(game art questionable)

Hey forum for those who didn't know Ubisoft confirmed a few months back that they are releasing a new assassins creed game with both single and multiplayer content also known as assassins creed 2.5 the story continues with Ezio the main protagonist from AC 2, well i'll just let read the link provided below from WIRED MAGAZINE.

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/05/assassins-creed-brotherhood
http://www.destructoid.com/assassin-s-creed-brotherhood-details-update--172965.phtml

I was browsing through play.com today and noticed that the release date is the 07/09/10 but this is not confirmed by UBISOFT so it's not offical. AC 3 however is in the works and rumours spread suggest you be playing the ultimate assassin Desmond at the end of November 2011.

so are you looking forward to this game? because I certainly am!

No clues yet, but the mutiplayer characters are around your specific preferences and kill techniques...
I'm guessing it will be classic gameplay types but modified, with free roam like GTA...

GAME BREIF
The critically acclaimed single-player experience of Assassin's Creed is back and better than ever as Ezio returns in an epic struggle against the powerful Templar Order.
Now a legendary Master Assassin, Ezio must journey into Italy's greatest city, Rome, center of power, greed and corruption to strike at the heart of the enemy. Defeating the corrupt tyrants entrenched there will require not only strength, but leadership, as Ezio commands an entire Brotherhood that will rally to his side. Only by working together can the Assassins defeat their mortal enemies.

Multiplayer
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood offers a never-before-seen multiplayer layer. Players can help the Templars by using Abstergo to train in the art of Assassination to eliminate the Assassins once and for all. Players can choose from a wide range of unique characters, each with their own signature weapons and assassination techniques, and match their skills against other players from all over the world in different game modes.

Ezio's friends return

I am enjoying the multiplayer BETA as I write this. My only complaint is that 60% of the time I am staring at a loading screen (staring at it right now in fact) instead of playing the game (I also had a couple of freezes) but hey, it's a BETA. I like that they completely ripped off Call of Duty with a perk, killstreak and even losing streak system. It works well and there is always the carrot on the stick pushing you to keep playing to unlock the next perk to customize your character with.

My favorite moment thus far was hiding in a haystack and waiting for my pursuer. He arrived soon enough and kept circling around the vicinity of the haystack not knowing where I was. When he had his back turned I jumped out and stunned him for 200 XP

The multiplayer on this looks quite fantastic actually, I love how it's balanced so that if you are actually attempting to blend in, then you lose mobility and your opponents will have no idea whether you are a player or an NPC, which adds a nice element of balance and tactical compromise to it.

I was going to buy this for the campaign mode alone but can definitely see myself getting involved with multiplayer (which is a rarity for me).

Yep, apparently your character will act as an AI until you touch the controller, after re-spawning

Well even if you are controlling the character there are also NPCs dotted around that look exactly like you, so as long as you are behaving in a socially acceptable way or whatever they call it in the game), you will be indistinguishable and killing randoms cancels the current contract so you aren't going to get very far by guessing.2010-10-05 17:23:00

actually it's not that difficult to do, games are rated on kill scores not the number of kills you do it can either be a close call between players, or not.

I won 1st in the last 5 secs in the beta.

I had a funny hunch ezio might die. (if that happens)

Limited - 2 MP characters, 2 Maps, chest, Codex, Map, Cards, Lineage DVD, Game soundtrack.

The Limited Special edition has a lot more content so thats a plus, although Lineage and the Soundtrack are Free online , the map is most likely going t be online to after a few days, I personally bought the Special Edition because of the high chances of DLC.

The entire assassin's creed story is incredibly fascinating. Tying together all significant moments in history with the pieces of eden is just awesome. I prefered solving the glyphs for the little hints rather than the movie.
Things like How Henry Ford passed it on to H...
How Houdini was killed by a templar etc... Awesome. I'm a real history person.

Will buy this game just to find out more of the story, other things are just an incredible bonus.

