all is not as it seems

I'm 'making' a level where it looks like a nice environment, however (as in the title) somethings are different to how they look.
For example a rock that floats away when you get close, or a tree that spawns little spike monsters. eventually building up to either a boss or a new level. Any thoughts or ideas for traps? the theme of the level would be grass fields/ desert, possibly ranging into winter.
