I recently made a music video, the footage being from Little Big Planet. I would really like to show everyone, but I have one question, can I put it on youtube without breaking copywright laws? Becuase I'm using Little Big Planet Footage and I'm using a song? So am I allowed to post it on youtube (then ultimately here on this site)? EDIT: Here's the vid. (I take now credit for the music and I cut off a couple secs in the beginning). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFjq-QpLEQQ Hopefully, the sound isn't removed... (Someone tell me if it is...)

Technically you are not allowed to but if you take a quick look at youtube, almost every video breaks those rules. I would be cautious though because Youtube now has a program that scans all of it's videos and if it detects copyrighted music it deletes the audio. You are then left with just a bunch of nice looking footage with no sound. So in summary: go ahead and upload it, you are not going to get in any trouble. The worse that will happen is that you will check on your video and there will be no sound.

yeah, but you can fix that, if you break up the audio, say... 10 seconds of the song or reverse it briefly, the copywright doesn't effect it, the copyright is void if the audio is altered in any way, or if the song is less than 30 seconds, i helped out a couple of people this year with video editing.

Thing is though, it wouldn't fit in very well if I did that, plus it's on movie maker... (and I don't think I can temporarily reverse songs) EDIT: What if I have the volume at the beginning slightly quiter (for about 7 seconds)?

how about just have a blank sec or 2 without sound in it that would break the audio stream and copyright