From what I can tell the main thing Ezio has to do to survive is not have any kids. Although sort of confusing that the opening of brotherhood has him being shot. Or is it him?2010-10-16 15:01:00

Ugh, the movie was so lame once you put it together... I was hoping that it would at least have had something interesting in it, that you wouldn't have guessed without completion. But yeah, the little snippets of back story were cool

Think I'm gonna buy the ?70 version tbh now. It does look all kinds of awesome.

The point really was that all the info contained in the video could be summed up in one sentence. A sentence you could have guessed after uncovering 25% of the video. Therefore the rest of the video segments were pointless. I just hoped that when you patched it together, you got something extra, which you didn't. As it is, the puzzles themselves gave more insight into the story than the rewards for completing them as aya aya:kzz killzoneaya that guy up there pointed out.

I didn't pre order it either but i got the Special edition.

As i said on the Ubisoft forum.

I paid ?39.99 for the special edition of the game at GAME (with map and officer). I didn't want the codex edition because of all the pointless stuff that came with the game, all the "exclusive" codes will be online after a few days anyway (might be), so will the map of rome, so will the soundtrack, and Lineage is free online anyway.

I didn't want the codex, box and cards for almost twice the price.

New video incoming, you might need to watch in HD because youtube hasn't fully rendered it yet.

notice the exclusive codex edition drachen armour for ezio at 1:56 (not that impressive if I'm honest) which comes with the codex edition of the game. But none the less the game really looks awesome

How is 360 better? no 360 players have played online game yet. I do not understand how some 360 players think they have a better online performance.

trust me, PS3 players have a bonus content, but it doesn't add anything onto the main story line. I personally think you'd be better off with the PS3 version, up to you.

okay,

I (like most) don't want to create a console argument, each has pros and cons.

There is no direct difference between online play.

rtm? please explain.

I did say some 360 players, in my statement.

You're getting which has better online performace mixed up with friends will be buying the 360 version so it would be a better experience to play with them.

Arg... I usually have really good grammar, must've been in a hurry. Sorry for the confusion. Yeah, I meant the 360 version would be better for me because my friends are getting it on 360. But I prefer trophies, there's the free DLC and I very very rarely play online games. So annoying, I wish my friends had PS3s .

Ign = 8.5...

Wtf!!!

Uhhh, IGN gave it an 8 according to the link I posted. Maybe IGN UK gave it an 8.5? Anyway, reviews are meaningless. What matters is your experience and appreciation of the game. Every game I buy I love because I only buy games I KNOW I will love. I will research a game months prior to release and know everything there is to know so I am never disappointed with what I buy. A review is ultimately one person's opinion, nothing more, nothing less. I can already tell you that this game will be a 9/10 for me, for you it might be a 10, for the IGN reviewer it was an 8, such is life

That is why I only listen to this guy; http://www.youtube.com/user/inecomcompany?blend=1&ob=4

He doesn't use numbers or anything like them in his reviews. He simply states how awesome the game is (Well, he doesn't rant about some tiny glitch that no one cares about.) and then he says who would like this game.

-The single player is very enjoyable with epic cinematics and tons of action, there is a cool scene which I originally thought was part of Uncharted 2 with Desmond and Lucy going through a big tunnel, very enjoyable.
-You also get a new cool set of armour, which looks totally awesome when you get it in full armour, which is a cool feature.
-The Virtual training kept me occupied for many minutes with it's killing spree sessions where you get to slaughter endless amounts of soldiers in a single streak for increments of 45 seconds to 2 minutes, very fun.
-Multiplayer is totally awesome with an endless amount of gameplay and many challenges perks and other goodies, and is backed with a storyline so the hardcore fan-nerds don't make a big deal about it, which is a nice touch.
in conclusion, from terd to Mr. Noodles, it gets.... an Owl, and I <3 owlz.

Is there a free roam in multiplayer? So you can just roam around with your friends with no specific task?
Please tell me you can kill civilians now?
Is it awesome?

Also, I can't waaait. I WANT IT NOW!! *starts rolling on the floor having a tantrum*

No free roam in MP sorry.

Nope you can't kill civilians, these will de-sync the memory.

Is it awesome?
not sure I haven't got it yet, but yes it is awesome.

The modern day ending is supposed to be a shocker...

