Moderator Commemoration Thread

I think LBPC needs something like this, to publicly announce what's been going on with the recent Moderator Reformations, but more importantly, to show the Past-Mods their work has been appreciated. It's a bit late, but here it is...

Moderator Reformations

To those who don't know: For a long while, we've had six moderators:

-aer0blue
-supersickie
-Killian
-Whaaale
-comphermc
-mrsupercomputer

...but CC and the other moderators have thought it best to fan out some of the older, less active moderators. The two remaining moderators have been:

comphermc
mrsupercomputer

...and recently, Aya042 has become a moderator because of what I can assume to be his:

-Astounding maturity.
-Advanced technological knowledge.
-Consistent willingness to help out.
-High activity in both LBP and LBPC.
-Intelligence and thoughtfulness in everything he posts.

Through the Moderation Reformation of April 2010, aer0blue, supersickie, Whaaale, and Killian have graciously stepped down, and Aya042 has agreed to step up.

Moderator Appreciation

Although four of our moderators have stepped down, that's not to say they weren't outstanding candidates to be Moderators. I will write about my appreciation for them, and I encourage anyone else to do the same. Although I don't know them very well, I have some idea about the difficulty of being a Moderator.

Being a Moderator is a privilege, but it's still one of the hardest position of LBPC to fill. These four people never asked to be moderators. They were mature, friendly, and helpful from the beginning, but even their maturity at the beginning couldn't compare to the new level of overwhelming maturity they agreed to excise in their new positions. They had every right to decline their invitations to become moderators, but the fact that they accepted is just another example of their willingness to contribute to the well-being of the site.

Being a moderator is more than locking an occasional thread; It means taking on a new level of responsibility. You are an example to others, whom others look up to, and it is your duty to be a good role model. Each one of your posts has to be respectful, and you must show purity in all your actions. These four past-moderators couldn't have done better in this.

Some people seem to think being a moderator is easy, but sacrificing hours a day for weeks on end is a giant achievement. I know at least two of them were in College, but they still worked hard to manage the site. Their other responsibilities can range from helping with contest, playing levels, helping people regardless of who they are, organizing site skins and banners, and more.

Let this thread honor, appreciate, and recognize everything the Past-Mods have done for us .
If you have something to say, please post your appreciation.

I think it was very nice of you to post this. It must be proud for the mods, old and new.

All of your work is appreciated. Mods for LBPC have not only helped this site, but LBP itself. Everything they do helps the community, from offering help or keeping up community contests or events.

I'll end my post with a simple line.

"Mods = Gods"

Ah, such a kindly thread, and true, all of it true.

I couldn't do the job myself. I would inadvertently cause the site to go down in flames. Threads would be blowing up left and right, people would be screaming, caption contests would be crying in the corner. It would not be a healthy scene.

Many kudos should be thrown in the mods' faces, harshly if possible.

Mods=Gods Whoa there, haha.

I know, haha! Going a little far there, right?

I mean don't get me wrong, I LOVE the mods. I love them a lot. I wouldn't mind just getting together with most of them, and I don't know. We could just hang out like guys, you know. Maybe take our shirts off. If we're enjoying the company we can hug each other. Just to. I mean, just to let each other know it's appreciated.
I've also always wondered what compher's hair smelled like. So if we hugged I might try to find out. Just you know, like whatever, no big deal, just dudes hanging around, haha.

We could sit around and eat snacks. I could bake everyone a pie. I can just imagine picking the crumbs out of mr supercomputer's beard. Haha, I bet he'd look so precious with little pie crumbs in his beard...

Just hanging out, you know. Guy stuff.

I love those guys...

I love them SO much....

Excuse me... I should go, it's started raining... on my eyes...

/salutes

And yes, oldage, this is for the recent reorganization... thing. Plus some of those mods, well, they weren't TOO good... like Marino... who went all crazy... /cough cough

... Anywho, this is for recent mods. I don't really know many personally (Mostly just Whaaaaaaaaaale and Killian) they still were good... or most of them... :kz: But um yeah. /cough

So salutations for these people who take up volunteer work for us, and not because they want to have the POWAH or whatever, but because they are completely insane. Or good people. Or just find it fun. /shrug

... Meyessssssssssssss. I WOULD go into a paragraph rant describing how the olden days of mods essentially being teenagers around CC's age to now when we have three beings of supreme logic... But I jsut did that in a sentance and you don't wanna hear anyway, sooooooooooooo /runs

Exactly, all stuff you could never do with a greater deity. Unless you are a young virgin girl in Ancient Greece. In which case Zeus would disguise himself as a bro, and then rape you.

Cheers guys.

Like I said before I've been pretty busy with college work and lot of other things so I stepped down. Plus with my PS3 broken, I really hate going into the LBP threads and reading about all of the wonderful things I'm missing.

The worst part about being a mod was probably spotting the Forum Games and thinking "ugh, better go in here and see what these rapscallions have written 900 posts on in the time I was absent while I blinked". It was probably nothing compared to what Quozl had when moderating the "Spam Can" though.

Contrary to popular belief, moderators can't actually see every post/blog/visitor message on the forum at once (well I could), so what really helps them out is when people report posts, it's that little triangle with the exclamation mark in the middle at the bottom of every post.

Best of luck to the existing mods! I'll try to create as many "the user above you" threads as I can to help out!

Robot Army you say? Why... I do not compu-

Anyways, thanks guys means a lot even though I never did it for any recognition. I just loved the site so much I wanted to give back to what this site gave to me, a bunch of people I'd proudly call my friends, both young and old, sane and insane, human and animal.

And I still love this site just as much as I did when I first joined. It's just that life can be a bit hectic at times and with school and whatnot you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Group Hug.
