Security Breach ***Spotlighte*******

Security Breachjavi_haguse
As one of the nations' most decorated soldiers, you've been recruited to join an elite squad but first? you'll have to prove yourself. You'll be dropped in the middle of an abandoned mining outpost to locate the military's top secret facility. Good luck soldier... you're gonna need it.

Well, it's finally done! This level took me forever to make, but I am very happy how it turned out. Security Breach is definitely my best work so far. I wanted this level to have a great atmosphere, stunning visuals and yet some cool gameplay that my previous levels were missing. I put a lot of work into it, so I hope you like it!

I never planned in advance to create Security Breach, but it somehow happened. It all started with my first ever published level that shared the same concept and name. After finishing Descent 2, I went back to that level just to redesign a bridge and ended up with an entire new level! Go figure!

None of this would?ve happened if it wasn?t for the help of a few friends. First off, I want to thank all the people that tested or jumped in just to check up on me! The usual suspects are mrsupercomputer, comphermc, keldur, poms, mammet-box, morgana and joey. Sorry if I forgot someone!

I specially want to thank mrsupercomputer and comphermc for the tremendous amount of work they put into this level. I would?ve probably stopped playing LBP a long time ago if it wasn?t for these 2. Mrsupercomputer and I spent countless hours planning ahead and coming up with cool gameplay bits. Not only that, but he was always there to help me create when I was stuck. Comphy, in the other hand, is a building machine! He would just jump in unannounced and start building stuff without even telling me what it was lol! He always kept the ball rolling whenever I was planning too much. Not only that, but a lot of the logic was either improved or created by him. This level is to you guys, thanks again!

Awesome level. I was there throughout it's production (and made some of it myself), and it's a very polished, very intense level. It's an absolute blast.

There's not much more to say, but... TOP SCORE, BABY!

Not sure what that means, lol... poms' levels are quirky and upbeat. This level is more grungy and realistic. I take it you meant it as a compliment, though... So, cool! This is my level after all, right Javi?

...And it flips! Hurray!

Played it earlier with Chuck_MP, and the least I can say is that we were impressed!

The visuals and the atmosphere are great, so well-done!
Baeutiful detailled scenery (outside and inside), great characters, and very nice stickering work (MSC and Compher on the screen made me smile)!

As compher said this level is intense, and really action-packed..! Love the crane explosion scene, the oxygen bottles exploding, the Jeep section... everything!

The gameplay was fun and the difficulty well-balanced.

We just encoutered a little problem on our 1st play : we get stuck in the elevator that goes underground. It stopped once down but the door didn't opened...don't know why.... (Chuck took a picture and upload it on the level).
After waiting a little, we restarted the level, and on our second play, everything went fine.
Maybe better make some testing to see why/if it can happen again.

Anyway, really great work!
I'll replay it alone tomorrow, to rate it :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 it

Fantastic level, five stars and the red shaped thingy.

I glitched out of the level by accident though, when you go get that yellow explosive thing from the yellow box, I saw a prize bubble, so I tried going for it but I fell down behind the handrail, there was no gas down there, so I recommend putting a shark or two to swallow the player if he falls down.

Oh there's a picture:
http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac317/javi_haguse/SB03.jpg
See that middle section, with the hand rail in the thin-middle layer? I fell behind that. Right in front of that boarded-up door.

Finally you have released your masterpiece!
Ive played this a few times now and i love it, its a level that i would never get bored of playing.
Its not to long or short and the visuals and gameplay keep me coming back for more!
The detail in the level is amazing, you concerntrate on the smallest detail which gives the level a realistic look.
My favourite part as you know is the crane explosion, i could watch that over and over. Amazing visuals there!
I will have to 5 :star: and <3 it when i get back on lbp as i didnt realise it was officially released!
All your hard (LONG) work has paid off Javi! Well done to Mrsupercomputer and Comphermc for their help too, they sure gave u a kick up the backside! lol

Thanks for the comments and for finding the glitch! I'll definitely add some gas at the bottom (if it fits )

Yea, I noticed that too! For some reason every now and then, the doors at the bottom wouldn't open correctly. I saw the pic last night, which was hilarious btw, and tried to fix it. I believe it was a bad piston.. so i think everything is fine now... i hope..lol

Well, it's been a long time coming, but I think it was worth it. Like Compher, I've been there through most of the levels production and it's been exciting to see it evolve into this epic, action packed adventure.

Like Javi's Descent series, this level's atmosphere is incredible. As you traverse the environment, you'll see rocks fall, hear bridges creak, and even create some of your own destruction to overcome obstacles. All of this really helps to bring the world to life and you'll find yourself stopping to stare at all the intricate detail in the level.

Well done Javi! I can't wait for the sequel!

