If you need some help with bosses, I can recommend a good level to help you with it. The level is by Holguin86, and is called Make your own boss!: A step by step guide. (Just search for: Holguin86) It's a tutorial, and it covers things like how to make your boss move.
Tell me if it helps at all!

How do you plan on making him move? Maybe I can help you.
Wheels? Legs? Pistons?

I think the better question is how as in what way, direction, pattern are you planning on making him move?
You know, since he already said he tried pistons and wheels.

Floating = winches. Try it out. 2010-04-27 15:11:00

do you mean when you attached the piston the creature brain died? If you attach a creature directly to DM it will die. You can still use DM. Just not glued to or directly connected to a creature.

Nay, floating is a delicate balance between piston and spring... I usually make one stiff and the other dominant in strength,

@Flamingemu:
Haha!!! I love the drawing!!!

Another version could be like the 2 way switch you see in the last level with Mags the Mechanic, where there are two buttons which sends a piece with a switch key back and forth, sending a platform up and down. And the yellow wires, I suppose, in flamingemu's awesome drawing could be either pistons (reccomended, so the boss wonth be jingling around so much) or winches (useful if the boss is not moving too fast).

There may be one problem though - stiff pistons/rods can intefere with the smooth running of the wheels. I've tried that before - it gets a bit jumpy.
(Nice pic by the way )

Also, if one piston doesn't work, why not try multiple identical pistons?

if you find that its like that, you can put a STIFF, no stranth piston/spring to an object that wont move (not DM) like stone in a ditch in the track.2010-04-28 00:53:00
