The biggest roller manufacturer of Rollers, "Luos & Clay MFG. - Roller Manufacturing" have opened the doors from one of their biggest and oldest factories.
They are proud to present you a fast-paced Roller-jumping experience with an original twist to one of the oldest and probably least original gameplay elements in the world of LBP.

"Puzzle" spoiler - Only read if you are stuck, or have peer2peer connection failures with your brain:

Red Rollers
Just rotate around at certain speed.

Yellow Rollers
Move either horizontal or vertical when grabbed.

Blue Rollers (PermaRoller)
Big perma-key Roller, Pull it completely down.

Green Rollers
Somewhat the same as yellow rollers, but with a shorter moving range.

Black Rollers
Will drop burning logs in furnace for the boiler.

Advanced spoiler:

In the big room, on each side:
Pull down permaroller, make your way to the black roller that will drop burning logs in furnace of boiler.
When both boilers are filled scoreboard will be accessable.

Note:

After creating my cave level (link: Sunken cave of Ankor Sack (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=25481))
I wanted to create something in totall contrast of it.
Things I wanted to focus on:
* Fast gameplay
* No Layer Glitch
* Try to create something quite original with basic "Rollers"
* Give it a slight pinball/sonic pinball feel
* Scorebubble Chaining
* Prices
* Very big mechanism that makes you feel smaller than a sackboy

Difficulty: Medium/Fast gameplay
Build time of level: 6.5 days
Average playtime: Fast playtrough: Under 4 minutes, Scorebubble hunting/Chaining: less than 10 minutes.

I want to make really clear that,
This level is 1 player only!! and its almost impossible to finish it with more than 1 player!!
I hope that makes it clear enough!!

Special thanks to C_McKamey for semi-Co-Creating this level,
He helped out with almost all the logics, Created the Pressure Valve and if something is bolt-stacked its C_McKamey who created them.
Also a huge thanks to Fred who made me the "Luos Approved" Logo, You can win it when you collected all prices in the level!
Furthermore thanks to BreakingBrownies, Worm and many others!
I hope you will like this level as much as we do!

Level is published,

Pretty cool. Had some trouble getting to the big black rollers in the last room, as the yellow rollers didn't have enough oomph.

Edit: yikes... someone doesn't like it. It had 1 star when I got the chance to rate it. And it says that I am the only play besides you. Did you rate your own level one star?

Oh, I see your edit now.

Gonna play this one now in a minute will report back!

Hmm 2446 code isn't working for me, did it change?!

Played it and really enjoyed it. I love trying to chain bubbles and spinning on rollers so it was right up my alley! The only part I felt frustrated at was the end with the black rollers. I found it tricky getting up to the one on the left, the red roller below seemed too slow. After wandering for a bit and grabbing other rollers I had missed that seemed to speed it up. Do you have to pull these mechanical style rollers down in order to make the red ones go faster(only had trouble on left so to speed that one up)? There was no hint to do this if that's the case and you can basically run past it. Only suggestion would be to turn off roller until that mechanism is engaged. If it's not the case at all then lol I must have been doing something wrong for 5 mins.

I deleted/republished it though.

Oh, I see your edit now. I agree, I allready gave them a little more oomph, but will give them a little more boost next time I am in the editor!

Key worked for me once. (key glitch problem)
First time thru I enjoyed it but got a little disoriented with all the spinning..lol
Hit replay and the second time I wasn't as disoriented and had fun going for the bubbles. (got used to the spins).
I thought the visuals were great and now that its republished I plan to play again and see how well I can do.

* Increased wheelspeed on yellow rollers for easier access to black rollers, also improved rollerspeed on rollers only reachable trough black rollers.
*Found a gap in my level after improving enviromental flow near finish this morning.

I saw you playing when I turned off my ps3 L.L., hope you enjoyed your 2nd playtrough

I found it tricky getting up to the one on the left
That should be solved now!

the red roller below seemed too slow. After wandering for a bit and grabbing other rollers I had missed that seemed to speed it up. Do you have to pull these mechanical style rollers down in order to make the red ones go faster(only had trouble on left so to speed that one up)? There was no hint to do this if that's the case and you can basically run past it.
The first blue roller you encounter kinda shows you something in the level changes when you fully pull it down,
Also if you find the blue roller in the big room and fully pull it, you will see the water in the boiler raise as a visual clue,
this will also change the rollerspeed on the two red rollers below it, making it possible to get to the black roller.

Only suggestion would be to turn off roller until that mechanism is engaged. If it's not the case at all then lol I must have been doing something wrong for 5 mins.

When you forget to activate the Blue roller, the red roller directly underneath it is going fast enough to get back to the Blue roller, while the 2nd red one will be slower not making it possible to get to the green/black/yellow rollers.
When Blue roller is triggered, you can no longer get to it with the roller directly underneath it, while the 2nd roller now has enough speed to toss you towards the green/black/yellow ones.

My personal (pre publish) score was 12350, anybody wanna beat that?

Lmao, the Luos approved logo

This level is great and all, but... I still find Danger Ball better.
Cause these two levels are sooo simiular that not comparing them would be impossible.

Luos, on your big poster, I'd like to see a frame around it and maybe a bit rounder edges?