If they manage to put in an ending that makes me not hate Desmond and all the other modern day characters, then that would be a real shocker

Since people are talking about a sequel, where do you think the next setting should be? Give a few suggestions.

> Bolshevik Russia - AC trademark is to place the story in areas never done before, and times of social and political change... What's more this than the Russian Revolution?

> The troubles - We need a game based in Ireland. I'd say some templarism could work it's way into The Fenians.

> Founding America - We already know many founding fathers were templars etc. It'd be fun.

Some thoughts:

- The expanded economy system is really great and will make you want to loot every single body you find to make sure you have a lot of money. Money is withdrawn from banks which have a max capacity that can be increased.

- Being able to ride your horse in town is not only very cool but also very useful considering how massive Rome is. Also, being able to whistle for your horse at any time ala Red Dead Redemption is a welcome addition There are other means of transportation as well...

- The writing is really strong as always. Great characters, great dialogue, great voice acting.

- The brutal, cinematic kills are back with a bunch of new animations. LOVE IT! A new type of enemy adds some variety to the mix.

- A LOT of side quests and things to collect. This game will keep you busy.

Back to Rome for now

I'm getting this strange bug...Every now and then, when I'm riding my horse (The royal one of course, I will not ride on any other horse than my trusty armored steed that I have managed to keep for the entire time) the game freezes for a second, but the strange part is that when everything stops, the horse's tail is still affected by inertia and swings around as if the horse really did stop.
I also managed to be impaled by one of those poles you climb on, Ezio was stuck with his arms in the air and the pole right through him...I had to exit and re-enter the Animus because I couldn't move or do anything.

These do not hinder the game in any way, I just thought I'd share them since they were rather strange.

I am on sequence 4 now, this game is definitely on my GOTY list. There are so many things to do that it really blows AC 2 out of the water. I love the recruitment system and it is beyond cool calling in assassins for some help. One of my favorites is intentionally being spotted by a guard on a rooftop, call in an assassin and watch them grab the guard from behind and toss him of the roof while I stand there watching lol.

I also played some multiplayer, very impressed. The 4 on 4 game mode is amazing. When we were being hunted I was hiding in a bale of hay. All of a sudden I see 3 red triangles revealing our hunters who were openly pursuing my teammates. One passed by me then another. As the second passed by I jumped out and stunned him. I then chased the other guy and stunned him too! The third guy was watching though and ended up taking me out lol. I came first place on my team but we lost by a couple of hundred points

So I finally managed to get a chance to play this today. It's really awesome.

One thing though, I went to play some multiplayer but I couldn't find an option to choose which game mode you play. So I just assumed it picks randomly, but every time I go on play now I end up in Wanted. I've played Wanted plenty of times in the beta and kinda wanna try the other modes.

So do I have to unlock other modes, or does it just randomly pick and it's pure coincidence I've ended up in Wanted every time?

Glad it doesn't take 10 minutes to join a game any more though.

Am I the only one feeling that much of the updates that have been done between AC2 and Brotherhood are kind of a step back?

For example:

The assassins contract missions. They are far to easy to set up and pull in far to high a revenue stream. It's barely worth renovating shops for revenue any more, as the assassins will dominate your income. Other than that I kinda like the whole brotherhood of assassins thing.

The follow-up kills (they are new, right?). The combat mechanic in the second game was a massive improvement on the first, and one of the best melee-based combat systems I've seen in a game, with the different classes of enemies and your personal weapon choices being very significant to your combat strategy. Now, not so much. On a follow-up kill, all enemies (bar specials) are considered equal and take zero effort to defeat, and your weapon choice is irrelevant too (bar the fact that quicker weapons are better, so just stick to blades or short weapons). FFS Heavenly Sword is more subtle and tactical than this.

I'm liking the new game, it just feels like they've added things without really thinking them through, simply because they felt like they had to add additional mechanics Though maybe it's deliberate, with the increases in gunplay here, maybe they are setting us up for the next game being far less like the earlier games. If so, AC2 might end up being the peak in this series for me.

I only played AC2, but I don't see why you need money in it at all. All the new weapons and ammunition were pretty much useless, once you remembered that you simply block and counter virtually every attack. Aside from where it was required I didn't use anything but the basic sword, dagger and hidden blades in my playthrough.