Yea I think I do. BTW - liked the change to the area after the bridge with the cart - much easier to navigate than the original. The crane area makes much more sense now too. Nice updates on those two areas. Oh and I can only assume the cat survived as he doesn't appear in the second viewing of that area

I got all the prize bubbles too - nicely done hiding those.

Yeah, at first I was like... yeah this is cool... then a friggin crane exploded and I was like... now thats what Im talking about... then I went into an underground base that started falling to pieces around me and I was like... Aw thats just awesome.... then a jeep pops up out of nowhere and I make a dramatic getaway and I was like.... ma head asplode! Your right what you said, this is my type of level
Great job, your no doubt going to get 2 5 star ratings and 2 hearts as I played on my fiancees account this time but now I have to go back and play it as wexfordian as you have prize bubbles actually worth keeping!

I absolutely love this level in every single way! I'm still trying to figure out how the thermo didn't explode. I love the characters, they were unique, and had style. I say that you did an amazing job (cophermc and mrsupercomputer too for whatever they helped with), every thing was so pretty and cool. I loved the end where all of the action started to happen. Taking the car on the llift, then speeding right out, then with all of the crazy explosions, totally amazed me. By the way, I found the secret duckey sticker, and I noticed a lot of other cool things (the character names). The story was also interesting, I actually remember it. So, overall, this was an all around amazing level that everyone should play right now. You deserve a .

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star:, <3ed it, and gave you a creator <3.

Ok, now in all seriousness.

This is not exactly my kind of level, so if I say that I loved every bit of it, go figure how much I loved it.

The very start tells you that you're up to play something outstanding. This level is one of the most "atmospheric" ones I've seen. What I'm trying to say with this is that every little detail seems sompletely fiting. Javi, you made a believable world out of 3 layers. Hats off. Returning to the start; you managed to extract every bit of good-lookingness of that old wood material. Even an element as overused as those hanging bridges looks original to me, more than original, life-like, which is something not that easy achievable in LBP.

Then you navigate trough some rocks and whatnot, which -hey- looks and plays pretty simple, but darn it, it feels so well placed. When you arrive at the part with the lifting machine (la grua, ya sabes) you get to recieve an spectacular lesson when it comes to design. I acctually took a photo -without uploading- just because I felt like, in the same vibe as a Japanese tourist would take one.
If there is something that I like, as I said, are the little touches. So, the bomb (battery or that thing ready to explode, whatever it is) falls down, and it's container breaks -not in that order, haha!- I couldn't help it but to love it, Javi!
I would also write something elaborated about the explosion, but that would be pointless. There's already a word for it and it's COOL. (btw, next time I hang around in create mode, I gotta take a look at how you make it fall exactly how you want it to).

After that, that big old rust house looks even better. I believe it might feel like I'm exagerating all this a bit out of friendship, but I actually mean it all. The house looks spectacular, and never would I have guessed that some black lines would -damm!- look so darn well. The puzzle is inventive and keeps the flow of the level going, and what it's most important, it finally transports you where the action is set.

The caverns underground are everything but short on beauty, and the militar looking elements are perfectly integrated.
Also, I hate tiny stairs.

Now, my favorite thing in this level are the characters. They look professional, and the stickers are used in a cunning way. By any chance, Javi, are you good at drawing? Looks like. Both the militar guy and the girl are perfect.

Now something I found very cinematic here it is the fact that mayhem unfolds when you're diving. Some lights from above, camera shake and a corpse sinking. And we already know there has been something going on, something huge. If there is something I love is this kind of indirect narrative.

The way in which you use the explosion in order to create gameplay is also really nice, and the obstacles you use don't break the realistic feeling of all the thing. I've got to say, though, that shelf climbing bored me a bit, but that's a lil' nitpick.
The harmed militar guy looks as perfect as before, but slightly more blood stained, though. Again, more use of the destroyed building in order to create gameplay. Clever while matching.

And oh boy, the car. I wish I had your ability to create those, honestly. How could you make it look so good? How could you make it ride so well? Where in the world did you get that awesome idea of the car being lifted up!?

And, at last, the ride. Some explosions just at our back while going at full speed, just to make an awesome loop -at least, in my playtrough it made a loop!- and it delivers us to the scoreboard.

:star::star::star::star::star: + <3 + creator <3

PD: Is there a way to remove good griefs?

I didn't like this level... I LOVED IT. This level has the best detailed visuals I have ever seen on Littlebigplanet. Even the sound was good, as it matched up with everything. The giant explosion while you were underwater was very suprising, and that was my favorite part of the level.

5 stars, a heart, and a brilliant tag from me.

The details, the details! This is so beautifully made Javi, very cinematic. You're up there with Anposteller in creating atmospheric destruction. The characters deserve singling out too, just awesomely stickered and designed. Congrats, its a doozy!