Uhm, anyway. Great level :star::star::star::star::star: and a http://lastopp.no/filer2/2da463812f2a70c5ce48614bb2b3634f.png

...I for one hope that day never comes. When I started with lbp again to create my series, I made a promise to stop after my 13 levels where done,
I expected to be done around june...
Now spending so much time with adi I find it hard to let go of lbp, knowing that lbp2 will come makes it harder...
We have a great community, and if all us editors would join and start when lbp2 comes out..
we could change the game so to speak..
I cant promise anything, but there will be a big chance that releasing the final sack level will also mean me quiting lbp.

didnt feel like spending any more time on the poster

For what its worth, I played it early yesterday, prior to your changes and loved it, I had some problems with the "oompf" but was able to get the timing correct after a few tries. (I did notice the bolt was slightly off-center on the black rollers that are furthest outbound (the ones with the flaming log cages.)

A really fun level to play, and your ability to turn around beautiful levels with great game play in less than 1 week is so impressive.

All of them are slightly off center, I thought it would look better than well oiled rollers in a rusty enviroment.

Thanks rohar!

So I am finally getting around to posting about this level. As usual I wanted to think carefully about what I wanted to say and how I wanted to say it.

Working with Luos on this level was very similar to my experience when the cave level was being created. I again had several Chuck Norris (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=25099-Chuck-Norris-LBP-Rules&highlight=chuck+norris) moments when a simple outline sketch in thin dark matter would be transformed into a complete room or machine part right before my very eyes and almost before I could finish the sketch.

Great visuals as usual. Several great twists on the standard roller including layer shifting, speed and direction changing rollers, stacked rollers, and more. Besides all that, the level is just simply fun to play. My last run through netted me around 8.1k putting me in second place. Where Luos is scoring those extra combos I have yet to discover, but I will.

I enjoyed it thoroughly and hope you all do as well,

Nice. Very fun. "1337" is soo overrated though, I didn't even read the part where you said the code, and I guess it was 1337 anyway and was right.

4 stars. The ending was reaaally confusing, so many places to go. DX

the level was great, nice visuals.
feels like a reall giant factory, i really liked the liniar part most.
with the puzzle ur just doing the same thing twice.
but nice use of layers to, it ended kinda upruptly,
i think it could use a boss, but i think every level needs a boss
and what kind of factory is it anyway, i meen what dus it make.

If you playthe level a 2nd time, you wont be confused.
You also get more joy out of the level as you have played it more often.

hey i got an idea for you, how about a roller that also rides on wheels.
like mine karts with rollers on them, maibe make them emit and move left and you have to use them to get to the right.
just an idea

I allready got plans for a pinball style level of this, and your suggestion might be something cool to add!

Allready working on a new level (hopefully finish it in another week),
after that create sack 6, prolly takes me about 3 weeks.

Yes I want to beat it but OMG! I despise squish deaths! I got squished on a roller with checkpoint right above it, it's just after like tunnel type bit with bubble chains all along it. ARGH! Such a good run as well.

Beat it! 2 pointless deaths and missed chains so yeah, definitely improvable.

12,253 is the new record, not by much

I played this recently, you were right, it was the total opposite of your previous level, the gameplay was really fast. There were a lot of great bubble chains to be had, if you were up for a challenge. The visuals were still very crisp, I liked how you used some of the materials from the Incredibles pack, and the level flowed nicely. There was a lot of spinning around, but there was a twist, you were great with the layer transitioning parts. Keep up the great work Luos, you level-making machine.

I rated it :star::star::star::star::star: and I hearted it.

There is no such thing as a high speed roller level that won't have some LBP physics squish deaths. This is not as much the creators fault as it is the moving target we refer to as LBP physics. I've played this level about 5 times without squish deaths, but I am also aware of when these are likely to happen. I would not want ANY creator to try to limit their imagination, or game play implementation worrying about LBP physic squish deaths (and other stupid LBP physics issues.) I've certainly died many unforeseeable "squish deaths" playing Mm story mode levels, so I can't logically be worried about similar deaths from community levels.

Yea, I allready tried to minimize squishdeads (reason why the camera at black rollers moves a little weird.. but gave a nice effect thankfully).
And in almost all cases it should be solved, that said I agree that squishdeads sometimes comes really random.
Sometimes even happens when sackboy falls down from big height and lands exactly onto a border between two identical horizontal/vertical objects standing next to eachother.

The fact that you can WALK sack boy into the underside of a shallow ramp and get squished is one such example of SBP (Stupid Big Physics).2010-04-30 19:01:00

I know what you mean, I once got squished because I jumped against a flat ceiling.
Mustve been a weird corner somewhere around there that sack got in between lol.

Just played it, and I sure gave it 5 stars.

I have to say, though, that I couldn't enjoy much the gameplay, since I've never been a fan of the wheelie things. Besides, I was utterly frustrated at the end, but that again is because of my lame skills.
On the other hand, I absolutely loved how it looked. And I mean loved. I'm always trying to find new and interesting material combinations, and I believe that you've beaten me to the ground on this subject. Not to forget the design! It felt industrially warm, and it was a joy to stare at.

Before starting to play this level I were little skeptical about spinning sponge wheels being old and boring but after I played it I now think exactly opposite.
All new and unique obstacles with those rollers are just amazing and that combined with amazing look and smooth flow is nothing but brilliant.
I tried to find something complaining but I failed miserably and I only suggest to add race on it.
