I made this level for the LBW4 competition but I'm a couple of days late . This has taken me two weeks to create, and I've put a little bit of myself into the level, I wonder if you can spot exactly what ! Theres no puzzles, or backtracking in this, I wanted to make a normal level for once, and enjoyed doing it. It was planned as one level, will end up two, but no suprises there

I'd like the thank Morgana, jww, and killzonequinn for playing through it when it was nowhere near done, comph for his expertise in sorting out what i could'nt, claptonfann for not finishing what he started , chuckmp for testing, basketsnake for some good fixes, and eternalwolf for helping me just finish up and get it published. And deviantgeek for some great lighting and detail on the scoreboard. There are probably people I've forgetten, so let me know and I'll add you all in.

Just took me 20 minutes to finish it because of how terrible I am. Irregardless, it was an amazing level. Funny, and extremely detailed. Only issues I noticed were that there was a huge chunk of censored text at the very beginning of the level, and I was constantly falling down back to earlier parts of the level.

Thanks for playing it. I forgot about that censored text lol, I'm in bed now but will fix it tomorrow. Can you tell me which parts you kept falling at? I know there are a couple of problem areas, but if they are causing major problems I will find a way to fix it

I just seen you publish it right before I was about to turn LBP off and go to bed. I thought 'Ahhh I'm knackered do I really want to play a head scratching Grant level right now?'

Well I did...and it was a lovely surprise that it wasn't so head scratching

Great fun and I quite like the nice short length of it too. Visuals are spot on! Platform is quality stuff. Another great level.

Few things I noticed: Censored speech bubble, but I think someone already mentioned that. There's a visible grab switch on a piece of wood (I have no idea how to explain where...it's not too far in...the first time you go back on yourself and up to a higher bit I think) anddd there's pieces of visible dissolve at the end (guessing they're what the magic mouths are on).

Awesome. 5 stars of course.

Love it Grant!

yep - censored magic mouth after the zombie chickens, found the visible grab on the wood as well. It's after the swinging platforms on the top left just after the checkpoint. Found a place near the barrels where it's fairly easy to break out of the level. A little thin gas should solve that easily. There's an unstickered square of dissolve near the secrets board too. Other than that it's perfect!

Fun - whimsical and oh the secrets are diabolical! Got all the cows and only missed one beer... gonna have to go find that one.

5 stars & hearted! Congratulations on another cool level!

Right at the part where there are falling platforms and red gas, the area right above it, it's really easy to fall and end up at the beginning of the level. Also, at the section with the visible grab switch, the cactus jumps have to be done precisely, I found myself dying ten times, because if you try to slow down after the first jump you can't make the second.

If you could check out my level Card-Bored that'd be great. I won't b able to make any more changes to it for a week because I won't have access to a PS3, but oh well.

Oh yeah I didn't get ANY secrets whatsoever...to be honest I didn't even see any! But still got top score...(not for long I would imagine )

After killing chickens, censored - awesome chicken shooting though!

At chicken area went backward through gate to hidden area. Jumped left from box and ended up stuck behind the box with the checkpoint on it.

No other issues. The gameplay and aesthetics in this are fantastic. Gonna go play it again right now.

Just played it, loved it Found almost all the secrets (just was missing one darn cow!) and really enjoyed playing it. I did find a bug though, at the second barrel cannon area (after jumping across the two round spiky cacti), you can launch up onto the rocks above, and from there jump through the level to the floor. Ironically, I was able to find my fourth cow by wandering around there

Wow really cool level Grant!
I liked the beginning because it's quite clearly you that was drunk. Nice to see you're looking to your real life for inspriation. Erm, running out of jokes here! Holy cow it was good!

Well yes, very nice level, tonnes of secrets.

Couple of problems - there was one grab switch that was sort of in the middle of nowhere on a non-grabable material too.
And one speech bubble that was entirely stars. That's all though

This is the first level of yours that I played, and I'm glad that I did. This level was great all around for me, it had humor, secret spots, gameplay, and visuals. The beginning was funny, and I love the zombie chickens, they looked really cool. The gameplay was topnotch, and I loved all of the bubble chains you made. I only found 3 cows and 4 beer bottles, but I had the high score last time I checked.

Well, I had just written a big block of a paragraph, but just clicked something and it all disappered...

