Wheely Switches

Archive: 11 posts

Hey there!
I am trying to make a hamster wheel like switch for my level - but I am having some trouble. I have seen and played rtm's level on wheely switches, but it is more of an object showcase than a tutorial. Wondering if anyone could explain to me how to make one of those switches from scratch?
Thanks!

Well, basically, I want there to be a hamster wheel type thing which you have to run around in in order to lower a drawbridge. (Not very original, I know). I was also thinking about a two player one in which one player would have to run around in a wheel in order for the other one to cross over, then they would take over the running so the other guy can cross.

rz22g published a level with an alternative method for wheel switches. It's higher-thermo but a lot easier to understand. I don't have LBP turned on right now, but I'm sure comph or rtm will come and describe it to you.2010-04-26 01:18:00

Nah, just copied rtm's design exactly. My advice if you want to understand it is to reverse engineer it.

The key is bolt stacking. If you place bolts on a piece of material and then move it to where you want, you can place two bolts directly on top of one another.

Thanks! Comph! Rtm! Appear!

(Did it work?)

EDIT: Wow, that worked quickly! But what bolts am I stacking on top of each other? Or, would it be better if I played that level Incinerator22 mentioned, and then came back if I still needed help?
