Water Towering

Water Toweringglue
In the near future, climate change is a harsh reality. The sea leven has risen dramatically. Sackcity, know for its high buildings, managed to survive thanks to their massive levees... until now.
Sackecologists have warned us over the years, but it has finally happened. The sea level has risen much more than expected. Sackcity, which is widely know by its skyline full of the highest skyscrapers of the sacksphere, barely survived destruction by quickly building massive levees to contain the water. But they were made in a hurry... You are in one of the cities multiple skyscrapers when suddenly the levees start to fall apart.

In order to survive, you have to run for your life and get to the roof as soon as possible. You start in the 80th floor, and salvation is in the 100th level. All 21 levels exist in the map, and are accessible... but to explore some of them you'll have to find the hidden diving suit.

This is my first go at level building, and I'm even ashamed to present this humble work among the incredible creators that inhabit LBPC, so don't be too harsh with the ratings, I know I have a lot of skills to learn and improve.

The level title is "Water Towering", and you'll find under my PSN account, glue. (Originally, I wanted to name the level "Water-scraper", but the name was censored for some reason ).

Hi Glue

OK, so just played....I wasn't that impressed to start, the graphics are repetitive, and bland, same old scenery again and again.....but you know what I quite enjoyed my self as I started getting further. I liked the fact there where NO hints (not that they were needed) and you came up to the next puzzle and had to stop and take a quick work out of what to do before continuing. I'm sorry to say I didn't finish as right near the top, there is an electrified table at forty five degrees blocking the way. I assume there was a water level sensor somewhere to make the water level raise, and make it float out of the way, but I couldn't find it, I died, and it took me to the ending...thinking about it, was this SUPPOSED to happen? (If so, lame ending(sorry), and if not, you need to check that out.

Another pointer, don't bother with the 'free' prize stuff, with out wanting to sound harsh, there was nothing in the level worth having.

I thought the idea was great, and from the games I've played, quite unique. Id have scored higher if I'd finished and if the backgrounds/details were more 'refined', but still a good game. 3 (and a half) stars.

If you could F4F my level Spider mech tank walker that would be great, cheers.

Hi Glue

Hi! And Thanks!!

I guess it can get a bit repetitive, but that's how most office buildings are. However, I'll try to do a few things about it with the last half degree in the termometer

That's a "game over" ending. After the TV tells you this is your last change, you get there if you die before getting to the top.

At that point, hmmm, should I spoil my own level? You're supposed to get out of the tower and use the window cleaner elevator. I didn't know it was so easy to miss, I'll try something about that.

I agree, it's a bit bland. If you're trying to make it a realistic office building, then realise that there are theme changes within those builings. Plus there is nothing to indicate that it's an office building and actually there is more evidience supporting that it's an apartment in which case rooms can be different.

Realism aside, the gameplay is also a bit bland and the idea of electrifed wood confuses me. I found it really annoying that you have a "gameover" screen for the last little bit. Really, it just seems that you wanted an excuse to get people to try again. like the above poster said, the prizes are iffy and a small flight stairs does not deserve to be a prize.

One reccomendation would be to include a checkpoint on each floor because it is also very annoying when you have to restart on the last floor when you die at the end of the upper. I would also reccomend using appropriate music and lighting to fit the theme.

It was a good concept that could have been much better. It's an very average level that I gave a :star::star::star: out of :star::star::star::star::star: on.

I'm confused. Could you point me to the thread of that level? Did you change "gunlister" for "sackboy"?