Anyway, I thought this level was very good. Nice platforming, best visuals of yours in my opinion, but had one downfall. That was those darn cacti and some plane-shifting problems! At the first large platforming section, I tried to go across the bottom path and kept plane-shifting into the middle layer and getting spiked by the cactus in the middle.

The cacti "maze" right after that section caused me headaches... If I jumped from the top/back-most layer I'd shift into the middle layer and get spiked by that dang front cactus... every time!! I did this about 5 times in a row...

The last small thing was those sinking rock platforms. When jumping straight across them, you could make it across fine. But if you fell from a swinging platform above and landed on a sinking platform, it was tough to get to the next one without dying. I did this three times... Possibly due to my haste, but I'm sure I won't be the only one to do this.

Still, this level was very good! I loved most of the gameplay elements, story, dialog, and the wonderful visuals! Will play again to actuall finish it though...

Very fun level! On my first play-through, only one thing really stood out to me. A lot of the camera zones seemed a little sloppy to me. An example is the cactus patch, where it was zoomed out father than the patch's actual width. At the part with the crunching pillars that sink when you step on them, the camera zone in the section before it makes it hard to see ahead of you and you can fall into gas easily.

I found a way to get into the chicken coop before the gate lowers by going into the very first gap on the left.

This can help solve your censorship issues:

The gamelpay mechanics were brilliant, especially the zombie chickens. You nailed the setting too, I I couldn't find anything that seemed out of place. The humor, especially the first conversation and word's most pointless mine, were hilarious. A 5-Star level for me.

Fantastic level! Visuals were very colorful/playful and excellent song choice. I got a chuckle from your characters, the lizard/zombie chickens and commentary on the size of the mine. You also had great score bubble placement for making chains.

Finding the beer bottles and cows is a lot of fun. I'm still missing a few bottles and a cow...must play again. Something the size of a cow shouldn't be easy to hide...I don't know how you managed it...very clever level design!

I thought the barrel mechanic worked flawlessly and was great fun...was less thrilled with the cacti that you had to switch planes to avoid but the good checkpoint placement was appreciated. Other than that 1 speech bubble everyone else has mentioned and the small issues with some camera zones this level is close to perfect.

I'd ask you to play my new level but your time is better spent in create mode, 5 stars and hearted!

EDIT: Were you supposed to slide that box to grab the first cow...because I only used it for point bubbles...can't recall if it could have been used for the cow as well...you can grab the cow without the box. I remember thinking it odd how high the cow was...if you are meant to slide a box would be better if you'd already passed one and if cow was a little higher so you know that you can't jump up there...

Sorry I havent replied, was busy yesterday (hungover, I said the level had a bit of me in it ), I've bunked off work early tho so I got some fixes done and time to reply

I've made the jumps a little easier and used invisible gas, hopefully this should have solved it

No mate, I captured it though. I wanted to get it published so I removed it. The thermo is about overheating so I may need to wire it up at a later date if I need to fix more stuff up

Thanks for playing it . As I mention above, all the problems should be fixed now. You are supposed to use the box to get the cow yeah, I'll make the box the cow is stood on a little higher later on so you can't grab it from the floor.

Hey really nice level here! Loving the visuals. I had a few issues. The part with the first paintinator after that the speech is censored once you defeat all the little enemies, it comes from the little building you run through. The checkpoint there, I got stuck behind that a few times when I jumped back there and fell down behind. The mine cart, I got stuck under it not sure if that is fixable but thought I'd let you know. I'm sure your aware of this but left of where mine falls there is a yellow light visible, I think it could be hidden. Although should I really be giving YOU advice on visuals Bubbles after last barrel that shoots up on second wave of barrels seem impossible to get. Now to go back and get the highscore

Perhaps bubbles were fixed in last update, ill check again now.

I had a lot of fun with this level. It looks absolutely amazing, the level of detail is great. The whole thing was funny and had solid gameplay. I loved finding the secrets, I only have one cow to find this far, though the first cow can be acquired from just jumping down from the roof instead of dragging that box all the way over. I don't think this is a very big problem though. IMO, if you think about jumping from the roof to get the cow then you deserve the cow anyway. The plot isn't really resolved though. Maybe I had some kind of memory lapse, but I don't remember fighting the big bad guy at the end. I did like the zombie chickens, though.

