Avatar on Blu ray

Archive: 8 posts

Hey forum, I got my copy of Avatar Blu ray + DVD combi pack yesterday (saturday), 2 days early before its release on the 26th to stores to the UK thanks to Play.com and it's impressive pre order system i've never had a bad order or delivery and the package was posted on the 20th.

Just to say that it is worth buying for ?14.99 if you enjoyed the film, although for the people who think that it isn't worth it due to no 3D think again, I've watched the film both in 3D and 2D, and I found that I was able to focus on small details more in 2D instead of focusing on the entire picture all the time in 3D. the graphics never failed to impress, and the audience can then to escape into a fantasy dreamworld free from day to day stress's (like work and exams). you all know about the film I'm sure, so I'm not going to explain it in great detail.

Do consider buying it on Blu ray for a better picture and sound, as it is only about ?5 more than the DVD copy.

see the thread on below for more reviews and impressions by other LBPC users.

Yay, bloobies galore on my own television! Sorry, I just don't see what everyone else did in this. It was an amazing feat in the tech department, no doubt, but you think with the time, money, and energy they spent on the film they could have blown us away with an interesting story or characters as well?2010-04-25 15:22:00

I got to admit it wasn't a new and interesting story, but the underlying representations were kinda obvious, like climate change and the war in afghanistan...
but as far as i can see it is a typical James Cameron story and i still enjoyed it, the reasons because his films are so popular is that he always does something groundbreaking visually in the film industry. but yer its worth a buy if you liked it... the film is like marmite you either love it or you hate it.

Friend of my family got it and lent it to us, though I'm not really interested in watching it again.

Don't really feel like being shown how awesome giant blue people are and how eeevillll human soldiers are again.
