| the sync options allow you to time your contraptions as you wish - It's easier to explain with an example: If you have 3 pistons that have the exact same settings, and are set to complete their job every 3 seconds, if you set the sync to 0 on the first, 1 second on the second one and 2 seconds on the third, you'll see that they no longer move in the same way, but act like they aren't on sync anymore - the easiest way to find out how this works is to play with it by comparing different settings (preferrably with more than a couple pistons/winches/etc) | 2010-05-05 11:51:00 Author: Shadowheaven  Posts: 378 |
| Let me give you an example. Say you have three blocks in an enclosed area with walls, a floor, and ceiling. These blocks are all the same height away from the roof. If you attach pistons to them (And the ceiling) regularly (As in, without setting the sync), all of the blocks would go up and down at the same time. But if you make the first blocks have a 0.0 sync setting, the second to have a 1.0 sync setting, and the third to a 2.0 sync setting, the will all go in consecutive order (1st blok falls, then 2nd, then 3rd, then 1st block rises, then 2nd, then 3rd....)
