Logic pack has one in its advanced logic vault. Im not sure about the quantity of outputs though. If my understanding of what you mean by 4 ways refers to 4 outputs then its simple to make quick adjustments to it.2010-05-01 16:35:00

I agree with SteveBigGuns. Every logics is very tuneable. I have never tuned the Randomiser to 4 outputs before... it looks complex to tune the Randomizer.2010-05-01 17:11:00

Yes the Logic Pack has one, and Treas has a tutorial on how to make one. Check them both out. They're very helpful! 2010-05-01 17:14:00

it looks complex to tune the Randomizer.

It would take a bit of time (recapturing the emitted blocks etc), but shuoldn't be too difficult. Guneye also has (or had) a pretty good randomiser. It's not as all-purpose as the logicpack one, but will work for the vast majority of applications.

Oh, okay. It's look like it's pretty hard to tune the randomizer. Is it the dissolve blocks that are emiting/dissolving and the hexagonal shaped wheel that spins fast and slow each time on it's left that you can tune?

you should just buy metal gear its worth it and only 6 dollars.

And a tip for a randomizer is it requires some type of player to object interaction to be truly random

A randomizer that starts off the exact same way when you go into a level will have the same outputs every time. A randomizer that is triggered by the player is different. The trigger is usually a sensor switch, and it's random to when the player gets to that area because of so many variables (skill level, chatting with friends, etc.)2010-05-02 06:26:00

yup! even if they have to press a button or something at the start... but it'd be better to do a sensor switch further down the line because most players would press the button at the start around the same time

All non-analogue 'randomisers' need to be seeded in order to make them appear random for multiple runs. This seeding sets them off on a different pattern, so to speak.
With the randomiser I use, it has a pattern - obviously. It's only a simple-ish one. In one of my levels, it's seeded simply by the time taken for someone to read something, and enter into the game area. This ensures they enter at a different point in the randomiser's pattern each time.
I did see quite a good ramdomiser consisting of many blocks being flung around an enclosed space, much like a bingo caller's machine. It did seem quite 'random', but the downside was that it didn't give results at regular intervals. I suppose you could make one that built up a queue of result 'balls', with a gate for allowing a single result read at any one time.

look above sackboy to the left
the jumping box, thats a randomizer
the elastic is set to 0 lenght, so its glitch and randomly jumps about.

there are ways you could use this to make a 4 way thing.

hope this helps.

You need a manatee and a tank full of bingo balls to make a truly random randomizer methinks...2010-05-06 02:45:00