Theres one checkpoint that could do with being sensor activated or moved- after it all starts to blow, theres a small room with some shelf jumping up to the duct that takes you to the jeep. The checkpoint is placed on a higher shelf, with some fire between you and it. If you die on the fire, you have to go all the way back to before the diving section. No biggie, but once you get into the momentum of escaping you it's probably better not to take the pressure off, so I'd make that activate as soon as the player enters the room, or just bring it down to floor level - it just interrupts the flow a little bit....

Well, this level just shot straight into the ranks of my favourite ever LBP levels! All the different environments were so rich in detail and atmosphere ? even tiny things like the greenery on the lift on the end of the crane and the pictures on the laptops inside the facility. I loved how dynamic you made it too. Almost every section had falling rocks, breaking steps and great sound effects to bring the whole thing alive. And then there are the spectacular explosions to add some great drama. It all goes to make one really immersive level ? fantastic stuff.

There?s a good strong story too, helped by the awesome characters. I also enjoyed the bubble hunting. You?ve got some cleverly hidden bubbles in there. I?m missing one prize bubble and one score bubble I can see but don't have the skills to get, but there must be more of them out there than that, given Comphermc?s score is 160 more than mine. Hhmm I can see I?m going to have play this again and again. Luckily with this level that?s a pleasure and not a chore!

:star::star::star::star::star: & <3

BTW I agree with julesyjules about that checkpoint. I got trapped amongst the shelves looking for secret bubbles and had to re-spawn and because the checkpoint hadn't been triggered I ended up quite a way away. Only a minor annoyance but easily fixed I imagine.

Woah, epic level.
It was kinda short but still awesome. I guess you can't make a spectacular level that is very long because of the thermo.
Those explosions were awesome and I just love that crane, it looks so good!

I also managed to find the ducky sticker and the small cutouts of you. I uploaded a pic of me standing there with the cutouts.
I like the idea of having secret pics as monitors on computers, I guess comph made that since the same thing is found on the logic pack.

Those are actually cutouts of mrSC and Compher, which I stole the idea from one of Comphy's levels (Cloudy With a Chance of Teamwork). The duckie was all comphy, he jumps into ppl's levels and he sneaks a duckie sticker!.. always keep an eye on him! Now the screens, they just looked weird being empty so I just added some pics that I had.

Love the way you made the explosions and earthquake and all the realistic stuff it looked very realistic, my favourite part is where the tower (or was is a tower i dont remember) crushed and then you are able to use it as a bridge.
The visuals were great too i wish there were more levels like this

Amazing level there, I can't even imagine how long it must have taken to make but it was incredible, we really enjoyed it. Well done indeed. :star::star::star::star::star: <3 2010-05-15 00:01:00

Now this is an great level. The level design and lighting looked radical and the gameplay is radically jaw dropping. I liked the idea when you placed an time bomb near the crane operator and after it exploded, the crane turned into an platform. The characters are cool too but sad to see them dead. Radical level.2010-05-15 17:35:00

I have reviewed your level and I was very impressed, is the best action scene in LBP successful and really happy about that, it's incredible what you've done, every aspect of stage design, lights, sound effects, the webcam everything is really very good, you have a great job and is really taking the time to do it, there is nothing better than what you've accomplished, it is also entertaining, and longer than that is rarely achieved. The explosions are very well achieved, the stickers are correct at all sites, there is no empty place.

I've given you :star::star::star::star::star: because it's really phenomenal.
I would like to check my level and give me your opinion. Thank you very much. https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=26126-Enchanted-adventure

Hey!

I've played this twice, both times with a friend it was amazing both times. Probably one of the best action levels I've played on LBP.
Great details and atmosphere.
Excellent level! I want a sequel.. Now!l

He killed Kelly actually. Which is quite rude since [Fun Fact] Kelly is my girlfriend [/Fun Fact]. Hence the line of dialogue that makes no sense... It was so funny the first time he and mrsupercomputer surprised me with that.

Haha!

Wow! I can't play this right now, as i'm away from my PS3 until sunday, but from the pictures and video, this looks like Subterranean Setbacks will finally get a run for its money as my favourite level of all time. I love the way everything was so intricate with the tiny railings and also the way the world was destroyed around you to create gameplay elements. This is the first thing i'm doing as soon as I get onto my Ps3.
And btw, that Jeep is EPIC.

Absolutely stunning. It was the perfect length for me, I love all the little details, and I have no idea how you did the steps falling off seemingly without dissolve. The Crane scene was, as I suspected, the most amazing thing I have seen in LBP. (Not because of the complexity, because although I imagine it would be fairly complex, I doubt it would compare to the Calculators and stuff insane people have made. It's amazing because of the way you got it to work so well. It must have taken you weeks of tweaking before it finally fell right!)
You just shot straight into my 3 favourite creators. Needless to say, 15 Stars, Brilliant, Beautiful, Complex, Heart and a Creator heart. Brilliant work!

