I need to make a hand come grab an apple using pistons

ok

so you pass a sensor switch, then i want the hand to be pushed down, activating the magnetic switch on the apple which brings it up to the hand, and then the hand goes up again...

Thanks

You could potentially use two Set-Reset Switches, one for each piston, from the LBPC Intermediate Logic Pack (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=18579-Intermediate-Pack-Overview),

Set-Reset

Allows two inputs to control the state of one output. One input is only able to turn the output on, and the other input is only able to turn the output off. If the output is in the state that the input controls, the input does nothing.

along with one 2-input OR Switch from the Beginner Logic Pack (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=18576-Beginner-Pack-Overview). Set both Set-Reset swithes and the OR switch to Directional (<-/->) output (their inputs also need to be directional). Connected as follows:

Apple Piston Set-Reset:

"down" command: player sensor 1, earlier in level (action *not visible*)
"up" command: magnetic key on hand (when it is down).

Hand Piston Set-Reset:

"down" command: player sensor 2 (near apple)
"up" command: 2-input OR Switch, which has inputs:

player sensor 1, earlier in the level (action *not visible*)
magnetic key on apple (when it is half-way up, near hand)

So the player comes into that section of the level and passes by sensor 1, such that the apple is placed in the down position, and the hand is placed in up position, if they are not already there. Then the player passes by sensor 2, such that the hand comes down. When the hand is completely down, the apple begins to come up. When the apple is half-way up (or however far), it triggers the hand to go up too, while the apple continues to go up with it.

Will that do it?