The combat mechanic in the second game was a massive improvement on the first, and one of the best melee-based combat systems I've seen in a game, with the different classes of enemies and your personal weapon choices being very significant to your combat strategy.
You really need to play Demon's Souls. AC's melee combat is really not good in comparison.

Anyway, like all AC games I will buy this in a few month when it costs only a fraction of the current price or comes out as a GOTY edition.

Demon's souls was amazing, played it through with a friend on co-op (via summoning), it lacked story though. At least the gameplay made up for this.

I dunno, personally, I thought it was a really great game. But when I play a game that's story driven, I'm driven to play it for the story, and I don't really analyze every single thing. If I like to play it, then it's a good game in my book. I liked everything about it.2010-11-22 18:15:00

Unlike Zim, I play this game to the max. I analyze and complete everything the game has to offer.

I've only got to sequence four, but I've been side questing too.

Personally, I feel the game isn't a step back, the additions to the game have created a better experience.

Hey guys I found a really good way of ranking up recruits really quickly, without all the waiting, obviously you need to rank up some (at least 3 for every 1 recruit) assassins to level 10 through contract missions. The safest way is to 100% every contract so there is no risk of failure, and repeat over and over, Ezio can take care of himself while all your assassins are gone.

Once you have a group of assassins you can start the next stage.

Take a 5 star mission and assign 3 assassins and 2 recruits to that mission, it should be 100%. in 11 mins the mission should be over and your recruits should be high level 6 or 7 repeat the contract stage 2 more times then they should be ready for the ceremony on tiber island.

Hope this helps people, it saves a lot of time. I have a full guild of Master Assassins which i got in a matter of hours.

nope, sorry Rogar.

If you mean in Story mode, then no. Rome is the only city you can go to, although in the beginning you start out in Monteriggioni, but that's pretty much it.

And also, I hope all of you here have seen this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKrtbUinWOU).

I am currently on sequence 7, really taking my time with the game and savoring every moment. I love the Romulus Lairs, each is different from the last and they all have a unique look. The hidden glyphs in AC2 were some of my favorite parts in the game so I am happy to see they have not only returned but have been updated in a very cool way. I am currently level 10 in multiplayer, absolutely loving it!

FREE DLC is arriving in December:

Alliance was really fun to play, but from my observations i think Manhunt is the best way to earn expierience.
The harlequin is so intimidating online I can't imagine it in ultra armor. I hope at one point, their will be an online character as Ezio, or Altair at one point

I've beaten all the Memory Sequences.... I wish I'd taken my time to do all the side-missions while working on the story, since now I'm just not motivated enough to go back and do all the side-missions. =/2010-11-28 14:18:00

Has anyone else checked out the Assassin's Network recently?

I dont think they had it before but now you can see your singleplayer and multiplayer stats on the site. I think there is a bit more singleplayer stats than there is in the actual game

The DLC will be made available for free.

The Animus Project Update 1.0 will include a brand-new game mode and brand new map for Assassin?s Creed Brotherhood Multiplayer. The game mode, Advanced Alliance, will make the original Alliance Mode with target identification and engagement more difficult than in original Alliance Mode, thus providing a more challenging experience for players. With three teams of two players each, Advanced Alliance is a tougher test for players and rewards teams that use stealth techniques to hunt their targets.

Located on a rocky tidal island of Normandy in France, the new map, Mont Saint-Michel, offers breathtaking scenery sure to enchant all. Its particular topography of narrow streets, high-perched bell tower and multi-leveled architecture is perfect for hunters and predators alike to surge from out of nowhere to execute their prey. To survive, recruits will need to use free-running and narrow roads to their advantage.

?We are very thrilled to be able to offer the first Multiplayer DLC for Assassin?s Creed Brotherhood for absolutely free,? said Sebastien Puel, executive producer, Ubisoft Montreal. ?We wanted to say thank you to our fans for making Brotherhood such a huge success its opening week. We are very proud of the unique and innovative Multiplayer mode it offers, and hope the fans enjoy the new content.?
