, a Sackgirl does a somersault after jumping from one ledge to another. There is no bounce pad at the scene, so I assume that you can somersault, without bounce pads, on command, since it is shown that Sackboy doesn't always somersault after jumping. Somersaulting with bounce pads may be automatic, though. Check it out for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtH7AphkuYY | 2010-05-14 23:51:00 Author: galacemiguel Posts: 179 |

I think the game allows some sort of top-down gravity. I saw a section where there's a bit of slightly raised track, and the car falls off it(only very slightly though) and lands on a lower piece of track(about 1:09 in the trailer). I could've been fooled by clever use of perspective though, but if not, how could the car knock those boxes about?(I know there's about 1-million ways to do this, but don't ruin my dreams ;_; ) | 2010-05-15 21:45:00 Author: Unknown User |

Someone before mentioned the "magic gloves" and "magic sack" I was dreaming up things that i could recommend to the ppl at MM when i thought that we should have an inventory where we can store specially 'marked' objects such as keys etc... Maybe this magic glove and magic sack thing is an inventory or something along thoses lines. (I know this sounds impossible, but this is LBP 2) | 2010-05-26 07:19:00 Author: Captnmatt Posts: 96 |
I'm hoping the magic gloves are like melee objects. It would be pretty simple I mean, it could be basically set up like the paintinator. R1 causes the player to punch, while the right thumb stick works as the aim of the punch. | 2010-05-27 00:00:00 Author: TheBlackKnight22 Posts: 695 |

I would really prefer a customizable melee weapon. Something we can decorate and color and attach emitters to. | 2010-05-28 04:32:00 Author: jjmusicman Posts: 234 |

EDIT: Like AI enemies. Not other players in a fighting level. Anyways. Like you mentioned. That could just be done with the direct control seat and some clever building. | 2010-05-29 04:12:00 Author: TheBlackKnight22 Posts: 695 |

I'm not 100% sure this is the best spot to post this, but I can't really find anywhere better. Anyhow, what I want to know, is LBP2 pretty much a giant Expansion Pack really? Does it includes everything from LBP 1 including my purchased items? If it does I want to trade in the LBP 1 disc so I could get a bit of a discount on LBP2. Also, is it going to be purchasable as a Disc only, or will they have it so you can download it onto your PS3? Any info would be great! Thx! | 2010-06-01 16:59:00 Author: Welder666 Posts: 6 |

I just thought of something awesome: if you can modify the camera.. then can we make a chase effect (the camera looks at whatever is chasing you, like the ones in crash bandicoot and stuff?) | 2010-06-03 23:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
I just thought of something awesome: if you can modify the camera.. then can we make a chase effect (the camera looks at whatever is chasing you, like the ones in crash bandicoot and stuff?) I think I remember reading that in one of the interviews or magazine articles they showed the reporter that you could put the camera completely behind Sackboy, in other words looking down the z-axis of the level. They were basically showing off the power of the engine. So, I don't see why you couldn't do this. | 2010-06-04 01:09:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
How will there be four players using control seats all at once, wouldn't this be a way of splitscreen? I guess you can hook them up to sackbots, in which they can all go different directions? I just realized this, and now it's seems overly obvious to me. | 2010-06-06 06:07:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |

