How do I put a sample screenshots on published levels to be viewed on the level info

Archive: 8 posts

Hello Everyone, sorry for the very obvious and maybe dumb questions. I just wanted to know.

How do I put a sample picture on a level I published so that people can see it when they're looking at the level info screen? Someone did it and I've searched everywhere online on how to do it and I found nothing. I've seen some published levels too where I could see a picture when I am looking at the level info.

Also, how do exactly people record playing LBP without using a camcorder?

Thank you in advance!

You can do this by playing through your level after you've published it, make sure that you are playing the published one and not the one from your moon, and by taking pictures of yourself and your level using the picture tool.

After you take the pictures you like then highlight the picture in your popit, press the square button and choose the upload option.

You can upload quite a few pictures though I do not know what the limit is, and after you do they will show up in the level description section after a bit of time for processing. Your uploaded pictures seem to be permanent so make sure yo upload the ones you really want to be there. Ones uploaded by players playing your level will also show up in the level description section but do seem to go away over time or when others post enough of their own pictures.

To my knowledge there isn't a way to erase a picture you've already uploaded other than to post enough new pictures that it pushes the old ones off.

I hope that this helps.

With a capture card.

The total number of pictures you can upload is 10 per level and 100 in total. See also this post (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=25066-Level-Pictures&p=433898#post433898) which explains the rules for how they work.

...or a DVD recorder.

Thank you so much for the added infos. I've done as what the above said. Playing on the published level then taking a screen shot and uploading. How long does it usually take to appear? I think it's almost 2-3 hours now and I still don't see any pictures. I did not play the levels on my moon as suggested. But I went to"My info Moon" and then "My Levels" and played my levels there. Was that ok or should have I played on the community section?2010-05-04 04:07:00

I suspect any firm estimates are going to be wildly inaccurate, but if they haven't appeared within 24 hours, then you might want to try again.

I've also found that LBP sometimes locally caches level information, so shutting down and restarting LBP might make them appear. In fact, that may be all there is to it, i.e. that the photos actually appear almost immediately, but anyone who has the level info cached won't see them until the cache is flushed, which will happen at some point during a game, depending on what you're doing, but restarting LBP will force. I'll have to experiment with this later.

Doesn't matter. I've done it both ways before, and it's been fine. They're just different ways of accessing the same level. The copy on your moon, however, is not the same level.

Oh Thanks Aya! You are right. I never exited the game last night at all but when I logged in to see them this morning again, they're there now. I went ahead and took and uploaded another picture and just quit the game and restarted it and the newest pic I took was already there now. Thanks so much for everyone's help!2010-05-04 15:47:00