Hi Javi

I played this some weeks ago and just had no time to drop some lines here.

As always: your visuals are overwhelming realistic. I love that very much. You created a brilliant atmosphere here! If I remember it right, I stumbled over one part where I stuck for 5min or so - there was a part (if I'm right and remember the correct level^^) where I have to jump into a crane to pull a leaver - first I thought that I had to jump up to get there, maybe my sreen was too dark to realize that there was another option from the ceiling... :-) This said it gives me a nice idea for a time-based hint-option that activates itself after (let's say) 60 seconds... maybe I will include this in my next level in these areas ...

Thx for this cinematic level - such levels keep me playing LBP !!! great stuff...

Neo :-)

Played it this morning and my head was blown (although I remember you showing me the crane scene ages ago). Definitely goes into my top 10 levels mate, outstanding in everything from playability, to graphics, from atmosphere to awesome destruction. I'm very wary of releasing Mars 5 that's taken me months to create, because this kicks it's lilly white *** all over the place.

I'm in awe and peeved all at the same time. ****ing stunning mate, very very well done.

I had a question to all you guys. There's been a huge ridiculous discussion going on the comments section of Security Breach regarding my use of the D word... (no, its not donuts lol)
It's been one person saying that he's going to report my level because I'm not complying with the EULA. Now, this word is not censored on LBP and it's just one person complaining, so should I take it out or just ignore it? is it really offensive??

I don't think it's offensive but maybe small children do, I'd say keep it anyways

If the word is directed at someone (and I'm not saying that it is, I just don't know how the word is used), then yes, it's offensive and you should probably remove it. Other than that, it's not really a problem in my opinion.

Well the line goes something like this: "...even though you've shown some ******* skill thus far, blah blah..."

Hey Javi,
I just played this again to try and find this infamous "D word" but I found nothing. There was a door, a down and a demonstrated but that's all.

(Finally found the Compher and MrSC cut-outs! )

I think it was "Though you've shown some ******* fine skills thus far,".

And, lol, I was the first person to replay to Galaxy's comment. Apparently there's no reasoning with him. I'd say remove the word, because your level risks moderation if he griefs it. Maybe not, but I wouldn't take the chance if I were you.

I'm not offended by it, but as a parent I could certainly see how parents would not want it in their childs game. Considering LBP is rated everyone, I would suggest asking "could I imagine a cartoon character saying it in a rated G movie"?2010-07-29 19:12:00

I mean, I wouldn't have a problem removing it. I can always write 'darn' or something. But my confusion is that LBP is obviously a rated E game, and the didn't censor the word. So did they think it was non-offensive? or did they miss it? who knows...2010-07-29 19:16:00

I don't believe it''s really that big of a deal, but you know the LBP community. Well, the younger half at least. They'll good grief thing just to feel like they have authority. I say that if it's at risk of being good-griefed, then replace it with "dang" or "darn". Just to be safe... 2010-07-29 19:16:00

Yeah, who knows.... obviously it isn't considered a curse word, but it may be considered strong language. From a movie perspective, it would be enough to kick a movie from a g to a pg rating.

hmm.. you're right.

The ironic part is that it's probably the same kid that afterwards goes and plays Grand Theft Auto!

It's fine, don't worry about it. LBP is rated E, which means...

"Titles rated E (Everyone) have content that may be suitable for ages 6 and older. Titles in this category may contain minimal cartoon, fantasy or mild violence and/or infrequent use of mild language."

So, you're good.

Hey man! I played this level a little while ago and here's what I thought of it.

Man, this level was pretty amazing! You DEFINITELY deserved that level spotlight! I wasn't really sure what to expect from the very start of the level, but you did an amazing job with the looks of the place and everything. Outside of the, what I think were supposed to be headquarters? (Sorry, I forgot most of the description already) the looks were great with all the stones and everything, it was awesome. The gameplay was great and having to find that key to blow up the crane or something was great fun. I played the level with a friend and I was getting a little bit of lag from it but for me, that didn't take away from the overall experience. This was a great level and it sure deserved that spotlight! I'll be looking forward to some more awesome levels from you!

I gave you :star::star::star::star::star: five stars and one heart for you level <3, and another for you as a creator <3.

Great job man!

thanks for hijacking me into this. i finally got to see it for myself after i got back, and video didn't do it justice. it reminded me of the tribe by phife24 but with character work and platforming of mrsupercomputer, the polish of compher, and like post-apocalyptic detail, but with no clutter and much longer. impressive, man. easily one of the best i've played this last month.2010-08-30 01:28:00