You can look at the video of the racing game to see it still works the same way it used to. When you go split screen, you increase the power needed to render the images. If you've played LBP you know can get laggy with multiple players on a single screen. Yes, they're working with a whole new engine, but the philosophy behind how they currently handle multiplayer should stay the same. (I hate having to wait for someone online simply because they put their controller down.) | 2010-06-06 17:15:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
but the philosophy behind how they currently handle multiplayer should stay the same. (I hate having to wait for someone online simply because they put their controller down.) this post makes no sense...so you like the current camera zoom out and if someone walks away you or them die in 5 seconds.....but you hate having to wait for someone online?.....im lost id much rather have a camera like online create where they can leave and do whatever and im still in the same spot not affected by a 5 second timer thats going to pop me.....i mean seriously whats the difference? you'll still be able to do the same stuff as you would right now....and if ur going to pull some crap about somebody messin with puzzles in the game....THEY CAN STILL DO THAT NOW TOO....just you'll be there to see it thats all idk but i want the camera changed....for LBP2s sake (more freedom less restrictions) | 2010-06-06 19:54:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
Woow all of the Pictures look really good, high quality and show the game to once again be another excellent anticipation! i only hope that a large number of the images and videos are in-game footage . additionally i hope that there is more than just three layers, if they take advantage of 3D on the PS3 it would be twice as sick! | 2010-06-07 00:39:00 Author: Unknown User |
this post makes no sense...so you like the current camera zoom out and if someone walks away you or them die in 5 seconds.....but you hate having to wait for someone online?.....im lost If someone puts their controller down and doesn't move, I just let them go offscreen over and over again until they pick it back up. For online play with non-responsive players, this is key. Now, I've also played levels where the design of the level itself is not apt for multiplayer, where a certain section might launch a player far beyond the rest of the group and they all subsequently go off-screen and die, but this is a problem of level design, not playability. The happy medium is if one player gets too far ahead, that player waits for the others to catch up rather than waste time dying, etc. id much rather have a camera like online create where they can leave and do whatever and im still in the same spot not affected by a 5 second timer thats going to pop me.....i mean seriously whats the difference? That's not the same as what I was commenting on, which was split-screen rendering of the game on the same TV. I don't see why this wouldn't be achievable, but then again, who knows what will be possible in LBP2? I based my assumption on what I was able to see from the race sequences in the announce trailer. I do like the idea that you presented, though, especially for online multiplayer. In fact, if that were possible, it would open up a whole new type of multiplayer level design. you'll still be able to do the same stuff as you would right now....and if ur going to pull some crap about somebody messin with puzzles in the game....THEY CAN STILL DO THAT NOW TOO....just you'll be there to see it thats all idk but i want the camera changed....for LBP2s sake (more freedom less restrictions) I think we'll all be very happy with the changes to the way the cameras work, as they are much more versatile than they currently are. | 2010-06-07 17:26:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
lets hope so...this is an evolution from the previous one....but it doesnt mean it'll be heaven on a plate...i guess we just gotta wait and see | 2010-06-07 23:53:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |

I just realized this, and now it's seems overly obvious to me. I think a way it can be done is like this. The players spawn normally so they are all within range, say constrained to a box. But they each are assigned a sackbot which they control remotely, I'm assuming we can remote control them because there is an option in the settings(please god let it be so otherwise my plan fails ). Then each sackbot has a camera attached to it with a switch hooked up to the cam so only that sackbot sees it's effect(hopefully this is possible, the range would be so it only surrounds the sackbot it's attached to). Then each sackbot can wander off anywhere and the player won't die and yet the sackbots will all have their own cam so everyone gets their own screen. | 2010-06-11 08:59:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |
I like the way they have it now. I'd imagine it would be much more lonely with separate screens. | 2010-06-11 12:26:00 Author: monstahr Posts: 1361 |
I like the way they have it now. I'd imagine it would be much more lonely with separate screens. I'm pretty confident they won't take out the current setting anyways. As Mm already stated concerning the "no more magic mouths" rumor: They will not take existing features out of the game, they will only add new ones. Remember that all levels (except some that use glitches which LBP2 will not include anymore) will be backwards compatible. What about levels where the basic concept is that players do actually have to stay close together? I'm sure Mm won't touch this basic mechanic - but they might, and that's where it gets interesting for lots of new level/gameplay types, they might actually give us a new tool / camera setting /direct control seat setting that enables us to generate separate screens for each player. I certainly hope for such a feature, as it's been since about first Beta day 10 that I wanted to create a "capture the flag" level - flags respawning at enemy castle when sackboy hasn't grabbed them for a set amount of time? no problem. Castles? no problem. Fun obstacles, traps and base-defending weaponry? no problem. 2 sackboys? no problem. Creating a playfield that is bigger than a jar of marmelade? big problem. | 2010-06-11 13:53:00 Author: Treas Posts: 223 |

I can't see anything in the videos that would suggest this... it looks like the direct control device is attached to the vehicle or sackbot. In the case of the race cars, it's too far out to see but in the rat race you can clearly see the little heads of sackpersons "riding" the little rats. I'm sure there will be plenty that is achievable via cameras and direct control devices, however, so I wouldn't count this out. I think we'll have a better grasp of a lot of the "how things work" after E3. | 2010-06-11 15:58:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |

Or a setting on a camera zone's tweak menu. Tick the box for splitscreen. this sounds like a good idea for you to control when you want split screen to occur...although to be honest i just want it to be available from the start if possible | 2010-06-11 23:49:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
