I've got a set of skullcandy headphones that have been incredibly resilient throughout the years. They just won't break lol. Not that I'm trying to break them... but I don't exactly treat them like gold either They are pretty inexpensive, have decent sound quality and last forever, so if you're looking for something not too pricey but good I'd say go with those.

I've also got a pair of really nice Sony noise cancelling head phones, which are awesome. They're pretty high and, and were quite expensive but their sound quality is awesome. I bought a warrenty with them because I was afraid thay might break, but they've been good so far and I've had them for a little over a year now.

I never really wear headphones... prefer earphones. Love the Sennheiser CX300s. Also the Soundwise T4s are very good, and very inexpensive. Only ?17.50 and the sound quality it comparable to the Sennheisers. Thinking of picking up a set of S6s for when I'm running... the have a removable, over the ear thing. Love the fact that it's removable.

And none of that is relevant because you're looking for headphones... Oh well. I just prefer the noise isolation I get for these type of earphones, they block out all external sound. Excellent for when your travelling.