Overall, awesome level. One of the few levels where I actually went back to try and find the secrets. Oh, and also, I managed to break out of your level. It was in a section where the barrels moved left and right. In the first barrel, I jumped out of it and went to the left because there was a gap in the background scenery that I thought could lead to a cow or something, but I actually got out of the level and landed on the background floor, This isn't something that needs to be fixed necessarily, most of your secrets had little visual hints while this part had none, so it was actually kind of stupid for me to think that there was a secret back there, but I was determined.

Anyway, great level. I gave it 5 stars.

I understand you might be a bit overwhelmed, you seem to have gotten a lot of feedback pretty quickly, but if you're feeling generous, could you give me some feedback on my level, Secrets of the Sky?

Found the last cow (probably the easiest one)...I thought that was a cow up there last time! May have to go back to find those last two, *hic*, beers! Changes to camera angles are great. Everything went very smoothly. Can still grab the first cow without the box pretty easily but it seems really unlikely that anyone besides me will...and it's not like it breaks anything.2010-05-05 02:44:00

Really fun bubble combos (though i had trouble getting the ones between the last few barrels, it didn't seem to register me going over them), great cartoony visuals and a nice blend of gameplay. It took me three playthroughs but I finally got 'em all! Another great level Grant, particularly the dialogue which had me chuckling, or even cluckling a lot. Really fun bubble combos (though i had trouble getting the ones between the last few barrels, it didn't seem to register me going over them), great cartoony visuals and a nice blend of gameplay. And any level that has zombie chickens is obviously a winner. Cute as a button!

They seem to be far away like a few layers behind. The dm wouldn't be glued to the front of the bubbles? Maybe that could be blocking them from sackboy, so gluing to back could fix. Or I could be completely wrong. The rods technique will probably work just as well though and has probably been implemented by now! 2010-05-05 18:18:00

HOLY COW! Nice canyon themed level. It had a varied of gameplay including the minigame where you go against the alien chickens and the treasure hunt where you search for cows and evil bottles. The level design is good too. You done an good job on the dialogue too which is funny and like the usage of cactus and mine carts. Played it earlier, and loved it!

Great visuals and detailled scenery! Loved the cartoony style!
The gameplay was challenging but really fun!

I don't have much to say really, as I didn't encoutered any problem... I just spend a very good time playing it!

This level was awesome in most parts:
Bad:
-Part when evil guy turnes chickens into zombiechickens: zombiechickens never reached long enough so if you stay in the middle you don't have to do anything to keep yourself alive.
-Part after part you use barrels to bounce you up: the jump over 2 cactuses was annoyingly hard even when I kept X button down.
-Part after that with spinnig wheels was hard as well.
-Parts you have to dodge pixel cactuses were annoying EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Good:
+Very fun and actionfull gameplay. Barrels could have been bigger.
+Cow secrets: I found 2 cows and earned few good points with them. They were super fun to search and they were just enough hard places to reach.
+Visuals were actually best thing in whole level. I haven't seen anything like it in LOONG LOOONG time. Love how you used stickers to make buildings look good.
Critic: 4 stars and <3. I found this level very inspirating and gameplay was pure awesomness. Still it's long level and it has many annoying/not very fun places. Otherwise it would have been 5. My level The Cellar is waiting for more feedback so give everything on it!

Hey Grant!!

I've been away for awhile, but finally got a chance to play this after it was published and have to say awesomely, wonderfully, amazingly, incredibly, uhhh great!!

I love this new fun style of yours. It's still definitely GruntosUK, but extra heavy on the comical, fun hysteria.

Loved the hidden secrets and the not so hidden ones where you have to figure out how to even get them!

Awesome work Grant!

I have reviewed your level and I can only say that is wonderful and lovely, congratulations on the diene perfectly recreates This rural life, the barn, houses, and all the development level is perfect, I liked the creation of the evil creatures , chicks with bat wings was a fun idea, music, camera, everything is adorable, you have an excellent work and also the atmosphere is perfect for LBP, I liked the traps, and bouncing drums, is competitive playing with someone else, in fact I did some photos my wife and I and we went to your level.

Excellent work once again Grantos. I played this right after Misfortune 2 yesterday evening and both levels reeks excellence. I felt this one here might have been a tad short but I didn't find everything in it. Did I ever told you I LOVE the secrets you create in your levels? You really get it.

What a frustrating level. It's gorgeous and fun and amazing, but I've tried THREE TIMES to get that stupid mine cart to work and it's stuck. I pull the switch, open the new switch, pull that one, the minecart comes out, and nothing happens. Won't move or budge, even when I grab its grab switch. :l2010-05-18 23:41:00
